Saga '02-'04 / Target Exclusive
« on: August 7, 2003, 02:07 PM »
I saw on the main page that Target online has the 12" Leia w/ Speeder Bike ($49.99) and the Green A-Wing w/ Pilot ($19.99) for order.

The 12" Leia is in Stock but the A-Wing says "This item is temporarily unavailable"
I am not sure if this means it is out of stock or what!?!

*I will keep on checking so I can grab my X1 Green A-Wing with Pilot.

Toy Reviews / Clone Wars - Gunship
« on: June 25, 2003, 04:48 PM »
I picked up the Clone Wars version of the Gun Ship for $29.99 at Toys-R-Us today here in Indianapolis, IN.

Being a fan of the Gun Ship I decided to buy one. The funny thing is that TRU has the older GunShip on the shelf for $44.99 and the new Clones Gship for $29.99.

Anyways the new release of the GShip is the exact same as the other GShip just re-painted. Where the "Added More Fire Power" is I do not know.

This is prett neat, the GShip has kill markings on the side.

Gun Turrents are from the Clone Pilot Figure. The Ship does not come with them. :(

Toy Reviews / Clone Wars - Droid Launcher
« on: June 25, 2003, 04:39 PM »
Here is the Droid Launcher that I picked up at Toys-R-Us here in Indianapolis, IN. for $10.99 each.

The Destroyer Droid is the same as the one that comes in the Droid Army 3-pack.

The launcher has a strap on the inside that comes out the back. When you pull on the strap it launches the droid out the front.

A side view of the Rolled up droid with the launcher in the back.

Not really that interesting of a toy for adult collectors but a nice thing for kids to play with. Of course I am a big kid so naturally I would buy at least one for my completist collection. :)

Toy Reviews / Clone Wars - Droid Army 3-pack
« on: June 25, 2003, 04:31 PM »
Here is the Droid Army 3-pack that I picked up at Toys-R-Us in Indianapolis, IN. for $10.99 a set.

The Battle Droid has a magnetic waist. So yeah have fun with Jedi cutting him in half. Pretty much the same Droid from the Mace Windu pack.
Standard Battle Droid Articulation.
Made from very soft flimsy platic. *Must use a stand to ge thim to stand up.

No blasting apart feature. Just resculpted a bit.
A nice figure.

It is a Destroyer Droid. Not that exciting for a droid. Just plain and simple.
No articulation in the legs. The arms do move up and down and so does the head.

This is a great set to build up droid armies. I pretty much like this set but I wish there was more to it than just the figures.

Toy Reviews / Clone Wars - Clonetrooper 3-pack
« on: June 25, 2003, 04:25 PM »
Yes the Clone Wars 3-packs / Deluxe figures are out in Indianapolis, Indiana. I picked them up at Toys-R-Us for $10.99 each.

Here is the Clones side by side - Only the White Clones have been found so far. So I am not sure when the Colored Clones are coming.

Too bad that the head only moves left and right. If he could look up this would be one great Clone.

The Sculpts are very nice!

Articulation - Poor! Only the Shoulders, Head, and waist move. The legs are in a fixed position. So minimal articulation. Good for yo army builders who want to make a big display!!

Also no Blaster Effects like the Preview Clone. That would of made this set really great!

I would recomend buying lots of this pack just to make your Clone Army grow.

Watto's Junk Yard / ? about my Clonetrooper... Lifesize
« on: June 17, 2003, 09:54 PM »
Ok, I have a question. As many of you know I buld lifesize Star Wars characters. I have my Clonetrooper Armor which I have had for almost a year now. I recently just started to build a mannequin so I can display my Clone armor as I do with my Stormtrooper. Anyways, here is my question. I do not have a Clonetrooper Rifle for my Clonetrooper. I do have an extra Battle Droid Blaster. Do you think it would be ok if I put the Battle Droid Blaster into the Clones hands or should I wait until I can build or afford a Clone Rifle?

