Trannies stealing lightsabers...I heard that happened at San Diego Comic Con 2009.
  ;)

I'm curious why the wookies need a bounty hunter ship, they don't have their own? Reuse existing characters and ship models...that's why. Answered my own question...wheee.

Padawan Lost and Wookie Hunt. (I won't write their x-rated parody names in my head)

Barely there Turbo Tank cameo! Felucia! Yay! Dwarf Spider Droids (time for an updated one, Hasbro!)

Jedi don't kill out of anger. Even if the dude will be trying to kill you again later?

Racist episode, all-in-all. Reptilian aliens once again portrayed as cruel killers and mammalians as noble creatures.

Seriously, Bossk is some how the more civilized of his kind? (Gha Nachkt moreso, at least he was just a treacherous junk dealer)

Takeel died...maybe he'll be edited out of the 3D ANH. Okay, okay...all Sniviians look alike.

Sort of a cop out that Chewbacca was the only prisoner on that landing ship, like we needed to know that Ahsoka and company didn't accidently kill anyone.

Chewbacca sure likes to toss people off of high places.

Plo Koon gets to offer the sage wisdom while Yoda is silent. I'm not complaining, forget that little green snot. Plo is the man.

Problem with this two parter...I saw it last year in theaters as PREDATORS. Also, we did the Ahsoka on the run from pursuers in the last arc. Replace droids with Trandoshans, warden with head Trandoshan, clones with younglings, Even Piel with Chewbacca. Maybe they should've spaced out some of the arcs more.

Really an odd season where previous bad-guy poster boy Grievous appears like once. Also, once again, I'm blown away with their follow up on Death Watch.  :P

The Vintage Collection / Re: What Would Be "The End" For You?
« on: March 29, 2011, 12:16 AM »
I'd say when figure started costing more than $_______, but I've sold out on that stance many times.

Actually, finances aside, what's happening locally is more of what will make me quit, not finding anything in stores. I'm not an "order a case" collector, nor will I pay more than retail via online merchant or reward losers who scalp action figures. If I can't find most of it in stores, forget it. I want to see what I'm buying. Essentially that's what happened near the end of POTF2 with the EU wave. Never saw a one, and that ended my completist era.

Odd thing at Wal-Mart today, some older Clone Wars releases rang up at $7.88 (Shaak Ti and young Boba Fett), but oddly both had UPC stickers over their normal UPC's. A lot of the figures had those stickers, though most scanned at $6.50.  Hell, anyone could put those UPS labels on Vintage to get figures for $6.50, using the self-scan checkout (assuming the store has one), who'd even notice? Not that I'm recommending it.  They do have cameras everywhere these days.

I don't know who found vintage cheaper at Target, but they are not in this area.

1596
Recent stop at a local Wal-Mart saw that the Legends and Clone Wars were rolled back to $6.50. Vintage still $8.99. Nothing I wanted from any of the three lines, anyway, though.

1597
Years ago when Vaders were everywhere (more so than usual), I'd sometimes put them at the front of every peg. I was hoping someone would buy them or maybe it was a mild prank for the next collector browsing the aisle. A dozen pegs all showing Vader. Ha.

Collect All 92! / Re: Lando Calrissian (Skiff Guard Disguise)
« on: March 23, 2011, 08:46 AM »
The vintage had a better helmet, or better fitting one, than the POTF2 one.

Never got the Saga version.

Lando's role in Han's rescue was a let down. Struggles with one guard and nearly falls in the sarlacc, to be saved by blind Han Solo. Redemption reasons aside, Lando almost might as well have not been there at all.

1599
Is Dengar a bad figure? Or you just already have one? I never got around to getting him.

1600
Their carry forward policy is strange, especially since most of the new figures are one-per-case, except the new Anakin, which gets carried forward!

I'd hate to be a kid collecting this line. I In the old days, there was time to save you money and buy what you wanted. Nowdays, a month goes by and some of the stuff is gone from stores forever.

1601
Wouldn't want Jet taking case space away from Commander Cody, Capt. Rex and ARF Trooper, would we?

Really, ARF Trooper...they could at least ship the camo one, since apparently it's the only style of generic clone they will reship.

At Toys R Us this week the Clone Wars deluxe vehicles and Legacy collection Battle Packs are 50% off, they actually had a few  battle packs at TRU yesterday. Ones they are likely to have are Birth of Darth Vader and Tatooine Ambush (maul vs. Qui-Gon). (Ad shows Hoth Speeder Bike recon patrol...yeah, right), they had older boxed Clone Wars battle packs...doubt they are included.

Detention Block Rescue: Luke and Han in Stormtrooper disguises with ball jointed hips, Imperial security officer (accurate one with holster), Death Star Trooper (one that sucks less).

Bespin Junk Room Rescue: Ugnaught (new head sculpt), "white" IG-88, Chewbacca, C-3PO in pieces.

Rebel Briefing (ROTJ): Rebel Officer, Mon Mothma update, Admiral Ackbar (new more opened mouthed head sculpt), another one of those Dressellians or somebody or maybe that nifty center table that's too big to make.

Jabba Palace Scuffle: Luke Skywalker, Gammorean Guard, Ishi Tibb, Beedo

Geonosian Defense: Geonosian warrior, sonic cannon (they never made), Geonosian drone

Yavin Briefing with the four guys in the front row.  :P

Never noticed that sinister black astromech back there.

Unfortunately the church council was doing what it felt was canon to God and the faith, whereas Lucas just thinks he is God. ;D

When it comes to Star Wars, Lucas is GOD. EU be damed. The man can do anything he wants. Its his story. Just like Roddenberry could do anything he wanted with Star Trek.

I won't argue with Lucas's power, but Roddenberry is not an apt comparison. Gene Roddenberry didn't own Trek and didn't have direct control over 5 of the 6 Trek films made his lifetime, and only one season of The Next Generation.

Quote
When it came time to produce the obligatory theatrical sequel, Roddenberry's story submission of a time-traveling Enterprise crew involved in the John F. Kennedy assassination was rejected. He was removed from direct involvement and replaced by Harve Bennett. He continued, however, as executive consultant for the next four films: Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan; Star Trek III: The Search for Spock; Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home; and Star Trek V: The Final Frontier.

Roddenberry was deeply involved with creating and producing Star Trek: The Next Generation, although he only had full control over the show's first season. The WGA strike of 1988 prevented him from taking an active role in production of the second season and forced him to hand control of the series to producer Maurice Hurley.

That would've led to less merchandising money, which is what Star Wars has been about since at least 1980.
