Just noticed this report (http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/More_Details_On_Star_Wars_Exclusives_Coming_To_Toys_R_Us_97949.asp) at RS the other day, listing some info on the upcoming TRU exclusives. According to this info, the "Endor" AT-AT will be priced at $89.99. Yikes. I guess I figured it would be pretty pricey, but I didn't know if it would get that high or not. I hope to pick one up, just because I don't have an AT-AT in any form yet, but I might have to check ebay prices for the POTF2 one. More info on other TRU stuff at the linky, if interested.
-
The POTF2 one in ebay still goes around $100. I have been watching for a while b/c I want a few more and I always get outbid around $75/80. So I will be getting one or two of these.
-
I already have 2 AT-ATs, a vintage one and the POTF2 one. I dont think i really need another, unless it comes with some very cool exclusive pack-in figures. I am really hoping it doesnt though.
-
I thought I read somewhere that the AT-AT was going to be sold naked - IE: no electronics or figures.
To get my $100, the deco and packaging has to kick major ass!
-
Why does it seem like all the exclusives are coming out at once? I really liked the non-exclusive period we just came out of. Simpler times... simpler times.
-
Yikes! I guess that shoots down my theory of buying a figure-scale AT-AT of any kind one day.
At least I have my Micro Machines "action fleet" AT-AT. :)
-
I'm not sure if I will get this or not... chance are I will. I have three of the POTF2 ones open...
:)
-
If they make it out of different plastic then I will be passing. When the AT-ST was re-released with the Endor theme the plastic was like rubber. The legs were never stiff and gave the vehicle a very awkward look. I dumped mine.
-
I thought I wanted one but . . . . IF I can find one on clearance maybe, but that is just too much money considering I have it already. I probably will change my mind, but that is alot of money for a strip down version.
-
If the pack-in figure is really cool I might get this one. Horrible price though.
-
I hope its Non-Electronic, comes with Vader, Luke, Drivers, and or Stormtroopers (VOTC Ones), and window box. ;D
-
I hate to say it, but this AT-AT will indeed be stripped of electronics, and will have no pack-in figures. It's selling point will most likely be the window-box packaging. Total rip-off. I'm in a bit of a predicament though, so I'm not sure what to do yet. I used to have a vintage, and 3 POTF2 AT-AT's, but they were all stolen. All I have now is an Action Fleet (the crappy Saga one with no figures), and the WOTC 12" version. I want to have big AT-AT's again, but that price, and having green and brown paint smudges.... I just dunno. I wish they woulda just re-released the POTF2 version. What to do?
-
Hmmm... if they somehow included two VOTC Stormtroopers that would be a huge selling point for me.
:)
-
I have two POTF2 AT-ATs that are currently stored in my folk's basement, so I doubt I'll be buying this one, especially at that $90.
It's nice to see Hasbro and TRU actually have the stones to issue this again.
-
It's one of those things where I see all these AT AT Drivers sitting around and I wonder why. It's because a mom sees it and the dude has nothing to drive. It's smart to have it back in circulation, but like the Falcon, it's going to sit for years at TRU without some real incentive for folks to buy it.
-
Too bad it's not a Target or Kaybee exclusive. It would end up on clearance then. It was nice when the POTF2 AT ATs went for $30 at Kaybee.
-
$90 for a stripped down (no electronics) AT-AT? No thanks.
If they had thrown in a new pack-in figure, I might have considered it. As it stands now, I hardly have enough room for the two AT-ATs I have now let alone a third one.
I guess I'll pass on this one (unless some new "wow" info comes along to change my mind ;)).
-
Hopefully it will collect dust like the OTC and ROTS Falcons that currently occupy every inch of the SW aisle at TRU. If so, maybe I can pick one up on clearance for $50 or so.
I think the deco will be cool along wtih the box - outside of that though, it sounds like a POS.
-
I'm not thrilled with the price either, and if there aren't any pack ins (or obviously, electronics) it does sound like a bit of a rip off. I'll most likely pick it up just because I don't have the vintage or POTF2 ones, and getting them on ebay probably wouldn't be much cheaper. We'll see once we have some pics and when it will be released how the budget is looking, but I'd like to have an AT-AT in the collection so this might be the best option.
