Revenge of the Sith / Re: RotS Product Leaks: Already?

At a MN Wal-Mart I saw three Tarffuls, 1 Droid Attack R2, and 1 Spinning Yoda. I only bought Tarfful; the other two aren't high priority so I'll get them later.

Tarfful's sculpt is pretty good, but the paint should be near-black instead of chocolate brown. The articulation, while passable, isn't spectacular.

That's frikkin' fantastic! I love all the clones and army builders, particularly #49, Commander Baccarra--really medieval, and also McQuarrie-esque for some reason. And I'm glad the Wookiee Warrior isn't just a repack from the SP Wook.

Agreed about the Clonetrooper, seeing that SA one on the way makes the first one avoidable.  I'll probably pick up 1 if I see it, but won't be army building with the "quick draw" version.

I was thinking the same thing, though there will be 3-packs to consider as well.

Glad to see Tarkin in the lineup too, I actually don't have the POTF2 one, so it would be neat if they did an "old" variant down the line somewhere of this figure ;).

Great idea! I don't have the old one either, and either way it would be great to have a better-articulated version.

Very nicely done sir!

And I see you have the Action Fleet Gunship. Lucky &*^*&$^. ;)

Great collection, knashdx! Nicely organized as well. :)

So far I know that one Toys R Us is doing it; I'm on board, but it's a bit of a drive from where I live. If one happens closer to home I'll defect.

Last Saturday I went to a convention and one dealer had roughly a dozen basic figures for $10 a pop. He said he found them in some store.

I didn't buy any, for two reasons:
--In a month or two they'll be everywhere, and I'd be kicking myself for overpaying.
--That's the textbook definition of scalping, and I'm not going to support such behavior. I did get $40 of POTF2/EpI/POTJ/CW merch, which likely came from stores as well, but I rationalized that somehow it doesn't count because the stuff is so old now. ::)

So far I've only found the ROTS lightsabers.

If I found leaks in a store, I'd sure as hell buy them. But I'm not going to pay through the nose on the secondary market for figures that will be everywhere in a month's time. I'm eager for them to get here, but not that impatient.

And just for kicks ... PM me, Zod, for I am curious. :)

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: Clone 3-pk ...does it suffice?
« on: March 2, 2005, 06:53 PM »
The cost to tool 3 molds (or more) for 3 figures like they did with the AOTC 3-packs though would actually run the company more.

Can't they just pop new heads onto the previously molded bodies?

Yeah, with what we are getting in the basic figure line with some really well articulated figures, I do think a ROTS 3-pk would be nice to fill out dioramas a little cheaper.

Agreed. I don't need loads of SA troopers when most of them are just going to stand around looking badass. 3-packs serve that function just as well, and are much cheaper per clone.

Scroll down for a list of all toys, vehicles, figures, Unleashed, with some cool new items (like Clone 3-packs (yay!!!) and a "bigger gun" Spider droid). Beware of SPOILERS.

I'm planning some army-building with the clones, however for the basic infantry I'll only get a couple at first. I'll wait until the different versions are out--regular, Super Articulated, "Mission Specific", 3-packs, etc.--before I go ape**** on any one model. For example, I don't want to get stuck with loads of the first basic CT if a later sculpt turns out to be better.

I don't remember if there were any MM sales here in Minnesota the last two times. Besides, for EpI I was just 13, and for EpII I was 16 but without a drivers license. My parents wouldn't have driven me even if there was a MM event.

But this time I'm 19 and I can drive myself if there is a MM. ;D 8)

I'd do a separate Clone evolution 3-pack and include an ARC trooper in it (or Republic Commando even?) with an E2 and E3 Clone...  I'd also do a separate pack then of Stormtroopers showing a Stormie, Snowie, and Scoutie.

Oh man, that is a fantastic idea, Jesse. A clone pack would get large quantities of my money ;) and I'd get at least one Stormie pack.

Muftak's McQuarrie concepts idea is excellent as well.
