Renegades Character Designer Passes Away

We received word from Hasbro that G.I. Joe: Renegades Character Designer Clement Sauve passed away at the young age of 33, after a brief illness. With the success of the show, it must have been very satisfying for Mr. Sauve to see his work so well-received by the fans. Our sympathies go out to his friends and family.

Qui-Gon Returns From The Netherworld


Entertainment Weekly floored Star Wars fans with news that not only will Qui-Gon Jinn make a couple cameos on The Clone Wars this season, but he'll also be voiced by none other than the actor who played him, Liam Neeson! This is huge news, and will be interesting how it ties into Kenobi's surprise at the end of Revenge of the Sith.

The guys at Rebelscum got word that The Vintage Collection Wave 5 was found in Florida, complete with a photo of them... but where is the Attack of the Clones (Wave 4)?

UPDATE: And just like that, tonight we got word and pics from forumite Aucassin that he spotted the Attack of the Clones (Wave 4) tonight at a Colorado Wal-Mart. Let's just hope Wave 5 doesn't bump Wave 4 out completely.

TRU.com Royally Screws Collectors


Our forums are abuzz over Toysrus.com cancelling preorders for the Battle of Endor Pilots sets weeks before they were to be released. No real word from TRU as to why this happened. With increased SW prices and this recent screw job, there are many collectors not too happy with them right now.

Target Price Increases?


Word is that Target has followed Toys R Us in jacking prices up on the Star Wars basic figure lines. So far we've heard that people are seeing Vintage Collection for $8.99, and Clone Wars/Legends bumped to $7.99. With these price-hikes, it's no wonder sales have slowed on the Star Wars brand.

In our Q&A Round 88 with Hasbro, they hinted at us that we indeed would get a new Dagobah Luke... from a certain point of view. Well the Vintage Collection Forums are alight with an image that surfaced from China of this new version, which will seemingly be Luke Skywalker (Dagobah Landing), in his flight gear but lacking the gloves and hood.

More Wal-Mart Discounts


Hot on the heels of reports that the Wal-Mart TIE Bomber was discounted, this evening I saw the Clone Wars DVD 2-Packs marked down to $11 each. I also noticed that the G.I. Joe: Pursuit of Cobra line was marked down to $5 per figure at my nearby Wal-Mart! Happy hunting for these deals, which will vary greatly, as I've not seen the TIE Bomber one myself.

Just a little reminder that The Clone Wars makes its return at its new 8:30 pm time slot this Friday, January 7th. This return kicks off the Nightsister Trilogy, and is shaping up to be an exciting return to the series that was getting pretty mundane for most of Season 3.
