Jedi in clone gear is ok as long as that jedi wore that outfit in the tv series. 12" is always ok. Technically, you should be making the item during the group project and not something already made. Work in progress pictures are highly encouraged.

Excellent, thanks for clearing that up  Master_Phruby. Now, to think up another idea... <scratches out his 12 inch Dooku dragon swap too:P>

Since the monthly customizing challange is focusing on playsets this month and next, it was suggested we extend the group project to any character that appeared in the Clone Wars TV series. Since we've seen so many clones, lets try to avoid doing them and focus on other characters that havn't been done to death. There are some cool customs in the creatures that Ventress had to fight in the arena or some of the aliens in the crowd sequence where Anakin tracks down Padme. Maybe those weird looking tribal aliens from vol 2. A kick as Durge would be cool or his IG lancer droids.

You can make modern, vintage or cartoon versions of any character that appeared in the miniseries except clones. No alternate costumes this time around. The two main ones suggested are Snowbunny Padme and Yoda.

The deadline for this is February 28th.

Would that disqualify my 12 inch General Kenobi? Or is it just 3.75 scale? <groans as he gets yet ANOTHER idea for his 12 inch Kitbash/WIP/ walking parts bin figure...calls up the database entries on master barek to see if he could use the asian dragon figures head for yet ANOTHER figure LOL>

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: RichardTheBloody's Custom Figures

Hi all, I've updated my photobucket page with some more pics of a couple other figs i'm working on...I'd originally planned to make a Custom Quinlan Vos out of what remained of Dooku, and a dragon figures head.

http://photobucket.com/albums/b174/Richardthebloody/12in%20WIP/

I may still go that way once i get some sculpey and black paint, but for now it's more or less dead. The same head i was going to use for quin turned out to look quite at home atop the clone trooper armor (it's a "Hit Team Don" head, for anyone interested).

At a glance it looks enough like a young jango to pass for him, at least to me <shrugs

And lastly, here's a pic i took just for fun. I didn't have a 12 inch scale Boga, so i had to improvise tho, hope you like it :D

Does anyone know of a 12 inch figure that either resembles, or was made specifically to look like brad pitt? I'm looking to make a custom figure for my girlfriend...she loves his character from Interview with the Vampire, Louis.

<also i posted this here to bring the thread sorta back on topic LOL>

Wow, a Johnny Depp Jedi...and he can become a separatist, just like in real life...the America-hatin' little Euro-wannabe.

Lookin' forward to a Tom Berenger though...

Oh, and in case you didn't know...Mesa back!

Welcome back man!  Got any new customs for us?;)

I dunno about "action figures" as such, but i saw a 12 inch Dubya figure @ Entertainment Earth...they had the missus too, along with Washington, Franklin, even Princess Di....saw the Washington and Franklin figures and had a couple ideas for custom figs...non SW related tho, basically headswap and give my girl a 12 inch Brad Pitt from Interview with the Vampire <she loves his character for some reason <rolls eyes>

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: 12 inch Jedi Knight Dooku

Looks good man, did you upgrade the body also or is that a hasbro body?

That's the original dooku body. I tore the neck post trying to take the head off originally <was planning on making a jedi luke> So rather than just toss the body, since it was just the one thing busted i swapped dooku's uniform and everything, except the boots, which i couldn't get to fit on the dragon feet, despite having shaved a bit of width off the foot itself. I was fooling around the other night and i managed to wedge a piece of an old Phono plug adapter i was using to make a metal Lightsaber hilt into the neck post that went between dooku's body and the head <there was a hole just big enough for the post stub to fit in...it's not perfect, or pretty, but it holds LOL> Now i'm torn...do i make a custom Quinlan Vos or Jedi luke, leaving dooku on his dragon body as is ?

Looks pretty good. I like it. Any chance of clearer pics?

Sorry about the pix...that's as clear as my palmtop gets unfortunately...it has a 2X zoom, but that just makes the picture bigger, it doesn't enhance detail :(

They look to me like they are a separate piece of plastic - if they aren't intended to come off, they still might come off easily after putting them in hot water for a minute - like Aurra Sing's ponytail or any other "appendage" for that matter.

Is that the SAGA/OTC Jabba's Palace Cape?

 :P

That is indeed the Jedi Luke Cloak. I have three of the OTC version <one opened> and the cape is on my desk right now.. it even curls at the edges the same. The only difference is the hood...

Star Wars Action Figures / 12 inch Jedi Knight Dooku
« on: December 25, 2005, 12:53 AM »
I was working on a kitbash for another figure when i thought "Why not put AOTC obiwan's robe on what was left of Dooku's body?" <i was using this body for a kitbash after i accidentally ripped the neck ball off while trying to get the head free> I added the lightsaber from Bariss Offee <looked like a match for this: http://www.rebelscum.com/photo.asp?image=/swsaga/saga-dooku_acc.jpg > and Voila! Dooku, Jedi Knight <not sure if he was a master before he left the order or not>

http://photobucket.com/albums/b174/Richardthebloody/12in%20Jedi%20Dooku/

Thanks for the advice OT Freak. I managed to get it fixed, using of all things, a piece i was using for a custom lightsaber! It was part of a stripped Phono plug, and it had a hole just wide enough for the remnants of the neck post, and it holds tightly enough for the head to stay put <an accidental tumble off my monitor proved that LOL.

119
Anyone else curious about how snowbunny Padme's gonna look now? Wonder if she's gonna be next of if they'll do another jedi. I hope they do a Charred head variant for an exclusive...tho with that ROTS sculpt medicom Vader, that'd be a little redundant. <sighs> I can dream tho :D

I'm not sure if this should go here, or in Customizing, but here goes. I was working with the 12 inch Saga dooku last night, trying to get the head off for a custom i was planning...all i wanted to do was see what type of neck peg he had, ie: was it a 2 piece design like the ROTS clone, or a single piece of rubber, like the Saga AOTC obiwan, episode I Darth Maul, etc. Well disaster struck...Since i'd had no trouble popping the neck peg off the clonetrooper without having to boil N pop, I figured i could do the same with Dooku. The neck peg finally gave out, and tore off, leaving a stump of white plastic in the neck well. Does anyone know how to fix this? I've tried ffurg, as well as google, but they only had repair instructions for dragon bodies. I've only started collecting/customizing 12 inch figures this year, and i'm not too sure what dragon bodies are, though i've heard of others using them in place of the Hasbro bodies. Right now, Dooku looks ok if i leave him in more or less a neutral pose, but i was kind of hoping to use him for a headswap to make a Jedi Luke 12 inch <just swap the head, and either make up a belt, or a custom vest thing like he wore to Jabba's palace. Can anyone help me? Or am i stuck with using some crazy glue to put the ball back on the post, once i get it free of the neck piece? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance :)
