And that will negate it being my personal standard due to Hammi's short stature.

Good point.

This was one of the more fun years of collecting for me, and most expensive. I'm glad we had a year like this, but I hope the remaining years are a bit more mellow, but with product just as easy to find.

Don't forget we're getting an SA pilot body with the next wave of VOTC. That'll be my standard pilot body. I'll be slapping some heads on that one. ;)

Syriana is awesome! Saw it last night a nd loved it. It takes a while to build, but once everything starts to connect, it really sucks you in.

Trivia about the film, but not mentioned in the film: Syriana is the name of a country the U.S. was going to form after dividing up Iraq, but the plan was since abandoned. Dispite the fact that the film is a fictional tale, it is based off of actual events stemed from extensive research and first hand accounts of CIA operatives. Truely amazing.

I'd be over most figures really. And, I'd love to entertain thoughts like this, but due to how the exclusives system works, the odds on getting something like this are very remote. Great to hope for, but dissapointing when reality kicks in.

Has anyones else noticed that it looks like both Reekin and Derlin are packed with the uber-small rebel blasters?

Wanted to refresh this question. I'm slightly concerned about this.

I got to see this wave up close and personal yesterday at a shop here in LA. I know for a fact that they were not purchased at retail, so don't get excited. I thought the Han and Leia looked awesome. Bib was just okay and can't say I'm a fan of the Fett kit bash.

Hey Jesse, I listened to a lot of the show and was lucky to be in the car when Howard was giving his last speach. However, it's three hours later so I strongly suspect that much of his speech was cut or censored. Was it? I got the impression he was letting some swears fly due to some very abrubt edits. Do tell.

I actually felt that if it was longer it could have been better because what I missed were some character details after they got to the island. If those were added, I would have been happy to sit though another hour. I agree some of the action sequences were too long and quite frankly wore me out, I haven't figure out a good fix for those yet. What I thought was funny about the running time was that King King moved faster for me at 3 hours than The Squid and the Whale did at 1 1/2 (excellent movie BTW.)

I've always felt that the Frankenstein thing was the whole crux of the King King story though. I went in hoping for it. :P

One of my major gripes was that the Captain kept coming to the rescue on the island and the first time wasn't very motivated. I think that's a sticking point just because that's a story flaw I've personaly learned to recognize and correct with my own work. I would have corrected it in Kong by having the first mate rescue the film crew at the tribal thing, he was at least semi-motivated to do it. I think it would have been a greater character moment for the Captain to rescue them at the log scene showing that he's broken down to care what happens to the others. Sure it would have stole a little thunder to the actors momment, but I think they could have shared the moment.

I still LOVED the movie though.

I saw the Squid and the Whale last night. If you like Character driven films, this is for you, and the performances were outstanding accross the board. I loved it.

PJ really made the Carl Denham character an ass-hole.  Which he really wasn't in the original film.  Minor gripe since I liked his character in the '33 version, as well as the old Son of Kong movie.

Was it the same actor in Son of Kong?

It's funny, I think the original character was superficial enough to leave room for interpretation because he came off to me kind of - sees the bottom line as #1 - kind of guy which means a-hole to me. But, you're right, Jack Black's version went deeper and darker. I kind of dug it to a point, but I do think that it's a flaw of the film that he didn't walk away from the expeince too affected.
