Saga '02-'04 / Re: New JD poll: Most wanted VEHICLE!
« on: April 7, 2003, 01:50 PM »
I'm kind of suprised that the Infiltrator is getting the as many votes as it has been.  Never under estimate the power of Maul.  I actually want this underused vehicle as well( Anakin should have blown him away in the final battle) an Infiltrator with a super articulated Maul would be awesome

I'm going with a Ottawa vs Detroit finals although Jersey and Colorado have a good shot as well.  I don't think thw Wild can get past Roy but you never know what will happen.

I do think the Oil is going down in the first round  :-*

For the first time in over 10 years the Playoffs are back in Minnesota and I can't be more excited.  The North Stars run back in 1991 was one of the funnest sports memories of my youth.  HEre are the teams:

Western Conference

#1 Dallas vs
#8 Edmonton
#2 Detroit vs
#7 Anaheim
#3 Colorado vs
#6 Minnesota
#4 Vancouver vs
#5 Saint Louis

Eastern Conference

#1 Ottawa vs
#8 New York Islanders
#2 New Jersey vs
#7 Boston
#3 Tampa Bay vs
#6 Washington
#4 Philadelphia vs
#5 Toronto

Collector's Tips / Storing Loose Figs
« on: April 7, 2003, 01:17 PM »
I use Plano Tackle Boxes to store my loose figures.  It is sweet cause you can adjust the height of the slots and keep the weapons below each figure.  They harken back to the days of the vintage cases...

I hope that 5 pack comes to be because I really think it is sweet.  I had heard rumblings that it wasn't going to see the light of day which I why I ordered Wave 4, I had skipped Helm's Deep Aragorn though.  I would like that Gimli and Haldir though

I've been to two Vikings-Bears games at Soldier Field and let me say your story does not suprise me at all Chris.  I swear there were 10-20 fights in the crowd alone so what was happening in the stands or in the bathrooms I can't imagine.  Too much tailgaiting and wallowing in continued Bears misery can do that to people (BTW the Vikes won both games 1998 and 1999)

Creme, Caramel or Crunch?

I'm a devout Caramel man myself ;)

We haven't decided yet what we will do, I'm sure ham will somehow be involved though

David, kudos again on those sweet Backgrounds.  I may "steal" that idea and start printing some off for my bookshelves.  Your collection is truly amazing!   I love your SW display as well...

Do you print them on glossy photo paper or just regular paper?

I got TTT Wave 4 last week and opened them last night...

GollumI finally opened my Gollum last night and I like him. I wish his head, fingers and torso were more bendy than they are but for the most part he is a cool little figure.  Nice detail, I would have liked a plastic articulated version instead of a bendy I guess.  There is ROTK Gollum coming I believe

Armored Theoden is a nice figure, very detailed, huge button sticking out of his back. I really like the costume and paint apps though. Nice figure, good articulation. Could do without the button

Sam in Mordor is nice but I think i might have just broken his arm taking him of the package. A ton better than the FOTR Sam, not sure if he is the same as the boat Sam, because I don't have that one. Very nice articulation (knees, feet, shoulders, bicep, elbow, wrist, waist, hip, head) Looks to be the right scale and a good likeness, again another nice figure

Helm's Deep Legolas is another awesome Legolas figure. Why they have him down and Aragorn shamed I have no idea. The Helm's Deep detailing is super cool and again very nice articulation on all three of these figures. I am amazed at the intricacies and little swirls they put into the arms and boots on Legolas., The skateboard shield is so so, I thought it was dumb in the movie too

So

Theoden B
Sam B+
Legolas A-
Gollum B (Could have more articulation, or they should have not went bendy on him)
