Collect All 92! / Re:Vintage Figures Which Have Not Been Updated
« on: January 27, 2003, 09:33 AM »
There are two distinct Barada and Nitkos seen in the Skiff scenes, while it is a technicallity an exact likeness has not been released...same goes for the Death Squad Commander, if you look at the vintage cardback the guy wears a grey tunic instead of a black one as represented in the vintage figure, so its debatable...

I saw these at the local WotC store the other day and thought the exact same thing.  While I wouldn't buy them (I have enough crap ;)) they do look fun and would be a good idea for the Clix people to persue

I had the 21 points right ;) just multiply Tampa's score x2 ;)

WHat amazes me is that Tampa hasn't won this before...their offense was better with Dunn and Alstott with Jaquez Green at WR than it is now...their D has been awesome for years now.  WHich begs the question how much longer until the salary cap takes its toll on the Champs ala the Ravens from a few years back?  I've heard the Raiders are like $60 million over for next year so their chances of coming back in the next decade are slim and none...

The saddest thing is now another team has won a championship before my beloved Purple...which leaves 15 teams:

San Diego

Haven't even been to a Super Bowl
New Orleans

Who's gonna win?

I have said all along that Tampa was going to win...and now I'm torn

#1 Do I want JediMAC to get even more bragging rights (although the Raiders and Rams did abandon LA so that at least gives me some satisfaction)
#2 I hate Tampa, any old NFC Central foe I hate and that goes double for the Cheeseheads
#3 I actually like most of the guys on Oakland (except Romanowski he's a punk), Gannon, Rice (one of my all time favorites), Brown, Garner, Woodson and Woodson, Janikowski

I think Tampa's D is so good and the old addage, Defense wins Championships will hold true here, the final

Tampa Bay 24 Oakland 21

We're in trouble

Yep, deep, deep trouble

I think that R2 could possibly be the worst figure ever, the legs don't look like they are moveable...

Boba and Anakin look really cool.  I will for sure be keeping them...

Dooku looks strange, like his head is squashed

I hate the kiddy way these toys are going (is that a paradox) after years of being collector driven they kind of have been thumbing our noses in it

I chatted with a Customer Service person at today, I got the standard we're receiving it on 1/25 line.  She told me if that is the case they won't ship until 1/29 so look for them in February!

SirSteve  has some loose shots up of some of these figures!

The 6-Breasted one is also high on my lists, I'd rather have the bloodied colon looking thing pictured above

We have a family cat and his name is Cosmo.  My son just loves him and since he started walking has chased him like a mad man.  I feel bad for Cosmo, he never knew what was going to happen when we brought a little budnle of joy home alst year :)

9 votes separated CA And GD at .05% that should be 18,000 votes total. 9*100/18000= 0.05%

Last Wednesday lets say there were 9000 votes cast at the time (might be kind of high but lets just assume it is so), GD had a 6% lead on Tuesday.

1st 9000 Total

Senator Yarua (Kashyyyk Senator) : 21 % 1890
Ben Quadinaros (Pod Racer) : 12 % 1080
Rabé : 13 % 1170
Gen. Jan Dodonna : 30 % 2700
Captain Antilles : 24 % 2160

Total 18000

Senator Yarua (Kashyyyk Senator) : 24.67 % 4441
Ben Quadinaros (Pod Racer) : 12.68 % 2282
Rabé : 11.60 % 2088
Gen. Jan Dodonna : 25.50 % 4590
Captain Antilles : 25.55 % 4599

So for the Last Week of the Poll

Senator Yarua (Kashyyyk Senator) : 28.3% 2551 Votes
Ben Quadinaros (Pod Racer) : 13.3% 1202 Votes
Rabé : 10.2% 918 Votes
Gen. Jan Dodonna : 21.0% 1890
Captain Antilles : 27.1 % 2439

The thing that is fishy to me at least is that Ben and Rabé had relatively the same amount over the second half versus the first, I can accept the Yarua gain being most non-collectors identify with a Wookiee over the two old ANH leaders...since the poll was sent out to the masses. The baffling thing to me is the flip flopping of the CA and GD numbers over the second half of the poll...

I think the big question if we make the leap of faith and say that Hasbro didn't count votes from the same IP address (a big leap I think), the question then has to be...

Did non-collectors taint the poll results? By publicizing the poll to people who may not give a rats patoot did they choose the Captain over the General?

Can't complain too much since we are getting both of the guys I wanted, I wanted Dodonna more because he had a bigger role in the movie, he could come with the DS display table and he is a tough custom...

Interesting I think and a good question for future polls...

And far as the Fishiness of the whole voting process:

1st 9000 Total (Tuesday the 14th)

Senator Yarua (Kashyyyk Senator) : 21 % 1890
Ben Quadinaros (Pod Racer) : 12 % 1080
Rabé : 13 % 1170
Gen. Jan Dodonna : 30 % 2700
Captain Antilles : 24 % 2160

Wednesday the 15th Let's say there were 1000 votes

Senator Yarua (Kashyyyk Senator) : 22 % 2200
Ben Quadinaros (Pod Racer) : 12 % 1200
Rabé : 13 % 1300
Gen. Jan Dodonna : 28 % 2800
Captain Antilles : 25 % 2500

So in that 1000 there were

Senator Yarua (Kashyyyk Senator) : 31 % 310
Ben Quadinaros (Pod Racer) : 12 % 120
Rabé : 13 % 130
Gen. Jan Dodonna : 10 % 100
Captain Antilles : 34 % 340

This is the fishy part of the whole thing right here in a nutshell...In one day Dodonna received less votes than Rabe or Quadinaros...It looks like the right things happened, the lesson should be that the poll should be run better in general though.
