Allow me to reiterate my sentiments from approximately 26 hours ago: Happy Birthday, Travis!

All those in favor of replacing the Celebration III subforum?

LA? Ugh, that is perhaps my least favorite US metro. Still count me in, though.

For once in my life, I agree with Cannes! I caught The Da Vinci Code this past Saturday evening and was summarily reminded, for two and a half hours, that I was not in London or Paris, but indeed stuck in a hot and sweaty theatre!

Sporting cast performances comprable to those of Episode II, it's no wonder to me that Ian McCellar stole the show. He's terrific in almost everything he does, and honestly, the hour or so in which he was featured was the only one that I can say I enjoyed. Oh, and that conversation between Silas and the Teacher at the begining bothered me. Latin isn't exactely 'my' language, but what was with Silas? He was like using Spanish intenation with French accention. It was weird, but, in and of itself, did not detract from the overall film.  :-*

The plot wasn't anything to write home about, and the theories presented in the film (those not attatched to Mr. Brown's historical perversions, at least) weren't new to me. I'm not a Christian, so I wasn't bothered by the accusations the film made of the Catholic Church, or the Bible for that matter.

As for the book, I cannot say how true the film was to it, as I have never been able to finish reading it. Why is that? Suffice to say, it is no wonder that Mr. Brown's book has left so many people scractching their heads, as the book isn't exactely cohesive or well written. Or at least, the parts I've read aren't.

All in all? I think The Da Vinci Code sucked. The only question I was left with was: "Where was the editing department?", as the film seemed to drag on for entirely too long. My grade? D+, it wasn't terrible, but it certainly wasn't good. Go see Posiedon instead.

Wal-Marts in South Carolina, from what I've seen, are heat-sealed.

Would anyone mind pointing me in the direction of this contact in the Orient? I've still zero Scouts to claim as my own.  :-\

None currently, and I cannot help harboring envy and contempt for those who already have multiples. Lucky bastards.  :'(

I already included these guys in some shots for the reshoot of Crisis on Abridon, but might eventually make alternate versions like the one on the right.  Thanks for that inspiration!

Awesome, I'm glad I could be of service.  :)

Something about the fleet troopers bothers me, I don't know if it's the use of the earthen color scheme or what, but they seem off. Perhaps try something with a little more of a Marine look to them?

Something like this perhaps?

We had a lot of lightning and a little hail around 6 AM this morning, nothing too bad though.

Currently? My local National Weather Service's radar appearing as "unavailable". Of course, the timing is perfect, considering that the severe weather has just blown in.

We've got some serious storms rolling though Nashville right now. I just drove home from work in the worst weather I have ever seen. They've just bumped up the number of dead from 2 to 8 from a tornado, and it sounds like the worst is still yet to come. Should be a fun night tonight  :-\

Indeed, the killer storms in Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee should continue to be potent well into the evening hours, with the primary threats from storms being tornadoes and large hail. Due to a combination of atmospheric factors over the aforementioned locations, there is a distinct possibility for violent, long-track tornados. Really scarey stuff. Good luck jjks, be sure to keep safe during this dangerous storm period.
The rough weather will push off east of Tennessee and Alabama late tonight, becoming linear in orientation. The biggest threat with the line of storms will likely be damaging winds and large hail. They may arrive here in Upstate SC during the post-midnight hours or into the morning tommorrow.
