The Black Series 3.75" Figures / Re: San Diego Comic-Con 2015

I remember the old days when Toy Fair & onvention reveals...spend like an hour+ looking at cool upcoming products.

Now, it's a 5 minute shrug.

The Black Series 3.75" Figures / Re: San Diego Comic-Con 2015

High priced figures and not finding anything new at retail took the fun out for me.

So the fun's been out for years!  :P

The 'Scum list the Villains Set at $24.99 retail.  I think many folks waited for clearance. I never found them on such, and just bought one online from someone who probably found the sets on deep discount.

Mostly the reissues in the past were one reissued figure in set of mostly new (a few clone wars sets), with some oddities like that ROTS 9 pack with some silver Vader. Though that was when figures were $5, so a $40 set of 9 figures....seems hard to believe today. Harder to believe that was Kaybees exclusive. I thought they were defunct by then....must be because the one locally had already closed. (2009 when they all folded...)

Ironically enough, with all of this Jabba discussion, I just had an issue with my home's air conditioning system that may explain why Hasbro went back to the well on Jabba so quickly.

Long story short, my AC broke down about two weeks ago and was out for two days during some pretty hot and humid days with only fans for air circulation. Anyway, even with the AC back running, I checked Jabba out and he was (for lack of a better word) "sweating" on the bottom part of his body. It was as if life was imitating art, as Jabba was literally covered in a layer of slime, which has also covered the top of the dais where he sat.

I was able to clean him and the dais off with warm water, and there was no staining, discoloration, or deterioration noted, but there's no doubt that it was a combination of the rubbery material and the AC failure that led to this happening.

After opening mine up, my impression of the Wal-Mart Jabba was that the rubbery parts felt cheap and won't hold up over time. I'm not surprised. Though, I was expecting the material to tear.

Well, this sucks.  I guess the days of offering multipacks that are either all new or all repacks are over.

Been over for years. Remember that great Snaggletooth that required you to buy a 3 pack with a reissued Fett and Tusken Raider to get him? (unless you bought him from China).
Strangely some people defended that move...the weird love of retro packaging clouds minds.

With molded on armor, it's harder for them to make the lazy repaints like Moss Man, Stinkor and Faker.

Curious if the helmets/hat fit Star Wars, since they are cheaper than casted stuff I've seen (and no painting required)

Got some figure that could use any decent head wear.  I ordered 2 Death Star Trooper from Hong Kong, and then...after years of selling those darn figures without helmets (but with lightsabers?) they dig up lots that include helmets. they were just waiting for me to cave in.

I found 3 BtF figures and Goonies Chunk for $5. Didn't get any of them, Doc Brown was tempting, though.

I've read the extra vests were because the holes were the wrong size, they corrected it and threw in the error vests as bonuses.

Got a Yarna figure at a yard sale...for free.

Somehow that doesn't look anything like the character from the movie to me. I don't even mean the likeness, the gear and uniform just looks off somehow. Could be a misperception on my part though.

Walmart has been clearancing their ReAction Alien figs and I picked up a few more Big Chaps for $3 a piece yesterday. Got a nice little diorama going now...

That's a deal. I've only seen ReAction figures once at any Wal-Mart and those were Back to the Future.

Ebay prices put the loose Rancor around $50, (which was its original MIB price, with a Luke included)

After that are Jabba and the 4 figures worth $80? Just don't see it.

Pulse is ironic, considering how near-dead Star Wars has been at retail.

Dengar was in Jabba's palace, too.

Being in the barge means Bossk is dead. Fett is dead. The Rebo Band is dead. Luke and Leia murdered them without remorse, proving the are Vader's spawn.

Some are saying the set  not that overpriced if you count the 4 figures as $12.99.

Uh...sorry, not giving breaks to over-priced reissued figures, no matter how desirable they are.

Let's see the real value, break up every thing and sell it separately  on eBay.  :P

It's rigged, they've all been. Watch some figure they've already got in development win.
