Nice post JesseJames, and JediMAC, sorry if this is a redundant thread....I saw that thread as well, but wasn't sure if it belonged together or not....sorry if it did.  Relating to JesseJames' post, it seems a lot of people are really becoming disenchanted with the Star Wars line lately (specifically the 3 3/4" line).  Do you think it is mainly because no one can find anything, or that other toy line favorites (Marvel Legends, 21st Century, Muppets, MOTU, etc.) are doing more with their line that we think Star Wars (Hasbro) could do as well?  Personally, I'm a SW fan through and through, and I will always enjoy collecting the figures (unless they really start putting out some crap), but they do enough great figures to keep me interested....but, at the same time I can see some people's point....I haven't been quite as excited about Star Wars this year, and a lot of it may be due to the lack of product at retail...do you think it is something more....what is wrong with this line?  Maybe this deserves another thread...but I just thought I'd bring it up here.  Thanks for all the replies.

The Bullpen / Marvel Legends
« on: July 9, 2003, 09:23 AM »
I saw this lineup yesterday as well, over at AFTimes (Julius Marx's column).  He also has an FAQ about Marvel Legends that is kind of a good read if you have the time.  Glad to hear about this lineup being confirmed, and Howard the Duck is definitely a surprise.  Can't wait to see pics next week, really looking forward to Colossus as well.

I was curious for those of you who collect multiple toy lines, which ones do you collect...and which get the most attention.  To be honest, I would probably only collect Star Wars if I (like many others) could find them on the shelves.  Due to the drought in SW stuff this year, I have been spending my money and time picking up the X-Men figures from the Marvel Legends line, as well as filling holes in my vintage SW loose collection.  Although I have always looked at other lines, I have tried to hold back because of money, and besides, SW is always my top priority and what I truly enjoy.  Have any of you picked up additional lines, which do you prefer, and why?  I have picked up Marvel Legends, mainly because they are amazing figures and I really like how they are done, but I have also thought about the Master of the Universe line (and I guess I also picked up a Snake Eyes from the GI Joe line, mainly for nostalgia purposes :)).  Just curious what other toy lines you enjoy, and why?

Watto's Junk Yard / Your Favorite Character in the Saga?
« on: July 8, 2003, 01:14 PM »
I'm sorry if this has been posted another time, I took a quick glance and didn't see anything recent, so I thought I'd start a thread.  My question is, who is your favorite character in this Star Wars world we all enjoy so much?  If you have troubles narrowing it down to one, list as many as you want, rank them in your preference, whatever you want to do.  I just thought it might be interesting to see everyone's favorites.  Mine are probably not all that "original", but here's my favorites:

1. Han Solo (all-time favorite, my fave as a kid, and it continues today)
2. Yoda (really close to my overall favorite, Attack of the Clones made him even cooler in my opinion)
3. Chewbacca (gotta like the Wookiee, plus, he's Han's homeboy) :P

Honorable mention to Luke (particularly in Jedi, I remember thinking he was pretty cool when I was a kid), as well as Boba Fett (not ultra original I know, but come on, he is pretty cool-looking) :)

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Who actually "exercises," and how?
« on: July 8, 2003, 01:07 PM »
Nice topic!  Although my current job is totally not relating to it, I actually graduated with my bachelor's in Exercise Physiology/Nutrition, all that good stuff, so I actually stay on top of working out fairly good.  I have always been somewhat active, but mostly relied on sports in HS to stay in shape.  When I got to college, I moved on to more "exercise" as well as playing hoops.  I'm still involved in basketball leagues throughout the year, but also include weights/treadmill in my "routine".  My wife and I work out 5-6 days a week.  I kind of agree that it is hard to go to a gym, in the winter it seems too cold, and in the summer it seems too nice to not go for a walk or something....so we basically do our working out at home.  We have a treadmill that we both use quite a bit, and a number of free weights that we both use as well.  My wife is also a bit of an exercise tape junkee, so we have a lot of those too, although I don't really use them, she enjoys them quite a lot.  We also take our dog for walks as much as we can when it is nice outside.  Although I'm not one of those super-energetic "yay everyone's working out" type of people you see on tv, it is nice to see so many people interested in getting in shape.  Once you get started, and do it on a consistent basis (having a supportive partner/friend helps too), it really becomes part of your regular routine I think.  Anything helps...always better than sitting around all day at work, then all night on the couch after work.  Like many of you have said, eating is key too....I think eating in moderation is a big thing...don't deprive yourself of stuff, but don't overdo it with it either.  My wife and I pretty much eat what we want, within reason, although we do avoid fast food for the most part (we do likes the occasional pizza :))...but that's easier for some than others, depending on your job, spouse/significant other, friends and lifestyle.  Anyways, best of luck to everyone with their fitness/health goals!  Not to sound cheezy, but you really will feel better and live longer :P.

