Still as I watch the serious drama playing out across both seasons of Andor, I’m reminded that this show is taking place in the same universe inhabited by Jar Jar Binks and the Ewoks
I think there is room for both - goofy kid oriented stuff and semi-serious Andor-like stuff. I know Mando and BoBF weren't meant to be serious, but the level of storytelling in Andor is orders of magnitude better than what we're seeing in Ahsoka, Acolyte, Mando, BoBF, etc. I know some love Filoni, but Andor is a great example of what can happen when you turn over the keys over to someone else who has real skills.
I also love that there were no Jedis, no Nightwitches, no force sensitive anything (other than the force healer that was more of a hero finder), no magic planets with a special force vergance that can create force wielding people, no genetically engineered people with extra powers, no Joseph Campbell samurai or bear/cub mythos, etc. This was just plain old rebels fighting plain old dictators with kick ass characters in a kick ass story. Sure there is some Joseph Campbell hero's journey stuff, but there isn't anything supernatural about Cassian and the rebels.
Please, please Lucasfilm make more of this - including things like Rogue Squadron, etc. with non-Jedi on great adventures.
