Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The Avengers (and sequels)
« on: July 11, 2013, 02:34 PM »
Mid-Atlantic? Wikipedia says that applies to upper class types,  film actors from decades ago and theater actors. It's very noticable to Americans when someone talks like, say Cary Grant.

Actual US middle atlantic region includes places like Baltimore, which has it's own accents.

Wikipedia calls the "no accent" I was referring to as "General American". It's commonly used by U.S. newscasters, and not as posh-sounding as Mid-Atlantic.

Enemy at the Gates had the Soviets with British accents, even Ron Perlman's character. It was strange, certain didn't help the movie.

I don't know... if the glowing thing is a sub-dermal shifting kind of thing, it could look pretty awesome.

He is lit up! Should we call  Foxx's Electro "Lighthouse Down?"

There's too many British accents, makes it easy to fail. In the US,  if a foreign (or domestic) actor can master the midwestern "no accent", they'll be okay.

Most people not from the American South suck at southern accents, sounding like parodies.

They'll cast against type and he'll be Egghead. Movie critics will say he lacks Vincent Price's charm, not realizing that the difference between DC and Marvel.

Wasn't this $50 at TRU as well when it first came out? (This updated cockpit version.)

That version had a pilot included.  Since all figures with more than 5 joints are magically $10, that means this release is $10 higher.

I want to see a zombie movie about what happens after they eat all of the humans.  Then what?

They made a vampire movie with a similar premise, DAYBREAKERS. I was one of the few who saw it in theaters. Of course, like all vampire ficition, their spin on things was different. Starved vamps become feral bat-like humanoids.

Maybe zombies discover veganism.

LOLZ.

8. Geezum
9. Ewok victory celebration drummer with imperial helmet drums (that aren't glued to anything!)
10. Imperial Workers (?) in background of Emperor's Arrival (Do decent photos even exist?)

  More "sham-poo bottle" 12" figures? :P

I'm hoping for Sham-Plo Koon and Sham Solo. Dare I say, a Sham-Po Nudo?

For those to lazy to go to the site, there's two of them.

Gee, guess which one will be more popular? Desired scanning box vs. new figures?

The crewman with the lower box has a new head. Can't tell if that's just a recolored Needa head on the officer.

A non-removable helmet stormtrooper, thankfully...ball no hips, bummer.

Meijer clearanced these out at $14.99....it seems. They were all gone, all I saw was a red shelf tag.

I lucked out and didn't luck out, because I found an AT-ST, but it was $15.50 with the 50% off. I got it anyway, along with two more driver sets. No Ewoks to be found. I think that finally does it for the endor exclusives locally (within 30 miles), I hope.

Sad news the 5 Below seems to have stopped stocking Star Wars figures, just a naboo pilot and obi-wan hanging around now.

Yard sale/Thrift store finds:

Cade Bane, first release no accessories

Droid Fighter, missing missiles and half the wings. I had to search to even get 2 out of the 4 wing parts. This thrift's stores toy section has been a mess. I rarely go there, out of my way most of the time (they have a closer location that is actually more digusting). Paid like a $1 and some change for it.