Feedback / Re: Karma's feedback

Karen was able to help me out with getting a hold of the 1st Trash Compactor set with Han and Luke.  I have been looking for this for a long time, and she was able to find it and ship it to me in a matter of a couple of days.  A wonderful person to deal with, great communication, and prompt delivery! :)

Saga '02-'04 / Re: New Hoth 4-pack!
« on: July 3, 2003, 11:34 AM »
I really like this 4-pack too, it will be nice to have some more OT figures, especially to go with the Hoth Han from this year...it will help to make a nice Hoth setup.  I hope we can all find these :).

Saga '02-'04 / Preordering....
« on: June 30, 2003, 12:59 PM »
With us finally seeing some pics of more new stuff to come this year, it got me to thinking...those of you who preorder, do you just go ahead and preorder everything now, or do you "wait and see" if things will show up?  I still haven't seen anything new around here since December of 2002, and I know many others have had the same troubles, and I have preordered Hoth Han, Mynock Chewie, Throne Room Luke & Vader, the Youngling Packs, and the Snowtrooper from Kebco (as well as the Han/Yoda/Boba Unleashed wave and the upcoming 6" Yoda).  Anyways, I guess I always think "things will start showing up...maybe around the time Clone Wars come out", but I'm really starting to wonder anymore.  Have many of you ordered anything and everything that is up for preorder (up to the new Emperor, the Nightclub figures, and the Screen Scenes), or are you "waiting it out" to some extent?

Thanks so much for the reply Karma, I dropped you an e-mail this weekend, thanks again!

The Bullpen / Marvel Legends
« on: June 30, 2003, 09:36 AM »
I just had to share with you fellow collectors....my wonderful wife surprised me and gave me Gambit and Beast for my birthday today.  Apparently she found them at TRU, and they were the last ones there.  I didn't get too much of a chance to mess with the figures this morning before work, but they both did look amazing.  I've really been looking forward to my favorite, Beast, and the figure did not disappoint.  Both of these are amazing, and I think Toy Biz is doing a great job with the Marvel Legends line...I hope it continues for a long time.  Good luck to everyone in their searches!

Saga '02-'04 / Re: NEW PICTURES of the other THREE PACK
« on: June 28, 2003, 11:48 AM »
These sets look amazing, I really hope that the Screen Scenes line continues, because the quality from the pictures we have seen looks great.  Always glad to have more Jedi, and to be able to complete the council.  I was going to wait and see if I could find these things in the store, but with the way retail has been this year, I think I might have to preorder the first sets, as well as these when they come up.  Good job Hasbro.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: New Figure Pic in Insider!
« on: June 28, 2003, 11:45 AM »
Although I wasn't to sure when this figure first came up for the Fan's Choice poll awhile back, I really think it looks great too.  I look forward to picking it up (if I can find it) as well, and I almost kind of hope they continue to do more "concept" pieces every now and then...especially from the OT.  It might be a nice little "set" to display if they do a few based on the concept drawings.  Looks nice!

The Bullpen / Marvel Legends
« on: June 27, 2003, 12:55 PM »
I was just thinking about this line and was curious...for those of you who collect this line, do you also buy/collect comic books, or did you in the past?  Personally, I don't buy any comics now, but I was into them bigger in the late 80's early 90's, and these figures really re-awoke that nostalgia.  I have considered getting back into comics for a title or two, but haven't broken down and started spending money on something else :).  I was just curious if you Marvel Legend collectors were also comic collectors, or just former comic fans (and fans of the characters)?

Just curious if any of you has had any luck finding Series IV yet?  I thought about taking a look this weekend, although I doubt they have hit around my area yet.  I don't know if any of you visit American Dream Comics, but although I don't post over there I check the forums from time to time, and they have some pretty nice pics up in the Marvel forum of the new series, as well as some neat "battles" between the Marvel Legends figures.  Right now I am strictly picking up the X-Men figures..but seeing pics of all of the others from previous waves is really tempting me to get more....these figures are just done so well I think.  Anyways, anyone found the new figures, or have pictures of their collections/scenes/battles, etc. to share?
