12" Figures / Re: 12" Plo Koon
« on: April 8, 2005, 02:43 PM »
I think Jokafobe is right.  Plo Koon was planned as an exclusive, but the deal never materialized.  There was a low production number because of that and they were only available through a couple of online outlets.

I got mine on eBay for a BIN that was fairly resonable (compared to what this figure goes for now)!

So Chewie...you're making SE photnovels now?????   ;D

I'll check out what you're talking about, JediMac....I haven't had a chance to yet today.  I honestly don't know how may photonovels there are, I just threw out the idea of them having their own place.

The Original Trilogy / Re: Fun with the Military!
« on: April 8, 2005, 12:03 AM »
I've tried to analyze the Attack on the first Death Star using the Doctrine and Strategies I've learned in my 12 years+ of Air Force experience.

All I can think of is that 2/3 of the Republic fighter pilots are completely retarted!  WTF were they thinking just flying around behind the lead ship in the trench so they could be shot at???  Why not set up a CAP over the trench and keep all the TIEs out of the area??

Other Collectibles / Re: Jedi Mickey plush from SW Weekends

I wasn't planning on it.  Someone over at RS said they were going to try and get me one.

I just thought it was kind of odd that they're showing up already on ebay.

I think ebay is your best bet with this.  Just make sure it has all the parts, I got one a while back and it was missing the small black hatch at the bottom.  :-\

12" Figures / Re: Marmit Figures.

I got a Marmit Fett figure off of ebay not too long ago for about $150, and I think it's awesome!  The detail on this figure is incredible.

I ordered one of these from abc-express.  Judging by the quality of the Medicom Luke, this figure will kick serious ass!

12" Figures / Re: Will there be 12" figures for Episode 3?
« on: April 6, 2005, 11:18 PM »
Nice Pics Jadesfire!  I have the Ultimate Vader, Grievous and Sisious, but haven't opened them yet.

The only 12" figures I have displayed right now are my Marmit Fett and Medicom Luke.

How about setting up a section just for the photo novels people put in the customs thread?

I wouldn't want to pull traffic away from the forum that highlights incredible customs that everyone in there does, quite the contrary.  I think a separate section would highlight the custom work more and for those of us that also read the photo novels, their own section would make it easier to read previous ones, since many are parts of a series.

Just my two cents.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Rebelscum Spam Mail? WTF???
« on: April 6, 2005, 10:41 PM »
I've been a member of those Forums since June 2000 (Back from the old BHC days), and I've seen a steady decline in the quality over there.  A few over there think it's due to the influx of new members because it's a movie year.  I think the lack in quality in the forums started when they were moved from BHC to RS.  Although I'm still a member over there, and still have no intention of completely leaving (although a bunch of my friends have left/been banned I still have a lot over there), but I also felt the need to start a member ship over here instead of just lurking.

Now I applaud Dustin for coming out and saying he's going to try and do better, but the proof is in the pudding.  I made a post in the forum Princes sarted, and I'm kind of curious to see if Philip will respond, although I don't think he will.  I hope it's a wake-up call for him and he'll turn it around.  If not, I get to bug all of you over here!   ;D

Collector's Tips / Re: Starcase

Thanks for the info again Bobafett14.  I also hope that Protecto-Pak will make a case to protect these as well.  I think they are a superior product.

Collector's Tips / Re: Displaying
« on: April 6, 2005, 10:06 PM »
Right now, my carded and loose figures are being displayed in rubbermaid bins.  Before I moved, I used to pushpin my MOMC on the walls of a closet I had removed the doors off and my loose figures were all on stands on the top shelf od said closet and along te top of my desk.

I do have some stuff displayed now.  I have a couple of the space ships (the two ROTS Jedi Starfighters, ARC-170, and Obi-Wan's AOTC fighter) on top of my Armoir along with my 12" Biker Scout and Speeder bike.  I have all of my movie posters up on the wall in my living room (tomorrow I add one!), and my computer room has my SW NASCAR cars, and all the plush buddies and the Jedi Mickey Mouse set up in various places.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Wal-Mart "Early Bird" Exclusive
« on: April 6, 2005, 09:53 PM »
I don't know.  I kind of like the vintage nod that this kit and these figures are.  I think this is an attempt by Hasbro to bring some pure vintage collectors into the newer lines.  I'm relieved that they aren't going to be copies of the original figures I got when I was a 7 year old kid back in 1978, but again, I like that there is some vintage attributes to these figures.

I'll hold final judgement until I have these figures in-hand, but right now I don't feel like I wasted $30.
