Other Collectibles / Re: Question about Shepperton helmets.

According to their website:  (SDS Props)

"In 1976...Andrew Ainsworth and Shepperton Design Studios created the original helmets and armour for the greatest sci-fi fantasy film of all time.

Now, almost 30 years on and for the FIRST time ever, YOU can own an exclusive 1:1 collectable replica of the original movie helmets.

Made by the original prop-maker
From the original moulds.

Produced and endorsed by Andrew Ainsworth at Shepperton Design Studio's, these unique props offer collectors a rare opportunity of owning some of the most iconic designs of modern cinema."

Despite this acclaim, I can't find anywhere on the site that actually says they are LICENSED (although, I've always just assumed they were).

That other website  :P is supposed to have a review here, but the website is down at this moment.

That was just, bizarre.  It's like driving by a car accident, you want to look away, but just have to keep watching.

Vader statue for cheap?

Well, whaddya think?  Seller has 50 at $149.99.  Not bad, save $50 (25%) but it's a long time away :-\  Too risky or a good deal?  Only a deposit is required, so even if they bugger off, you're not out the full amount.  Seems interesting to me.

Ooo, very tempting.  2947 feedbacks, with 100% positive.  It certainly appears that he's on the up and up.  And it may be worth $20 plus shipping to save $50.  Very tempting.

We've got a bit of a yo-yo going on here too.  +2C on Friday, -11C on Saturday, then calling for +6C on Sunday.  Bizarre.  I actually don't want it to be +6C, I don't want to lose our snow!  It needs to be here for Christmas.  :-[

Oh, man, do I understand.  It seems that everyone has some advice, whether it's wanted or not, about taking care of babies.  Unfortunately, it will keep coming and coming, and often from the strangest places.  It never fails to baffle me how people that DON'T HAVE KIDS suddenly have advice for you when you have a baby - what the hell do they know?   >:(

On the topic of babies, one of my biggest pet peeves from when my daughter was in diapers:  restaurants that don't have change tables in the washrooms.  The last place I want to put my baby is on the floor of a washroom - who knows what's been on that floor.   :(

I'm not picky, real or fake, I like em all.   :D

Let's just say I have a weakness for that attribute on the female body.  Mmmm...

Any chance of picking it up for less than $200?  Not bloody likely?

Uh, I'm guessing not bloody likely.  But I sure wish they'd give us some more pics to see if this Darth Vader statue is even worth that.  So far the pics are pretty obscure.

Happy Birthday Dave!  Just about a Christmas baby, hey?  Must be a loot-ful time of the year for you!

I'm pretty sure she's been mentioned previously, but Veronica Zemanova is gotta be at the top of the list:

Swam with turtles on four different days, one that would fit Matt’s sweater even.  It was awesomely huge, probably about 3 feet across, maybe 4 feet long, probably 400 pounds .

Wow.  That must have been one of those "I'll never forget this" occasions.  It's great that you such a successful trip.

Oh, and welcome back to the fluffy white stuff.

That's the beauty of doing the books yourself.   ;D

i never knew there was that many [stories], lots of reading to be done before Episode 3 comes out.  :D

Agreed.  I've totally fallen behind in my SW Republic reading, I think the last comic in that series I've tracked down was #65 or so.

I don't normally read any of the novels (not since the days of Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy - good stuff).  Are there any Clone Wars novels that people have read that have impressed them?

Dale, I can't remember how far you've ventured into collecting these busts.  Do you have the regular Vader one?  If so, how do they compare?  I want one so bad - do you think sending an eBay auction note to my wife would be too obvious?   ;D
