Customizing Tips and Tricks / Re: Casting Clone Trooper Helms?

ATL, are you using a clear plastic resin by chance? Reason I ask is alot of those available at hobby stores require a catalist that is usualy 1/10 or something of the amount of the primary resin amount.

I hope to make buy or make a pressure pot...(definitely will have to wait till after the holidays...)

I will give my idea a shot, since it wont use up too much mold making material to just to the test. Since I am adding the twisting articulation up near the elbow I am going to cast the hands and lower arms as one peice... (besides, realisticaly when you turn your hand over most your lower arm does the same anyway...unless its broken..)

OK, was able to check out the first two episodes...
I like the connections to what happened to Captain Jack at end of Doctor Who season 1 and how it has left him with his "condition" that he wants kept secret. I am not 100% sure, but I think the coat he wears in this is the same one he was wearing in 1941 when he first met the Doctor and Rose...
That and I had my suspitions about the severed hand in the jar and after events of episode two I knew I was sure of the connection...Its the Doctor's severed hand from the Christmas episode!!!

For those who else have seen this show, isnt there a tiny bit of the feel of "Angel" to the production?

Customizing Tips and Tricks / molds of action figure hands?
« on: November 12, 2006, 10:37 AM »
I was curious if anyone out there has made any decent molds of action figure hands with extended fingers that turned out any decent casts...
I have some ideas of how to revise my molds for this but figured I would try to get some input before I waste any more mold making material.(like the Commander Cody figure with the hand that the trigger finger also could be pointing for example...)

The problem I run into the most is air bubbles trapped in the curved fingers (often preventing them from forming at all).
I have an idea using clay and thin copper wire for air holes but figure I will see if anyone out here has some tested and proven advice first.

...OUCH...

About that point my chair probably would have flown through the nearest window... if that had happened to me...

The blue tape might have worked, but if you had wrapped it arround entire box a few times. Most my molds I go wild taping every possible edge and over wrapping...though I have never made a mold that big before...

Watto's Junk Yard / If you won a trip to the set of a TV show...

If you won a trip to a set of a TV show you watched, what questions would you ask the production crew and/or actors?
What show?
What questions?
Though keep in mind in all reality, even if you where on the set, chances are any really good questions would be met with "Thats a good quetion... but I cant give you an answer"

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Commander Keller pics anyone?

I have had little luck finding many images from that comic that show him. Finding the comic itself has been a difficult task as well...still looking for it.

Looks great! Glad to see more of your stuff in the works!
I did not realize the Mace Windu squad had been released yet. I will have to go get me a pack (for the Parjai more than anything)
I keep seeing so many cool things that can be done with Bust-Ups that I may have to go track down some.
I envy the work area you and other have. I have very very limited space to use for my customizing at the moment.

Was curious...one of the clones you got there looks like a fresh cast without any paint. Was it just painted over with white?

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Battlestar Galactica...who's watching?
« on: November 5, 2006, 02:17 AM »
I generaly only place a spoiler alert if I have posted about an episode within 24 hours of seeing it. Later than that I figure its old enough news to not worry about it.
I had problems editing the text to be big and red for the spoiler alert so I made a gif for the situation.

I had to watch the episode again last night. Didnt catch anything new but it seemed good enough episode to watch again.

Indeed. The security system is still so much of a mystery...who made it?!?!!
Due to the island being in the Pacific, I beleive that the island is probably Lemuria. Seeing the four toe statue's foot at end of season 2 just made me think that even more...