My thought was that this Clone (TC-3778) damaged or used up his blaster and picked up a Battle Droid Blaster. The mannequin that I am building is in a running pose instead of the static post that all my other life size creations are in. So I am thinking it will look alright. But I am worried that the knick-pickers out there will complain. So tell me what you think.

If case if you are wondering what other custom life size characters I have on mannequins...
I have the following:

Stormtrooper (TK-3778)
Ponda Baba
Barquin D'an
Darth Maul
Gonk Droid
Pepsi - Watto
Pepsi - Yoda
Rubies - E2 Yoda
Sith Probe Droid (game) looks nice though

*working on my Clonetrooper.

I also have parts of other character that I have not finished; X-Wing Pilot, Greedo, Han Solo, and Plo Koon.

Well, tell me what you think. Should I go ahead and use the Battle Droid Blaster?

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Clone Wars toys are OUT!!!
« on: June 17, 2003, 09:41 PM »
Hey everybody. Just thought I would let you know now that I have it confirmed that the "Clone Wars" toys are in fact shipping and are being found at Target stores.

Big Dumb Wookie confirms this at a Crawfordsville Target in Indiana but sadly they were taked back before he could buy any.

Also I ran into a guy who at first I did not believe that the CLone Wars toys were out and he bought some at a Louisvile KY Target. Now I do since BDW confirms that the Clone Wars toys are out.

Also today I was at a Target store and I asked about the Star Wars toys. I was told that they are in the back for a promotional type event. I think we will be seeing some adverftisements in the very near future.

The Hunt is on my friends, the hunt is on.

Conventions / Fan Club & Columbus Breakfast
« on: June 11, 2003, 02:29 PM »
Fan Club & Columbus Breakfast - So what do you think of this event?

I for one think it is a nice little idea to get people in to see some fo their favorite personalities and more. Plus you get a toy for purchasing the ticket.

Since I will be in Columbus that week I plan on attending. I already registered at the Piazo site.

So is anyone here going to be there? If so stop me and say hello.

What are your thoughts?

Other Collectibles / Some replicas that I have created.
« on: June 10, 2003, 04:53 PM »
As you know I like to build things. So in the past few weeks I really worked on making some replicas. I made the following: Imperial Code Cylinder, Imperial Comlink, and a Millennium Falcon Concussion Missile.

You can see my in progress images on my site under my Collections section - Star Wars.  www.djsyczylo.net

Imperial Code Cylinder - Many different types were used throughout the sags. I based my off of the images in the Visual Dictionary.

Imperial Comlink

Millennium Falcon Concussion Missile - Though you never really see the missile in the movie I based my design out of the sketches in the Technology & Weapons guide. I just wanted a Star Wars replica that I did not think anyone else has yet to attempt to build.

Saga '02-'04 / Nice Images of Figures & More
« on: June 6, 2003, 07:16 PM »
Has anyone seen the new Entertainment Earth Summer 2003 catalog?
In it they show many of the newer upcoming Star Wars toys such as:
Unleashed, the Re-Packed Figures in the newer assortments, Deluxe Figures, 12" Dolls, Model Kits, Replicas, and more.

Anyways is it nice to see some clear images of the Re-Packed Luke, Darth Vader, Maul, Leia, Han, the new Snowtrooper, Darth Vader Luke, The Clne Wars line of Ships and Vehicles, and much much more. Yes many of the same images of the same toys have been seen before.

Some neat images: - The Jedi Star Fighter that is BLue with the Yellow R2-unit that is on the opposite side.
- Hailfire (Bank Clan) Droid & Geonosian Fighter.
- Loose Figures.Next to each figure they list the name with what it is contained in.
- Unleashed Figures.
... and more.

It is worth picking up this new issue of the catalog.

Well, it is Friday and I need to get ready to go out with some friends.
Just thought I would pass on the news.
