Jesus Christ, I was just pointing out that he was acting like and ass in his post.

He was being a smartass and I was calling it how I saw it.

Sorry 'bout that cockbite. Just for you, I'll type a bit better.

Smarty

Didn't you get a suspension recently for acting like that?

It's kids that act like you that make life so difficult for so many people.  Just accept the statement for what it was worth, close your mouth and go about your business.  Take a little criticism, grow some thicker skin, and get over it.

And that same stuff gets drilled to the students as well... ::)

Yup, but you try to be creative in your approach to teaching so it is interesting to the kiddos.

Where do you teach?  I'd love not being forced to teach to a state test all the time.  That gets drilled into us for the entire staff development each year.

Good luck starting off in high school.  Teaching is more demanding than anyone will ever know that hasn't done it before, but it's also well worth it.

As for me, "back to school" this year has been something I've been dreading.  I've had a busy summer dealing with the passing of my father in law and purchasing a home, so I haven't really had a chance to rest from last year. I also transferred from one school district to another so I've had to move all my classroom stuff.

Teachers went back to work in my district on Monday, and many went back on the 27th of July if they were elementary or new teachers.  Lucky for me, I've got some expirience and was able to miss out on most everything the new teachers did.

However, I'm getting more in the groove and ready for a new year of challenges.  I really like the place that I transferred to and it is a more upbeat and less stressful school that where I was before.  So, I'm having mixed feelings about school starting back.  I'm excited for the new kids, but also still a bit worn out from a summer that didn't last very long.

Next year though, Texas teachers will have until about the third week of August for vacation with the new legislation saying kids can't come back until the 4th Monday of August.  Woohoo!!

This is the last figure I need to complete my basic run of Han on each cardback, before I get into variations.  Can anyone hook me up for a decent price?

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Too Much Stuff?
« on: July 16, 2006, 11:06 AM »
I reached this point several months ago but was too overwhelmed to do anything about it.  Over the past two years, I've thinned out my collection, mainly Saga figures as I had been collecting every basic carded figure from 1995 onward.  I had chosen to sell different pieces here and there and just make a little cash to fund more figures.

Then, my wife and I bought a house.  I thought great, now I'll have the room I need.  But as I was boxing the stuff up for the move, I started asking myself, why the hell do I have all of this.  I don't really want it and it is just taking up a ton of space and doesn't do anything for me.  I decided once we got moved, most of the collection was headed to eBay.  I had over 80 clones and decided to keep about 20 and sell the rest.  I'm also getting rid of most of the modern part of my Han Solo focus.

I have sold ships, 3 packs, custom figures, lots of loose figures, unleashed, and a number of other things.  I have cut back to where my entire collection fits on one wall of my study.  I still need to relist a few things that didn't sell in round one on eBay but that will happen when I return from vacation.  I decided I would continue my vintage Han Solo focus and that would really be all I needed from SW.  I'm also working on building BBI/Dragon military figures because these hold a special place in my heart...some of you know what I mean by saying that.

Vintage Kenner / Re: One to go
« on: July 15, 2006, 05:57 PM »
Good score.  I still need Yak Face to finish my loose set off.  I managed to score and EV9D9 and Barada in the same auction for about $50 a few years ago.  The EV had one arm missing.

Customizing Tips and Tricks / What would you do???
« on: July 4, 2006, 10:44 AM »
Recently my wife and I have bought a house and have finally gotten moved in. I was trying to decide how much of my collection I really wanted, and how much I should sell. Included in that were my customs. I have two completed ships and one I've been working off and on for about a year on. I've got a ton of stuff about to head to eBay, and a lot of it is my modern Han collection.

I had a custom gunship and wa on the fence about either selling it or trashing it. When it was moved, it apparently got jarred pretty good and is now headed to the trash bin. My other custom was a sandspeeder based loosely on the unproduced Kenner version in the 80's. (If you want to see it, you might be able to run a search here or head over to FFURG to the vehicle section.)

I'm not sure what to do with the speeder. I don't really think I want it because it's taking up space and much of my interest lately has turned away from SW and custom projects. Anybody been in the situation before? What did you do?

Is it just me, or does it seem as if the announcers for the game have been all about Miami?  It seems as if most of the series they've announced as if the Mavs are just another team on the floor and the Heat are the best and blah, blah, blah.  I get sick of hearing announcers who favor one team over another.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: If You Lost Your Collection....
« on: June 13, 2006, 04:51 PM »
If I were to loose my collection, I'd take the insurance money and move on.  I might restart my Han focus, but I don't know for sure.  But there would definately be some SW stuff still around the house.  I've tried selling all of my POTF2 collection lately and can't get it sold for a decent price.  I'm not even looking to get back what I put into it.  I've managed to sell my EpI and POTJ though.  Back to the question though, I'd be upset that my collection was gone, but I can replace it.  Afterall, it truly is just plastic and cardboard.

I'd take the insurance money though and buy either this a Glock 19 compact with a laser site.

And when that was done, I'm hooking myself up with a Demarini 34/30 softball bat.

Modern Classifieds / Massive Collection Cleanout!!!!
« on: May 29, 2006, 12:02 PM »
I'm trying to get a most of my modern stuff sold off and I really, really want to let go of my POTF2 figures.  I've linked to an old eBay auction of mind that is obviously over.  You can take a look at the pictures there.  I probably should have sold the set at $400 or so like the bidding ended at, but I didn't...stupid me.  I'm looking for an offer on the set.  I'd like to sell it as a whole preferably, but will consider breaking up pieces if the price is right.  I really want to get rid of it as a lot so I'm not trying to keep tabs of stuff that I still have and don't have.  My wife and I are finally moving into our new house in three weeks and I really don't want to drag this stuff with me.

Can somebody hook a brotha' up? :D   Shoot me a PM if you are interested.

Like the title says...I'm looking for a Commander Cody and a Scorch. I'd prefer more than one Scorch so I'll trade the figure with cash.

That's a great looking uniform.  You are planning to roll around in it a bit aren't you to add a little "authenticity" to a poor Confederate soldier aren't you?

Being that I tend to follow WWII/modern military trends a bit more, what kind of weapon are you toting in those pictures?  Judging from the size of the rear site, I'm guessing an Enfield?
