Damn I love this show.

When I first started watching I was a bit skeptical, especially after having watched some of the Clone Wars and thinking that was terrible and not very engaging.  The Clone Wars seemed like while trying to tell a story, the characters felt forced, the action forced, and the story forced.  (Maybe that was a byproduct of Lucas still having some control/input on things).  Anyway, I never finished that series because I thought it was terrible and not interesting at all.

Fast forward to Rebels and I've loved it since the beginning.  My wife was laughing a bit at me last night as I watched the last 20-30 minutes because I was totally mesmerized by what was going on.  I love the way Rebels brings characters from other series in, the play a part, and then leave while keeping the focus on the main characters.  I think that is done to excellent effect.

This weeks episode was one of the best from this series.  I did feel a bit as if Maul was a character thrown in for cool factor, and maybe he was, but he played a cool role.  However, the dude was cut in half 40 years before this series.  Can't he just be dead?  Either way...Vader showing up was awesome and the duel was great.  I think Ashoka survived and that was her disappearing into the shadows just as Maul had done.  I wonder if that will lead to a new story to be told at a later point, or if we are done with that character?

Anyway, I love this show.  I wish I didn't have to wait until the next season to see more.

I look forward to it.  I just hope Lucas has virtually no say.  He really trashed the last one.  I think he's gotten to the point he's trying to have the special effects tell a story instead of enhancing the movie.

I thought this was another great episode.

I can't figure out what is going on with Abraham, except I want to see him kick somebody's ass.  I've always loved Michael Cudlitz as an actor, especially in Southland and Band of Brothers.  Hopefully we'll see that before he meets his demise.

Tactically, they did everything right.  You have to leave security back at your vehicles for your return trip, otherwise it could be an ambush in waiting.  However, the personnel choices left something to be desired and this certainly sets up Glenn for a head bashing.  (Yes, I am well aware in the comics he gets offed).  I love his character so I don't want to see him go.

Bill, I'd guess if you penetrate the brain quickly, there won't be any sound or screaming.  Is it possible to get a clean knife through the eye kill?  Yes...very likely without noise, I doubt it.  But then again, headshots through the eye drop a person on the spot.  There are many, many factors that would go into that.

Jesse, I read the comics up to the abandonment of the prison.  I am of the same thoughts as you regarding spending on comics.  Luckily, I found the 1st volume of the Compendium and read that for around $30 and then turned around and resold it.  Eventually I'll get the other two volumes and do the same thing.

I can't justify spending on one issue after another.

Well, the next one should be good.  The odd number ones are good, the even...not so much. 

Harry Morgan from Dragnet and M.A.S.H. passes away at age 96.

He actually died in 2011.

Finally got to see the movie today.  First, my dad took me to see the OT and now I'm taking my little girl to see the ST movies.  Thought that was cool as a daddy.

Awesome movie.  I can't say that enough.  I freaking loved it.

Han dies!!!  That hit me in the sad feels.  He's been my second favorite (behind Indiana Jones) movie character for 35+ years.  However, it fit with the mentor dying as we've seen in the first movie of each trilogy.  I loved seeing Chewie get pissed off and open a can of whoop ass on his way out.  It was really sad seeing him in the cockpit of the Millenium Falcon all alone. 

It was great seeing the MF finally do all the tricks we've wanted to see it do since 1977.

I thought the intro of Luke was just really, really cool.

Again, awesome movie.  I'd rank it just below ESB.  I felt it was  great mix action and characterization of the OT, the special FX of the PT, as well as having its own feeling.  Great movie and it sucks I have to wait a year and a half for the next installment.

I did have the same question about the RPG.  But at the same time, if we must get technical, Abraham is toting around and M16 and the military transitioned away from that particular model years ago.  The giveaway on that is the flash hider and triangular shaped handguard. 

Anyway, I thought this was a really, really good episode.  (I still want to know what happened to Glenn).  I would hope the story with Darryl and Abraham hasn't run it's course yet as this seemed to develop their characters, especially Darryl.  I suspect it will not end well for the bike thieves.

I also wondered about the guys who were looking for the thieves, who were they?  Being that I haven't read past the fall of the prison in the comics, could that have possibly been an introduction to Negan?  I'm thinking similar to the Michonne intro where they never showed the face but you knew who it was?
