The Legacy Collection / Re: Beginning of the End?
« on: October 9, 2009, 02:34 PM »
Build a Droid has been by far the best insert that Hasbro's ever done.  I really wish they were continuing.

Agree with you. Hasbro just needs to STOP making the obscure figures! They really do! That's the No. 1 way to get figure sales up again (besides lowering the price of figs by a $1 or 2.  :D

I really am horrified at Hasbro's choice to scratch this set  :o I don't go to Comic-Con, so now I'm gonna have to look on the secondary market. *Sigh* Thus is the way of life ...  :-\

I'm actually thinking that Owen might be in this set. I don't really see how a character outside of "Old Wounds" would make it into this pack. I don't think either that Hasbro would include Beru, but maybe, just maybe Obi-Wan.

Legacy-main characters done ove and over again. Collector oriented. Never-before-done characters don't sell well.

Gotta agree with you here ... take Leesnub Sirlin/Pink Cantina chick  ??? Great figure, but, honestly, that doesn't look like it'll fly off shelves. I'm tired of Hasbro's endless inclusion of Saesee Tiin into the SL line ... but these problems can be SOLVED. There can be newer inclusions in that line - Hasbro also needs to realize that the TCW line is mainly for kids, and collectors deserve some great figures for the collector-oriented lines - it needs to stop throwing around that "'The Saga Legends line is meant to be a compliment to the The Clone Wars line'" BS. Because, quite frankly, if that were true, and kids really are buying, then Saesee Tiin and Plo Koon wouldn't be constantly on the shelves. And collectors are also saying how that upcoming EU wave contains mostly disappointing figure sculpts. Even though it might, there's no way everyone will pass on K'Khruk and Shaak Ti. If anything, Eu waves bring the most diverse figure choices. Just thought I'd express my opinion.  :-X

Hope Hasbro gets around to doing a super-super-articulated Aayla Secura to match that upcoming TCW version. She'd be great with maybe an alternate Geonosian Warrior? Hmmm....

NICE!  :) Still gotta mail in the form ... and totally loving the dirt/sand on Qui-Gon's boots! Nice details, Hasbro! It's these kind of special figures that totally add a memorable piece to your collection... Really glad Hasbro thought of this.

The shouting Jedi chick from the arena battle indeed has a name, so I thought I'd update:

She dies  :( Another fallen Jedi. But she would make a good figure for a sequel to this line of exclusives....

Yeah, $8 a figure's bad...  $25 for one new figure?  THat sucks.  Some packs are nice, but they're the minority these days.

Got to agree with you. Some packs ARE nice - I think that Endor set is cool, mostly because of the Ewok and kite, and that SA Luke (which thank the heavens wasn't that horrible 2006 TSC Endor Luke). And some packs aren't THAT worth it either ... *cough* Kamino Conflict *cough*

The DSII Luke ain't so bad - by far better than that horrible, HORRIBLE 2004 DSII Luke (the one with the caveman expression and floppy arms). Yeah, it looks like Hasbro could have made a few better choices with this figure, but this is definitely the Luke to accompany our 2008 TLC Darth Vader (w/ 2-piece helmet)!  :D

Glad to hear about the eye corrections on this dude...

I have a feeling that collectors aren't the only ones itching for a Shado Vao ... Hasbro wants him too!

What I don't think looks right about Plo is the skirt.  That doesn't seem accurate...  unless they're trying for the concept art look on this one?  I don't recall him ever having a long robe extension like that.

He DOESN'T. I'm surprised Hasbro did incorrect softgoods here, JUST LIKE they did with Agen Kolar! What gives?!  :-X I would have appreciated it if Hasbro included that long unique robe he's always seen wearing ... Hasbro hasn't done this version. Most likely won't, either  :(

1318
I really like the Plo figure ... I actually wouldn't have cared if the mask wasn't removable. The guantlet's is a nice touch, and I like the SA treatment.

I just can't stand how inaccurate that upcoming Agen Kolar is...   :-X

Nice to see SA Bacara is coming out again. The Mygetto BP was really scarce here. I saw it just a handful of times (if that). Not sure how others fared with it though.

I never even saw it at retail! Not even in the secondary market!

At my Target stores, BAD and CW figs are $9 flat, including tax.

I take it you're in California somewhere?

Yep, SF.
