The Vintage Collection / Re: 2025 TVC Wave 3 (New TVC Wave 42)

My case from EE arrived yesterday and finished off the rest of the wave for me.

Baylan is the star of the wave. I wasn't totally convinced of his likeness from some of the early photos, but in person, he looks much better. They did a much better job of capturing his height & likeness than the TBS version. The blue highlights on the armor look great. Baylan seems to have gotten most of the deco budget in the wave. Aside from the lack of a cloak, my only gripe is very minor and is ironically similar to what Rob said about Obi-Wan: his lightsaber blade feels a bit short. It is longer than some of the other sabers I had handy, but doesn't quite feel like it is the extra-long blade that we used. Overall, he is a fantastic figure. I love the cardback too.

The Mandalorian is obviously a good figure. I wasn't convinced we needed this one, but he looks good with the others and is different enough, so it is fine for a repaint.

Obi-Wan is almost a great figure... but like Shin, he is just missing the weathering paint application. The new boots and skirt piece look great with the rest of the parts that were reused from VC290 and give us a really nice Prequel era Jedi-buck that I hope they reuse in the future to crank out a few other background Jedi we haven't seen before. (Just like Nick was mentioning.) Also, I checked his saber after Rob's comment, it does indeed come up a bit short when compared to others...  :-X

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I like Yord. The likeness is fantastic, the body sculpt is great. He could use a tiny bit of weathering but it is not super noticeable. He'll make a great addition to a Jedi shelf.

TV-9D9 / Re: Andor (SPOILERS possible)

The one thing I learned today is that the Niamos song has been present a few times already in both seasons of Andor, just with different arrangements.

Here's what Wookieepedia says about it:
Quote
A version of the song played in a brothel in the Leisure Zone on the planet Morlana One in 5 BBY when the human Cassian Andor visited the establishment in search of his sister.[S1E1] Later that year a more slowed down version was played during a party in the Chandrilan Embassy on Coruscant as senator Mon Mothma talked with her old friend Tay Kolma.[S1E7] In 4 BBY, a faster remix of "Niamos!" was played by a speaker droid at the Wedding of Stekan Sculdun and Leida Mothma at the Mothma Estate on the planet Chandrila.... [S1E3]

How inspired.

Does the color scheme have some Disney significance that I’m missing?

Much like the DL 60th and WDW 50th figures they did, it's just a made-up color scheme that kinda sorta ties into the colors on the event logo - the blue, purple, yellow are supposed to match up to the sparkle colors...

Does the color scheme have some Disney significance that I’m missing?  It feels random for a big anniversary…

Yesterday, I spoke to a shop owner who's been in business for over 10 years and found out his distributors had their shipments from China cancelled. Don't know what he's going to do or how long he'll be able to stay open. It's not like he's got oodles of product stocked up. It's like fate saying "we would prefer you just start smoking again"  :(

Cigarettes are made in America.  You can help the great American cigarette factory worker by buying American.  Trump would thank you for switching.  :P