I like the point of the AT-AT drivers with nothing to drive. With some of the other figures we're seeing released this year (VTSC Biker Scout, VTSC Sandpeople), I wouldn't mind seeing re-releases of the speeder bike and Bantha as well. I doubt we'll see them, but I wouldn't mind. There's a few other things from the POTF2 line that I missed and have been waiting to see if they'll be re-released (Bantha, Dewback, Rebo Band, Rancor, etc.). I think its been long enough in some cases they might sell ok with some of the newer collectors (or kiddos).
-
I think it's an ok option if you don't already own one given the prices of the POTF2/vintage are in the same range or more anyway. But to get another? As everyone has mentioned, no electronics and no pack in figures? That's a pretty darn steep price increase considering they had the mold and removed the electronics so it's going to be cheaper to produce than it's predecessor was. Worse is the lack of pack in figures, there were two previously. Sad, really.
Don't take that to mean I might not buy one or don't like the paint deco as it's been shown thus far. I do and I wouldn't mind owning a second version of this monster. But $90 or probably $130 CAD if it makes its way to our TRUs is way too steep for some fancy window box packaging.
-
I keep going back and forth on this. I don't have either previous version, so I might get this new one if I can swallow the $90 tag. As Brent said, that's damned spendy considering it should be cheaper than either previous release. And it's not like I have display space for the thing anyway.
I just don't know. :-\
-
Exactly my point. Sure, this AT-AT will only be at TRU, and we all know the "if an item is an exclusive, it effects the production numbers and is more costly, so that cost is passed to us" story. But, that still does not forgive the fact that this thing is going to be bare-bones and have no pack-ins. Gone are the days for a lot of us that a pretty window box secures a sale, especially when something has been made cheaper and priced higher.
HasBLO = :(
-
Does anyone remember what the retail price was exactly on the POTF2 version?
Was it $80 or $90?
-
Oh, I'm buying one, I'll admit it. Why try to fool myself? If I get a 2nd one to open, hopefully it will be on clearance. Toys R Us always has these exclusives that make me shake my head, like the Jedi, Carkoon, and Endor sets that I end up buying. I try to sweeten those purchases, though, buy racking up the freebies like the silver or holo figures and gift card promos. But I know when I start hearing store reports of the Endor AT-AT showing up, nothing's gonna stop me....'cept an empty bank account
-
Does anyone remember what the retail price was exactly on the POTF2 version?
Was it $80 or $90?
I think it was $70.
-
$79.99
-
I'm finding it hard to believe that after the sluggish sales of the Imperial Shuttle, then the lingering ROTS packaging Falcons, that anyone, including TRU, would see the logic in a $90 vehicle. I hope we're missing some important fact about this that justifies that price. :-\
I would like to have another AT-AT that had the level of paint detail that the Shuttle has, though. But damn, $89.99?
-
I can't answer that question, but I know that the packaging will be bigger than the POTF2 AT-AT if it is sold in a window box fully assembled in some kind of action pose (which is of course no guarantee considering Hasbro comes up with interesting ways of packaging in window boxes a partially assembled vehicle). In that case its size will rival the boxes of those 1/6 scale R/C vehicles I see all over the place that go for $100 and up. I know that shelf space equals money to these brick and mortars and they make the customers pay for it.
-
Don't care, I'm buying it. I don't currently own any of the 'walkers' for whatever reason so this will be my first one.
Don't care about electronics, ect-without those you actually have to use your imagination more in play=I'm over it.
Now that I have a lotsa cash from zachmoe We're gonna get this now.
It will be an opener when we buy it too.
-
Well maybe all is not lost. I found an electronic POTF2 AT-AT that needs a new "chin gun" and "ear gun". Hopefully the new AT-AT won't have green and brown poodoo paint on those parts and I can request them from HasBLO.
;)
-
Too bad this isn't up for pre-order so we could take advantage of the 3 for 2 deal.
-
Heh, yeah, wouldn't that be nice?
:D
-
If I can afford it, I would consider getting one only because I don't have an AT-AT yet. Thats the only downside to getting into SW figs around the time of the Attack of the Clones movie.
-
Drunk Jedi... if later this summer you need an older POTF2 AT-AT, l might have one available at a decent price.
:)

