Color me underwhelmed by the conclusion.

Yeah, more homages and teases referencing the films set after this series.  Yay. Those hoping for more originality... :-\ (The prequels themselves had that problem, too, so...)

The holo disguise matrix....hmmm...didn't the inventor of those die last episode...or did he? (looks from stills that were was a cut scene last episode with that snaggletooth guy and Bane)

Those poor Naboo workers. Was the Chancellor's life worth theirs? Huh, Obi-Wan?

I was amused by Bane posing a Nemoidian (During preproduction for episode 1, Lucas declared them the same race before someone talked him out of it.)

Put the TIE Wings on the X-Wing body..how kewl would that be!  8)

Build a droid compatible figures....create a half C-3PO and half Han Solo!  :o

But it won't even be anything that fun. Probably a new scale. They love new sizes...let's make 3 FORCE BATTLERS a different scale from the originals and never go beyond that. Afterall, they are just for some toddler to smash in to the floor. Or GI JOE RETALIATION, 10" figures...two of them...both heroes and they are supposed to....? That's right, be smashed into things by a toddler.

I must've been a weird kids because I preferred things at least close to the same size. I had one 12" Star Wars figure I never really did anything with, it was cool...but i didn't play out GIANTS ATTACK stories too much.

Star Wars AMP'D?

Quote
STAR WARS Line

With excitement for STAR WARS hitting a fever pitch in 2012 with the theatrical release of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace in immersive 3D, Hasbro is introducing two new STAR WARS expressions called STAR WARS FIGHTER PODS and STAR WARS AMP’D. With STAR WARS FIGHTER PODS, iconic STAR WARS characters get a collectible new gaming twist featuring micro heroes and mega battles! Players use FIGHTER PODS to knock down as many figures as possible. Spin, Launch or Roll your Pod into battle…even connect your Pods together or place your figures on top or inside of them for extra “power”! More than 100 STAR WARS FIGHTER PODS figures will be available in a unique new style from all six STAR WARS films and The Clone Wars animated series—collect them, set them up and knock them down in head-to-head battling play! In fall, kids can gear up for battle with STAR WARS AMP’D. For the first time ever, kids will be able to quickly and easily customize the most iconic STAR WARS vehicles and prepare them for any mission: land, space, sea or air! In 2012, the line features 9 figures and 6 vehicles.

They'll never be as cheap as $5, more like $13. (All the great stuff goes to Ross anyway...none around here.)

Like the cockpit. Looks underscaled but still decent, but not $130 or whatever decent.

It sad there's like a $1000 worth of toys in that picture.

IAll of that said...I often wonder how and when exclusives are solicited?  Because it isn't at Toy Fair where you would think they would be...must be some sort of internal process between the companies...I still hold out hope for the Ewok Pack(s), Darth Vader Pyre and hopefully Rebel/Astromech packs.  I guess we'll see Friday

Solicited? I thought Toy Fair was just a showing off to the media, all the business stuff is done months before, mass release and exclusives.

When you can't find the main movie villain in stores = failure.

But hey, lots of Iron Man, Thors, Winter Soldiers and USAgents out there.

Hasbro controls too much of the action figure market and they've gotten to the point of half-assing it because they can get away with it.

Picked up the Imperial set with Imperial Commander (Needa), Dengar and At-At Driver for $9.88.

Needa's eyebrows are redder than the original and his hat's button is silver instead of metallic light blue. Rebel Trooper's head swaps with his okay...Needa's head's a little tight on rebel trooper's body.

Never had the Dengar before,  why is he so hard to stand up?

At-At Driver....you know, his head looks cool on the vintage Jedi Knight Luke's body.  I still dislike the painted driver helmet compared to the 2006's molded white version.

Maybe, there's no rush at Hasbro. Light-up sabers might be next year's gimmick, too. AOTC Anakin and Obi-Wan with light up sabers!

People may be jumping the gun on the lack of articulation. Those photos are always doctored up.

But if there is less articulation. I don't understand. Is it really cheaper to tool up new molds with limited articulation than to recolor an existing one with articulation? I doubt most if any of the larger vehicle drivers are in the film.  GI JOE's Hasbro's brand and they don't have to pay licensing compared to Marvel or Star Wars, unless the film likenesses are a factor. Plus they rehash vehicle molds, too.

GI JOE's legacy was the moveable fighting man, and whenever they've reduced articulation, the line has sucked and sucked hard (Extreme, the first Gi JOE Vs. Cobra figures in 2002, those little sigma six 2.5" things).

The second wave came and went, but it was like the first wave had twice the run and reshipped after the second wave.  Maybe they were planning on keeping them around until AotC 3D to come out.  :P

I wish they'd moved to Sarlacc Pit 2-packs or Endor 2-packs or anything not prequel two packs.

Like those 3 packs, had they done something, even just vintage colors homage to Kenner (Say like browner skinned Bossk, gray IG-88 , all-white snowtrooper, black pants Han Solo, grey Death Star Trooper and black uniformed Needa)...I might have bought at least one at full price. As they were, they were only for retro packaging enthusiasts & completists and maybe the odd parent gift giver.

Toys R Us has Deluxe on sale for $15.99 this week...and pod racer  pilot sets for the odd price of $21.59.

Ugh, slim pickings on clearance swag. All I found were a few Cad Bane's Escape and Assault on Geonosis BP's, 1 Hunt for Grievous BP, an AAT, and a smattering of El-Les, Obi-Wan, and SBD's.

No sign at all anywhere of any clearanced Deluxe sets, which is what I was really hoping to see.

I saw the AT-RT with the ram horns on the side clearanced at a Wal-Mart for $13. Not super cheap, but decent compared to new prices. This same wal-mart clearanced their only 3 remaining vintage figures to $4.50 (yeah, they had  new movie heroes and clone wars out, but no new vintage on pegs).

It was good enough, but predictable in that Obi-Wan would try to save the others and spare Eval.

Bane gets his old hat back...what a shame.

The box had a trap specifically dependant on a certain lifeform being present to deactivate? What if he had died earlier? (Eval would've used a different challenge I guess).

Likewise, what if they over dwindled the contendors to less than 5?

Since Moralo Eval is the schemer of the mission, why is Dooku so willing to treat him as disposable?

I wondered why no one took the sniper rifle and shot Eval with it.

Bane has a sense of honor...hmmm...for guy who kills someone over a hat.

After Sgt. Brick they said no more CW mail-aways. Even though they had to make more Bricks to satisfy demand.  :P

If we don't get 100,000 forms in the mail within 2 months, it's a flop! I wonder if the current mail-in Fett won't be considered a flop because after they nixed the online version there's so few order forms to be found at a retail for folks to use.
