I just wanted to add that I'll keep you in my prayers.  Hopefully what you have was caught in time to be taken care of.

My wife and I had our first baby born this past Saturday afternoon.  Samuel John was born at 4:53 PM after 16 hours of labor.  He's 7 pounds 7 ounces and 19.8 inches long.

Here we all are together.

I just had the GL and Aquaman figures.  I was more into Star Wars and Joes at the time.  I wish I would have had more because of the high quality.

The only thing that concerns me about the Obi Wan is the rigid plastic used on his skirt.  This will reduce his posability much like what happened to the OTC Jedi Luke.  A soft goods skirt, soft goods cloak and articulated knees for the figure would make it top notch.  Too bad Hasbro has appeared to blow 2 out of 3 things.

That sucks.  I used to go to that Simpsons board all the time.  It was one of the best sites out there IMO.  Hopefully they are able to fix things.

LEGO / Re: Finally... The Sandcrawler!

Me wantee.  I will find a way to buy one of those.  I may have to get a part time job at the Mall Of America Lego store just so I can get a discount on it.  Hopefully a modular Death Star similar to Jabba's Palace is in the works.

Makes you wonder how long some of those other champs would have gone on if they had no limits like Ken.  I thought they should have put him in the initial rounds just to see how he'd do, but I suppose they were afraid he would lose.

That's funny.  I worked at a K Mart when I was in high school, and there was a story in our newsletter about a security guard at another store who was dressed up as Batman for Halloween.  He had to chase down a guy who stole something and his co-workers couldn't help him because they were laughing too hard.

The Original Trilogy / Re: Thoughts?
« on: May 23, 2005, 01:45 PM »
I think Palpy is interested in Luke they way he was interested in Anakin over Dooku, he wanted the younger, more powerful apprentice.  One thing that bothers me about the OT now is how Obi Wan and Yoda didn't warn Luke about the Force Lightening.  Yoda felt Palpy's lightning firsthand, so he would have to know that if Luke made Palpy mad he could get fried.  Obi Wan and Yoda both showed that they could block Dooku's lightning, so why not give Luke a quick course on how to keep from getting cooked?  Obi Wan must have left some books for Luke in his home, how else would Luke have built his saber?  Why couldn't Obi Wan have left a force lightning book in a place Luke would find it?  Why couldn't Yoda have mentioned something about it when Luke came back to Dagobah?  I know we wouldn't have had Vader's redemption in the way we got it, but it now looks like Obi Wan and Yoda missed something important in their training of Luke.

1. ESB
2. ANH
3. ROTJ
4. ROTS
5. AOTC
6.  TPM
I would say ROTJ and ROTS are nearly a tie.  I prefer ROTJ just a wee bit more.

Yeah, I almost wish Sam Jackson wasn't even in the movie.  I never cared for his character.  Mace blew big time.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Post your ROTS reviews and thoughts!
« on: May 20, 2005, 11:52 AM »
My initial reaction is I liked it more than the last two movies.  TPM was a crapfest and AOTC was just okay, but this one felt more like an OT movie.  I liked the relationship between Obi Wan and Anakin during the first 3/4 of the movie.  You can tell they respect each other and are like brothers, which was missing from AOTC.  The only really cheesy part was the Franken Vader scene IMO.  I would have liked to have seen Mon Mothma and more Chewie.  There was still a ton of stuff crammed into this movie.  I really felt sorry for Anakin.  He was having a tough time deciding what to do, but managed to make the wrong choices anyway.  He's the image of a tragic Greek hero.  At least we know he redeems himself in the end.  The betrayal of the Jedi was kind of hard to watch, too.  I would have to agree with those who said this movie isn't for younger children.  It was pretty dark.
Another problem with the prequels is that the OT is kind of spoiled for those who will be watching all 6 movies in their proper order.  When Leia kisses Luke for good luck in ANH, it's creepy.  When she kisses him in Echo Base, again, it's creepy.  The whole "Luke, I am your father" thing is ruined.  I don't know why I didn't think of all that until now.  I guess I just feel kind of numb now that there are no more Star Wars movies to look forward to.  Hopefully the TV series will be done like this last movie and the Clone Wars.  At least we have that to look forward to.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: "I Must Obey My Master"
« on: May 20, 2005, 11:37 AM »
I just saw the movie last night.  I'll take a stab at it.  Vader knows Palpatine came back for him and saved his life on Mustafar.  He might feel like he owes Palpy.
It might also be that the Dark Side has twisted his mind.  You can see it when he goes to Mustafar.  He wipes out the defenseless, chokes his pregnant wife and comes at Obi Wan even though he's on the low ground.
It might be that all he has left is burning hatred for Obi Wan and Yoda.  Palpy can help him get back at them and he knows it.
Maybe he holds onto a slim hope that his child survived and thinks Palpy will help him track the kid down someday.
All guesses on my part and I'm sure others can come up with more reasons.
