Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Do You Tip?
« on: August 3, 2006, 10:13 AM »
So what do you tip at a Koren bar-b-que? Here you have to get your food and cook it yourself! I guess drinks are the only thing they bring.

I know whenever I get crappy service, I put down on the tip line one cent. The manager sees all credit card receipts and really notices someone got bad service when they only leave one cent as a tip.

What a great tutorial. I would have never though to use those zoids rubber caps for this. Thanks for posting this.

At ComicCon last saturday, I watched a contest between two staff workers at RS build as many bust ups as possible. Not sure who they were.

As they were building, the ref keep going on and on about how great RS is. He keep saying how everybody should come over and see these two guys build. These guys are great at building bust ups all because they work for RS. There was another jerk filming the entire thing.

I don't know if the video is on RS or not but if you listen carefully in the background you should hear me chant "Scum sucks!" over and over again.

This is from Miceage:

...Where the real action will be for the boys in the family is over at Tomorrowland Terrace, where the Jedi Training Academy will be located. Notice how we didn't say "Club Buzz." Finally, mercifully, they've given up on the silly Club Buzz name no one ever really used and will be returning to the old Tomorrowland Terrace name instead. The facility is set for a remodel and the garish Buzz Lightyear color scheme and decor will be replaced. (Currently there's a holdup with the very touchy George Lucas organization over these plans, but they still should meet the October deadline.)

The Jedi Training Academy is the testosterone-laden version of the Princess Fantasy Faire, with little boys given the opportunity to train with an official Jedi on the fine art of lightsaber fights and generally brave behavior against an evil enemy. The highlight for this event is when the Tomorrowland Terrace stage (gosh, that's nice to say, isn't it?) rises up out of the ground and Darth Vader and Darth Maul both emerge from a cloud of fog to test the mettle of the newly trained Jedi's. You can imagine who will win every single battle, and sales of plastic lightsabers will certainly soar. Imagine the thrills (and walloped ankles) thousands of visitors will then experience as the little Jedi darlings get set loose to roam Disneyland with lightsabers in hand, as parents ignore their rambunctious, if not just plain hooligan-like behavior.

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Null Arc and Urban Shocktrooper

That is just wrong. So wrong.  ;)

Excellent paint job on the ATRT driver. The pilot helmet was a good choice here and I like the play between red and darker red/black on the armor. Very nicely done.

Good idea.

These are all fantastic designs. I'm very impressed with the level of creativity you guys presented. I like them all.

One thing that makes me wonder is how easy it will be to make multiples of these guys. Some of these parts may not be as easily available as others.

These first buildings should be small experiments. They may or may not be used in the final diorama. They should be used for trying out techniques and materials and deciding how we want to bulild the real buildings and how they are going to fit together.

Ok guys. We need to start cracking on construction this month. What I would like to see is two to three people make a concept building to match the ones drawn up over in the concept and planning thread. Then I need a tutorial on how to make more of these buildings.

Construction materials (such as foamcore) need to be discussed. Ryan please head up the construction of these test concept buildings. We only need one from each person and nothing huge or elaborate. Just something we can build off of.

I got a note that Chewie will be absent for a while. No details. In the mean time, I will take over his responsibilities as production leader for the UGP until he returns.

Cool. DD when can we see the pictures from ComicCon?

I'm still amazed on how well your casting comes out. It looks perfect everytime. I still make a mess but I do occasionly get a decent cast. I've used up my first set of silicone. At least the liquid plastic doesn't get wasted as fast. I've got to buy more supplies.
