The Prequel Trilogy / Re: prequel races in the ot?
« on: June 3, 2005, 01:49 PM »

there's a whole bunch of races of creatures and characters introduced in the pt not in the ot. what happened to all of them?

That's the whole problem when you go backwards. Your imagination keeps going forward.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Jedi After Episode 3?

I love entertaining the thought that several jedi went into hiding. It's what what the Star Wars saga is about, reading between the episodes and imagining what happened between them.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Can Sith Beat Titanic?

I like the point Matt made on Empire.  I have always found it extremely ironic that Empire is the best one, and it has made the least amount of money.  How can that be explained?  Wild!  I'm guessing that it's a generational thing.  Most of us who say Empire was the best were probably between 6 aand 10 when it came out, and we didn't have the bank to see it as much as we would have liked (however, that didn't stop us from begging our parents everyday!! ;D ).  As we got older and started making money, it was easier to see Menace, because that was more within our immediate control.

Actually, I think Matt's assesment has more to do with quality. Because ESB was a quality film, it made the least money. Not to insult anyone, but the fact is is that people don't always like intellectualy films. They usually go to a movie to have a good time, not to get emotionaly bumbed out or have to think about what's going on. ANH was fun through and through, it was the ultimate crowd pleaser. ESB was a differnt experience, a darker one, that's why it didn't perform as well financially.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: When will we see pics of new stuff?
« on: June 3, 2005, 01:08 PM »
Personally, I don't think we need any more "new" figures.  Finish the second half of the year with clone repacks / redecos.

AT-TE Tanker gunners, SA clones in different flavors, the new AT-RT clone, clone commander tooling in different colors, hell - throw in the #6 clone in different colors too.

This is one of the best observations ever.

Conventions / Re: 2005 San Diego Comic Con

I'm thinking I'm gonna hold off till 2006 ComicCon. A little too close for me to raise a comfortable amount of cashola beforehand. I'd love to go, though.

I'm sure I'm going. Haven't made arrangements, but I can't see why it won't happen again.

Power of the Force 2 / Re: The Beginning of POTF2

At the time I was collecting Playmates Star Trek line,

Same here. I was also working on Star Trek at the time. Strangely, this is where I heard my first rumor of the return of the Star Wars line.

I was frequenting a store called Puzzle Zoo in Santa Monica and got to know one of the store attendants. He turned out to work as an extra and happened to work one week as a stand-in/extra Klingon. While we were chatting on set he broke the news to me. After that, I was done. I found out everything I could abou the line and haven't stopped since.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Who's got the best burger?

In-n-out is unquestionably the heathiest of burger if the burger chains, but My personal fave is Wendy's.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: VOTC and OTC Returns in 2006!

More VOTC and OTC stuff would definately make me happy. I just hope they pace the release is this comes to pass.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: What figures are hard to find now?
« on: June 2, 2005, 12:33 PM »

1 - #23 Red Guard (was always hard to find though)
  2 - #23 Blue Guard
  3 - #18 C3PO
  4 - #11 Darth Vader
  5 - #17 Battle Droid
  6 - #6 Clone Trooper
  7 - #9 Grievous
  8 - #28 Anakin
  9 - #13 Dooku
10 - #12 Palpatine

I would say this list goes for my area as well, but I have to say that the #6 clone pops up the most often out of all of those (belive it or not.)

Revenge of the Sith / Re: New pics of 51-56

Thanks for the link. ;)

Looks like the Turbo Tank drivers weapon is a projectile launcher and I hope there's some articulation surprises under Obi-wan's robes.

I hope there are no more changes.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Post your ROTS reviews and thoughts!

Wow...there's definitely a trend of people who were all into spoilers not liking this film and those who tried to avoid them liking it.

I'm glad I resisted the temptation.

I resisted spoilers as well and kept fairly spoiler free, but I still agree that this is the wrost of all 6.

Revenge of the Sith / Clones and new sculpts. Is it necessary?
« on: June 1, 2005, 12:19 PM »
All of the new clones we get are new sculpts. This is one case where I'm of the opinion that Hasbro could just rehash the SA bodies for each one to give them all maximum articulation. Why do you supose this isn't already done? Do you even agree?

Revenge of the Sith / Re: RotS - Deluxe Figures
« on: June 1, 2005, 12:12 PM »
Has anyone found a set of clones with the markings?

I did yesterday morning(May 31st). The standing clone with the red markings.

Did you happen to catch the rotation number on the box Rob?

FYI, according to EE, one of the wave 3 revisions will have 2 clone 3packs per case. Makes sense.
