Hmm. So much for that idea. Good opportunity for the folks who can swing it though.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Toys R Us (Or: Die, Dinosaur, Die!)

It's sad. I loved TRU growing up and obviously have spent an ungodly amount of time there as an adult. More than the end of a business, it's the end of an age and perhaps more concerning, an industry. There are a lot of forces at work against traditional toys as we know them, and the precipitous collapse of TRU promises more upheaval to come.

I don't subscribe to any conspiracy theories or expectations right now. With TRU collapsing there is no prospect of this at retail. HTS? Amazon? Maybe. I highly doubt it. Hasbro is taking a risk by allowing it to fail, but they put the onus on collectors. They gave us something we have been asking for - far too late, probably - and said if you're there, we're there. Collectors aren't there. At least so far. I hope it gets made for the folks that want it.

Oh, yeah, I'd be clearing the decks for this one. I have been downsizing, dramatically. I just don't have the space for this. I could afford it, but it's a bad time because I'm spending that money on something else that's a higher priority. I personally don't think it's that outrageous in price, when you put it into perspective of everything else we buy. To me, it's essentially a shelf - you can go to IKEA and spend $200-300 on something very nice, or buy this and have something cooler.

We'll see. If I sell a book between now and the deadline, I'll pounce.  :)

I like him as an actor, and director for the most part. Could be interesting.

The Sequel Trilogy / Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS)

I like the deleted scene, and the added moment for Phasma, but really the discussion of her lowering the shields doesn't add anything to the scene or the story. We already know it as the audience, and she doesn't suffer any consequences as a result because she kills the troopers, and then appears to die/disappear the same as she does in the film. If the thread had been teased out more, and properly developed - thinking of Kallus right now - then it would have made sense to keep it.

Besides where would I put it?

I think that's probably a key factor in 'where is everyone?' Myself, I have nowhere for it. I can't really afford it, or at least afford it and afford to do other things are really more important. We've all been at this a long time, and there's a lot of real estate both physically and mentally that is occupied by a lifetime of collecting. How much more? Adam Pawlus talks about sometimes wanting the line to take a break. I say it sometimes, and I never do, though when people ask me what I want most from these toys, that's it. I want a break. I want to go away and come back fresh and excited, or maybe just enjoy what I have. There are multiple stresses on the hobby that are producing this moment of shrinking retail, websites, interest and we're all squeezed in the middle.

I'd LOVE to see Ahsoka live action or otherwise. I have so many questions about her and her journey. I keep expecting her to either depart the saga for good, or intersect with the majors in some way and I don't think either is going to happen. At least not in ways I expect. Her searching for Ezra though, and his survival opens a huge potential for an entire offshoot branch of the Jedi Order from Luke's/Rey's that could portend some very interesting stuff if they want to have some fun.

Regarding Pellaeon, there is hope for him it seems:

I don't expect it to be extended/sweetened, but then I didn't expect them to make a barge. If they open it to Europe, it will fund. I think it probably will - I know a few people waiting - but this week will be a real indicator of sustainability.

Was never a fan of the Imperial Gunship. Something about it just felt off. There's a missing link in Imperial/FO vehicles that I always thought odd; you have shuttles and fighters, and AT-ATs, but no dedicated troop transport (unless I missed something). The one in the ST is fine, and I like the fact it echoes the Higgins boats, but I think design wise there should be some linkage. The cargo shuttle from RO is actually closer to what I'd imagine. That ship is great, and would make for an impressive toy.

I would love to see the Ghost though.

Ceremony Han another great choice.

I never abandoned my POTJ Bespin Han. One of all time faves. I have every version out - or I did, sorry, before I moved. I used them all for different little scenes.

Oh, God. X-Wing Luke. That figure is overly bulky and the head sculpt isn't that good, for right now. Great pick.

163
I'd be for a new Endor Han. I'm actually ok with the last 5 POA one, from a looks good just standing there angle. But I'm sure there's a new SA version that would be great. I don't like the soft goods coat, at least with this guy. I'd like a sculpted option.

Very close to mine.

Went with Leia, Lando and the Stormtrooper - could not think of a third off the top of my head.

Totally forgot about Chewie  ::)
