Re: Surfing the Net Behind a Firewall at Work? HELP NEEDED!
« Reply #60 on: September 3, 2003, 11:34 PM »
My advise is to stop surfing the net at work!
You weren't hired there to surf in the first place but the occasional "look" isn't a big deal.  When you find yourself having more time to surf the net than do work then there is a problem... at least that is what we have found with some people at the bank! :P

Darb's MS Word Hell
« Reply #63 on: November 4, 2003, 12:47 AM »
Maybe someone out there can help me. I've been having a problem with Microsoft Word. The computer freezes everytime I load it. Then it says the system is dangerously low in resources, or, there isn't enough memory for Word. My computer has 65% of its resources free. I talked to some computer buds and they told me to delete Word and reload it, ditch any extra stuff I don't need on my computer. I did that.

Nada.

Does anyone know what I can do?

 :(

Run Scandisk/Defrag...

Simple answer I know, but I bet it helps...  It always helps me when I'm having PC troubles that give me the same message you're receiving.

I forgot to mention earlier I did this, also.  When I did it this time, it said it couldn't continue because of some error or another.     :(

How screwed am I?

DId you check the Microsoft website???

http://support.microsoft.com/

I'd also do a search on Google and input your exact error message, hopefully something comes up that way

Spuffy, what applications do you have running when trying to open up Microsoft Word?  Is Word the only program you have running?  If you would like to chat you can chat with me via AIM or Yahoo Messenger.  I'd be happy to help you out with it if it hasn't been resolved by now.

Java Problems
« Reply #73 on: November 8, 2003, 07:56 PM »
Well for all you tech savvy out there...

A few days ago, I was on a Java Based chat site, dont remember what, and I was prompted to install a Java Runtime Environment. I did, and now things just arent the same. I've since uninstalled it in Control Panel, but Im still having problems with sites that use Java.

For instance:
On Rebelscum, when I try to log in (I downloaded Netscape just now in hopes things would work), I cant get logged in.

Cartoon Network, the Clone Wars Cartoon "Choose Your Own Jedi" Java app doesnt work

Custom.StarWars.com: Photo menu doesnt load in IE 6, submit (I click on a photo but it does nothing, kind of like the above login problem) doesnt work with Netscape.

Any help would be appreciated!

are you getting any specific error messages, or are things just not working?
