The Vintage Collection / Re: Vintage Collection Rumors

I see where they're making an SM-33 in the Epic Hero Series line.

It'd be nice to get an SM-33 in TVC too, but if they're not planning on making the four kids too then I don't know what the hell they're thinking.  What they've done with the Bad Batch is non-sensical.  Would it kill them to make Omega and the four Bad Batch clones?

If they don't think these will sell at retail, then make these a 4-pack via Hasbro Pulse / Fan Channel exclusive and mark it up a bit.  Not having the core characters in a show and throwing out a random one here and there is just dumb (Hunter for Bad Batch and Ja for Skeleton Crew).

Star Wars Anthology / Re: Rogue Squadron

It sounds like Rogue Squadron is moving forward again with Patty Jenkins.  This could be really cool and I hope it finally makes it out to theaters.

I'm hoping its successful and turns in to a streaming series.

I always loved the Rogue Squadron comics and think that sort of episodic story arc with a bunch of characters could work really well with D+.

That is nuts.  I can't even imagine the amount of money spent.  I'm a little curious to why he is selling.

I'm sure he spent a ton on his collection, but look at the custom display cases in his "basement".  It's gotta be a few thousand square feet with custom glass display cases.  I can't imagine what the infrastructure cost him to house all that sweet loot.

Good to finally see some movement on the Order 66 pack.  7% is a pretty weak discount - I'll keep waiting.

Looks like YakFace is doing a Top 25 for TVC and TBS as well.

Yeah, I've got a couple of theories on some things we'll see happen in the next two episodes...

Two episodes to go and so far its been pretty fun.  I'll be interested to see how it gets wrapped up.

I don’t need two Andor figures, I need three waves.

Agreed.

Sadly, I think all we'll get will be a slightly tweaked Cassian and Krennic which will be 95% similar to what we already own.

I'm hoping the figure selection in '25 is a bit better than overall selection in '24.

Yeah, without knowing what is a repack, kitbash, or all new its hard to get excited.  I'm afraid 70% of this is going to be repack and lazy kitbash.

I'm hoping for a lot more new, and ideally stuff that can fit in to a theme.  One figure from Skeleton Crew isn't going to give us the crew of four kids.

Is the Canada post office still on strike?  I sold a couple Lego sets to a Canadian before Christmas and had to ship UPS because Canada post was on strike.  Had to ensure that it wasn’t one of those UPS options that involves final delivery by the post office.

I got mine setup yesterday.

A few thoughts:
- The setup was easy and intuitive.  A kid could have done this without too much trouble.
- I love the detail.  The paint wash, the exterior pipes and texture, and the bronzing on the engines area all really sweet.
- This thing is massive, and heavy.  Its gotta be 35 pounds or so.  If I were a kid I think wherever my parents set this it would stay.  Not sure 8 year old me would be able to move this very easily.
- I kinda wish it had a stand, but understand why it doesn't as engineering a stand and support within the ship for something this heavy would have been a real challenge.
- I like that we've got a handful of other vehicles and figures made in prior years that can go with this vehicle in a larger Rebels setup.

After the initial rush of coolness I've got some mixed emotions about this.  Its cool, but maybe not iconic, and its so damn big its kinda forced to be a big part of my display.  I hope they keep adding to The Ghost environment - Jacen Syndulla, and other things from Ahsoka as well as maybe Rebels.

I really think the Cantina is going to be a fantastic next option when I think about the real estate involved and the iconic nature of that scene.  I'm a little sad to say that if they keep coming out with massive new HasLab things that The Ghost is going to find itself put on a high shelf unless there is some coolness brought with Ahsoka Season 2.  We didn't get much Ghost coolness in the first season.

Overall I like it, but its probably my least favorite (and its the largest) of the three HasLabs we've had delivered so far.

Sounds like all the Minneapolis based crew is getting / already go theirs today.  Mine just landed.

I'm impressed with the double outer packing.  I bet 15 of the 50 pounds is just outer boxes and reinforcing bits for the packaging.

The Vintage Collection / Re: Airing of Grievances
« on: December 23, 2024, 02:30 PM »
It’s Festivus and time for the airing of grievances.

I’m not sure much has changed since last year.  Still too many repaints, kitbashes, and deluxe / non-deluxe price bull$hit.  This is true of Black Series as well, and not just a Vintage Collection issue.

Still very little support of new media, or really much of anything new.  We’ve still only got a few Andor figures well over a year after the show came out with very little (nothing?) shown in the pipeline.

They did mange to get one big thing right and that is to HasLab The Ghost.

I’m still hopeful at some point somebody with a pulse will be put in charge of the Star Wars line and get the excitement going again.

Not much has changed in a year.  My airing of grievances is pretty much the same - too many repacks, kitbashes, and not enough support for new media.

Although I feel like Hasbro did manage to get a few more interesting things out this year (Cantina HasLab, E-Wing Starfighter, Blurrg).

I finally opened my set the other day.

Anybody use the Mando heads included to do any swaps with other figures (Shriek Hawks?).

Agree with the complaint that leaving the top part and back unfinished is kind of lazy.  How hard / expensive would it have been to close this off with something even super basic but finished looking?  Having a battery with some lights on the fire/forge would have been nice too for a few extra bucks.  A few paint apps or some kind of paint wash would have been nice.

I still feel this is a set I didn’t really want/need, and since they did make it I wish they would have put another $10-$20 in to this to make it nicer.  They could have dropped the tool chest too if they were trying to trade off a few things.

I really expected to get this by now with Hasbro's request to update our addresses by the first week in Dec.  Normally I'm really patient, but I'm getting impatient on this.
