Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The "Original" Star Wars Fans Thread
« on: May 22, 2018, 04:06 PM »
REY IS A MARY SUE! CHINESE WOMEN CAN'T KISS BLACK MEN! ADMIRAL PURPLE HAIR IS A STUPID **** AND UNFIT FOR MILITARY COMMAND! JJ ABRAMS' FAVORITE KEYS ON A KEYBOARD ARE CTRL, C, AND V! THAT CASINO WAS TOO MUCH LIKE THE PREQUELS! Okay I think that's most of the TLJ complaints :P

The Disney films have been far from perfect, and I sure have had both my likes and dislikes about them. But some of the stuff these "purists" are complaining about is just ridiculous. The entire point of TLJ was to train fans to let go, and most refuse to do so.

If you hate everything Disney has it's name on then that is fine. It's all opinion. Disney loves to make a quick buck. But why then is your reaction to hop on sites dedicated to this universe we love and go on and on and on about how terrible it is and how "now I'm embarrassed about being known as the Star Wars guy with the people I know".

I quit watching pro wrestling a few years ago but still frequent some of the sites since I have made good "friends" with other posters. Every week, it's the same thing; show airs Monday night, everyone says it's the worst episode ever, why can't it be as good as it was 20 years ago, people vowing to stop watching forever. Then the next week it's the same people watching and complaining, and spending the rest of the week talking about how much the show sucks. This is what the Star Wars/Disney hatred stuff reminds me of. If it's so bad, why continue to watch? Turn the TV and computer off and go for a walk; you might find a new hobby in the process.

Sidenote, I do love how the Prequels are now well regarded thanks to memes, and children who grew up with them entering the world of the Internet.

In honor of Indy 4's 10th anniversary today, I may have to give this a rewatch to see if I still hate it as much as I did back then.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Jurassic Park Toys

Yeah, this is a good looking line, combining decent articulation with affordable pricing. All I've seen in person are the dinosaurs. I'd love to get some of the classic figures from JP1 to throw in with my Indiana Jones figures, but they're apparently exclusive to Target, and Target hasn't restocked anything outside the initial cases.

LEGO / Re: LEGO 2018
« on: May 18, 2018, 01:18 AM »
New 2018 sets revealed, along with the most ridiculous price to piece ratio to this point. How much of this goes towards the Disney licensing fee? Good grief.

Anakin's Clone Wars Jedi Starfighter = $19.99

Hoth Bacta Tank = $29.99

Advent Calendar (SPOILERS) = $39.99

Snoke's Throne Room = $69.99

X-Wing = $79.99

Imperial Landing Craft = $89.99

Sandcrawler = $139.99

Hmm, do airlines offer wholesale pricing on flights? We could go to Japan to pick this up, then get some SH Figuarts figures while we're there  :D

LEGO / Re: Recent Acquisitions
« on: May 11, 2018, 04:11 PM »
Kind of off topic...

Does anyone have any advice on the effect of temperature on lego pieces?

Iím considering leaving a few organizer boxes in my trunk to work on a custom build during lunch at work But summer is coming and I donít want to warp any parts or cause any other problems. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

LEGO is plastic so I would assume it would be similar to leaving a Hasbro figure in your car. Fine for a few hours, maybe. I personally wouldn't do it.

This is pretty cool and all, but it makes me wonder why Hasbro doesn't just rehash other figures in special packs like they do in the 3.75 inch line. Not counting the 40th Anniversary Collection, the only 6 inch figures I can think of that have seen rereleases/repaints are the Stormtrooper, Sandtrooper, Clone Trooper, and the Han/Greedo Cantina set, and surely there aren't too many people army building 6 inch figures?

The Vintage Collection / Re: 2018 Vintage Collection Wave 1
« on: May 7, 2018, 03:15 PM »
Completely opposite in my area than what Brian posted. Target is the only store to have gotten these, and Snoke is sitting. Oddly he's the only one I need but I haven't pulled the trigger yet due to paint app issues. Jyn and Rey are also hanging around too. Kylo, Hoth Trooper, and the FO Stormtrooper are always the first to go, and I haven't seen those particular figures since I saw them at Gamestop on April 13.

LEGO / Re: Recent Acquisitions

I wound up getting a few random TLJ sets from LEGO Shop for May the 4th to break the $75 threshold for BB-8. The deals were lacking, to put it lightly.

Whoops, I preordered last night at midnight when I was getting all my LEGO stuff out of the way. If I contact EE, do you think they'd change it so I could get the sponsor credit for JD?

Solo / Re: Solo Store Finds and Recent Purchases
« on: May 2, 2018, 12:20 PM »
I've still yet to see any Solo 5POA figures in stores. I've seen the Lando 2 pack and the Maul/Qui Gon 2 pack but nothing else in the yellow packaging. I assume Target sold out and just hasn't restocked, but Walmart just hasn't stocked anything period. Only thing you can buy at my local WMs are lightsabers

I got lucky and got one of these last night. There were 3 total, all in the endcap, and all of them were the error reported by Yakface with no pump handle on the shotgun. So I guess I'm also going to be on the hunt for the corrected version.

Also of note, they all had less than stellar paint jobs on the eyes. I got the most decent one, but the eyes all ranged from "crosseyed" to "derp derp derp"

Hasbro buys Power Rangers franchise from Saban

I wonder if they'll throw Power Rangers into the Hasbro Cinematic Universe mix?

Fantastic. I haven't heard a theater so silent at the end of a movie since Batman vs Superman... but this was a GOOD silence. It was an intense movie.

Last remark deleted. No spoliers please.
