That Mando helmet came out GREAT!  Nice work Glassman  ;D

I also love those custom carded 12-backs, they look perfect.  I can't wait to see you tackle ESB  :)

Nice work Phalanxx!  Master_Gunzz did an excellent job on casting/upsizing that figure and your paint job definitely does it justice.  Excellent work you lucky dog you!  8)

I prime most of my figures, but that's just because I think the paint looks smoother that way.  It does help a bit with chipping, but it really depends on the figure.  Like I said before, none of my microman joints have chipped yet (knock on wood), but I doubt that has anything to do with my priming the figures first.

Citadel Paints my friend, accept no substitutes  ;)

Oh my god, that guy is awesome CHEWIE!  I've been lurking a lot lately but I have to post to say that this guy rules, I can't believe how incredible he looks.  Just wow.  Great work CHEWIE, you have managed to raise the bar yet again.  :)

Customs Community and Group Projects / Re: other sites
« on: March 10, 2006, 11:29 PM »
My main "base of operations" is www.TheJawa.com (I'm the customs moderator there) but we only have a few regular posters.
I definitely think that JD.com has the best bunch of customizers out there, I love the real community vibe here and, aside from the high level of talent, there are also great comments on everybody's customs.

I also have accounts at www.FFurg.com (haven't posted there in a while, I probably should - they're a great customizing community as well); www.GalacticHunter.com (I usually update my customs page here, but most of the customizers at GH.com post here too, so I usually comment here instead); www.CommandoCustoms.com (I just post my Microman customs here); www.RebelScum.com (I post random things but mostly use the forum for the Trades Section, if at all); www.SandTroopers.com (hardly post here anymore); and of course, www.thejawa.net/NJSWCC (New Jersey Star Wars Collector's Club - it's pretty much just me and Mitch (aka Tykrazen))

I find it hard to keep up with so many different forums.  Nowadays I focus on TheJawa.com; NJSWCC; and JediDefender.com.  I like the other sites and they have great people, but it takes way too much time to keep up with everything.  :-\

Has anybody received anything from Yestertoys.com?  I posted before, but I'll ask again because I would cautious ordering from them.  I e-mailed them last week and still have not yet received a response.  I heard they had gone out of business last year and they have not updated their web site since then.
Anyway, if anybody receives anything (response/products) please let me/us know because, while their service sucked hardcore, their prices were too good to pass up.

Also, these Rykrofs are looking great, I need to find my Endor Rebels before I can try anything though  :-\
I think that the Obi-Wan definitely looks like an older Rykrof, but you just need to trim and darken the hair.  It's cool to see different heads for Rykrof that still look like him.

Well, I have an extra ROTS Dooku cape if you want it.  Send me a PM  ;)

Nice work In Rem.  The only change that I would make would be to give him a softgoods cape (maybe the ROTS Dooku's cape).
What did you use for the belt?  Is it sculpted?  It's a nice touch.

Great update CHEWIE, my favorite is probably the Mace Windu, I really like the added articulation and the use of the Sora Bulq body.  Great combination there.

Aayla Secura in CW Armor is interesting, although the skirt looks a bit too Shaak-Ti-ish for me.  I think that the thinner Clone 3-pack legs would work since they are a bit thinner, although that would require a lot more modifications to attach the knee joints.  That being said, your explanation of the template armor makes sense, although I'm sure that the Jedi had access to different sized armor (after all, the jedi were different height/weight from Jango and they apparently wore the clone armor).

The XD head on the Hagen Daas Jedi is very good.  The pose, while limited, definitely works for that head, I agree that he looks "battle-hardened."

The Mace Windu in CW armor is cool too.  I am really digging these armored jedis, I think I'll have to make a few.  Great update as always CHEWIE!

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Aayla Secura naked! - wip

I think the "new" GW light blue is called "Ice Blue" nowadays.  I'm not sure if it's a new color or not, but I don't remember it from back in my WH40k days.

Do you think the crew at Yestertoys is wondering why the hell the Saga Endor Trooper w/Beard is now suddenly the hottest figure they have?   :D

I'd be careful when ordering from Yestertoys.com
They have tons of negative feedbacks on eBay and I had heard that they actually closed down last year.  They haven't updated their web site in a long time.

I ordered a ton of stuff from them in the summer of '04 and about half of the time they shipped my correct order, but the other half of the time I would have to call them and talk to Tom about the mess up (since they hardly answered their e-mails).  I sent them an e-mail a few days ago just to see if they were still around and to ask on the quantities of a few figures, but have so far not yet received a response.

Anyway, I hope they are still around because, even considering their crappy customer service, their prices are too good to pass up.

Great work, especially on that Vader upgrade.  How did you extend the limbs?  I was thinking about trying that but wasn't really sure how to go about doing it.

The repainted faces look really well done, especially that Yoda.  I can't wait to see what you do with Admiral Ackbar.

I upgraded some of my 12" hasbro figures - I think a lot of the figures, especially the Imperials are perfect candidates for upgrades since the uniforms were pretty well done.  Are you going to upgrade any of the Imperial Troopers?  I did body swaps/glove swaps on all of the troopers and I really like how they turned out, especially the Scout Trooper and Snowtrooper.  I would love to see how you tackle those figures, especially since you are doing so much more than just body swaps.
Great work, I can't wait to see "wave 2"!

Congrats on the Best Custom Vehicle Award Spectre!  I always liked that Warthog that you made.

I also really like these M.A.M.B.A.s that you have been making.  The only thing that I would do differently would be to replace their heads with regular battle droid heads, maybe with some slight modifications (like how the Super Battle Droids have regular battle droid type heads build into their torsos).  Still, since you're going for the G.I. Joe-Star Wars crossover, the Cobra B.A.T.s heads work fine.  Very cool backstory on these guys too.

I really like this "armored" Kit Fisto.  The color scheme on the robes looks awesome, although I think the white armor looks a little off.  I think maybe painting it grey (like Saesee Tinn's Animated Clone Wars armor) would be more fitting with the green robes.
