Watto's Junk Yard / Re: What would YOU be interested in seeing?
« on: May 10, 2003, 01:07 AM »
At least, not until Hasbro wins all of our hearts and makes an Unleashed Ewok... then, and only then, Hasbro will "make the world smile" (or is that McDonalds?)

Oh, I can see it now. An Unleashed Ewok would be something like little Wicket having a bad fur day. ;D

Hey Todd, welcome to the party!  Seems like a great place to call home here, so I'm glad you've joined us.  Looks like you brought along a few friends too...  Cool!  8)  Enjoy, and I'll see you onboard!
Grant

Thanks Grant. "Friends" is the only word I'd use to describe Beth & Kevin, and this sure seems like the right place to hang with your friends.

Collector's Tips / Re: Keeping up with figures
« on: May 8, 2003, 03:30 PM »
I use microsoft word and have all of the information for my carded figures in tidy little tables consisting of five columns and hundreds of rows. I have a table for every collection, ie.  Orange Card, Green Card, FF's, Saga Card #1, Saga Card #2 and so on.

In each row from left to right I list the name of the figure, as it appears on the card, then I list accesories/special features/Autographed in the second column. Then I list card # or production number, then release date. Below is an example ONLY:

ANAKIN SKYWALKER    Peasant Disguise    `02`01                   4-02   comPADME’ AMIDAL   Arena Escape   `02`02                   4-02
OBI-WAN KENOBI   Coruscant Chase   `02`03                   4-02
C-3PO                    Purple Version    `02`04                   4-02
KIT FISTO    Jedi Master   `02`05                   4-02
SUPER BATTLE DRO   Autographed   `02`06                   4-02

Collector's Tips / Re: Looking for suggestions

Remove the price tag making sure not to damage card with your finger nail, then wipe off sticky stuff with a clean rag and a little bit of Goo-Gone. When finished make sure all liguid/oil residues are wiped clean from the card.

Nah, keep it the way it is. If people want to discuss Unleashed they know to look in the most recent line available. Persoanlly I think 12" should work this way as well but I can see why it's not due to the enormous amount of people that are into that particular aspect of Star Wars merchandise. Maybe after the Unleashed line has been out for a year or two and it's developed a far broader fan base you could try to give them it's own home.

Thank you guys, I appreciate it. I really like what you'v got going on here, it's very friendly and inviting, something I've not seen in quite some time. Thanks again guys and I promise to do my part to keep this community what you all have taken so much pride in, and that's a close and personal family.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: How Is Distribution?
« on: May 8, 2003, 10:54 AM »
I think that Hasbros distributions stinks, period. It's never been good and the biggest problem is that they base their case assortments off of the assumption that kids are buying a significant portion of these figures when they're clearly not. That and their rule about always wanting to have main characters available to those who may be new to the hobby is just plain rediculous. We have so many incarnations of every main character that theres not enough interest or enough of us to buy them all up when they are released four per case. Just look at that brilliant move they made to re-release LAST YEARS Jango Fett again!!! This is just my opinion please take into consideration, but it really seems obvious to me that there is not enough of a kid fanbase to warrent the case assortments we have seen for eight years. My theory is no more than 2 of a particular figure in a case for more than two case assortments, and if you must release a case that contains twelve different figures then for crying out loud release that assortment four times.

I'm sure there are lots of holes in my theory but considering I've been only pondering this for a couple minutes at any given time whereas Hasbros crack team of yahoos have had eight years to come up with a workable system and to this day seem as clueless as they did back in 95.

These new additions look great IMO. So far this line has really impressed the heck out of me and I can't wait to lay my hands on these two as well as Luke, Ob1 and Palpatine. I hope we get an Unleashed Clone Trooper or Stormtrooper at some point though. Man, just think of the possibilities for a Chewie!!! ;D
