New Review: Power Droid
And the Hoth Wave wraps up this week with a figure that not only saves Hasbro some money but makes collectors happy. For once, a winner all around? More droids are always welcome in the line, and fortunately they're not the most expensive items for Hasbro to make and fans to enjoy, so this one was one of my favorites so far for a number of reasons.

New Review: AT-AT Driver
Time to round out the Hoth Wave reviews, and it's my pleasure to have reviewed this week's specimen, the all- new AT-AT Driver. With 2006 being a disappointing year for articulation overall, the AT-AT Driver's near super-poseable status and superb detailing were a breath of fresh air. In this reviewer's opinion, this figure's articulation is what the basic line's minimum standard articulation count should be.

Defender Wishlists 2006: A New Hope
For the last couple of years we've run an informal poll with your 10 most wanted characters from the current Star Wars Films. Continuing the tradition and trying to finish up before Comic Con 2006, we thought it would be a good time to revisit those lists. Here's how it works: You send your Wish List for ten 3 3/4" Figures to Scott or post them here, be it new figures, resculpts or even re-releases and we'll tally the votes. After four weeks of list taking, we'll publish the results and move on to the next movie.
We'll continue with Episode IV: A New Hope. If you need help coming up with names check out the Official Site's Databank for Episode IV. Have fun and thanks for sending in your lists (remember to limit it to ten)!

Previously announced as the Revenge of the Sith "Greatest Hits" wave, this 2006 Saga sub-line will include 12 repackaged Revenge of the Sith Figures (as shown on the Clone's cardback) and is due this spring.

Super Articulated Sandtroopers
By photos that surfaced in our forums once again, it seems like the upcoming Sandtrooper figure may sport the sculpt of the Vintage Original Trilogy Stormtrooper figure. That's right, we may have a nice super articulated Sandtrooper on the way for the line to team up with our Evolutions troopers. Thanks to JediShawn for the heads up. Hopefully this is indeed the trooper we're getting soon as it is certainly better than the old Commtech Trooper sculpt in every way.

Japanese Action Figure Book Released
 
A unique set of books will be released in Japan focusing on the Star Wars action figures. The first book in the Star Wars Action Figure Database by Takuya Kubo has been released and looks to be quite impressive with its expansive coverage of the vintage figures with sharp colourful images. Unfortunately, it's only being released in Japan; look for volumes 2 and 3 to be released in the spring. Check out this eBay auction for some more images.

European Metal Figures Reach Mexico
The impressive line of lead figures produced by DeAgostini in Europe since March 2005 are getting closer to home after they were recently found in Mexico. They were originally produced in Spain, Italy, the U.K., France and Germany through subscription only, and each figure included a 24 page magazine that thoroughly detailed the character. The reviews keep on rolling here at JediDefender.com, this week taking a stab at all that's right and wrong with The Saga Collection's Princess Leia (Boushh Disguise). Leia certainly ranks as the best in the Carkoon Wave to this reviewer, and she's a sign that figure's in 2006 aren't all going to lack articulation either. Leia has her imperfections though too.