:)
Thanks for the offer. :D The problem is in being able to afford it. I've been looking for work since Christmas and I unfortunately live in an area where work is hard to find (and lack transportation to try looking elsewhere)
-
I have the original 1980 AT AT, and 1 POTF2 AT AT that the crappy Veers came with.
My problem is that this vehicle is way out of scale to the point of looking a little silly. From the back, it looks great. From the front, it looks decent...
From the side it looks downright hideous.
I will not be adding any more of these to my collection.
-

Really? My crappy Veers only came with a little blue hologram and a stand :P

??? POTF2 at-at driver?
-
It be foolish to think Hasbro is going to give away a VTSC Scout in this set. The scout will be POTJ, no doubt. I hope I eat crow over this but Hasbro has never let me down (being the pesimist that I am). I would think the driver would be POTF2 but since the TSC one has been warming here and there maybe it will be that one.
-
Yeah, I don't need another one of these either. I am interested to see how they paint it up Endor style though.
-
The rumoured figs are the new SAGA AT-AT driver and POTJ Scout Trooper ;)
-
Anybody think they'll pack in a Speeder Bike ala the AT-ST set? With news of the Scout Trooper as a pack in I'm kinda hoping it's true, but I'm not holding my breath either. What does the Scout have to do with the AT-AT anyway?? Wouldn't it make better sence to include Veers?
-

Veers would make sense for a Hoth AT-AT, but I don't think he was in the Endor AT-AT.
-
Even though the price is awfully steep, I think I'm going to do my best to save up and pick one of these up. I don't have an AT-AT in my collection, and have wanted one since I was a kid, and the prices for the POTF2 one on ebay aren't any cheaper. Hopefully I can grab one at TRU, and the pack ins will make it more worthwhile. It would be nice if it was the VTSC Scout and the Saga AT-AT Driver, but I'm guessing it'll be the POTJ Scout and maybe POTF2 Driver. Its possible we'll get the TSC version, but we'll see.
-
I would be suprised to see a VTSC biker scout, it will most likely be a POTJ scout. But I do think the pilot will be from TSC as Hasbro currently (atleast recently) had him in production.
-
I hope they pack the VTSC Scout.
'Nuff Said. 8)
-
You know what I'd like to see? The POTJ Imperial Officer repainted to look like (or at least similar to) that one Officer from the movie that escorts Luke to the hangar and gives his saber to Vader.
A VOTC Biker Scout would be really nice, but it's Hasbro. It'll be POTJ.
-
All you guys think it will be the PotJ Scout Trooper? Seriously?
I don't even put that much faith in Hasbro - I think it'll be this guy instead:
Crappy articulation and he'll barely fit in the AT-AT? He's perfect! :P
-
It is going to be (my opinion) Biker Scout (Relash of POTJ with Bendable knees) with Speeder Bike (Retooled with correct handle bars) and At-St Driver (POTJ Imperial Officer). No new figures >:(
The color of At-At Walker is Non-Electronic with Endor colors

Veers would make sense for a Hoth AT-AT, but I don't think he was in the Endor AT-AT.
How does anybody know he wasn't "behind the wheel" let alone having the ESB AT-AT drivers on Endor?? Surely with all the freaking clones in Ep2 +3 there's a chance there's some new guys on Endor that we haven't seen - until the new new new DVD releases comes out.
-
A Scout Trooper makes perfect sense in a way, since Scout Troopers were deployed on Endor and this is an Endor AT-AT... that being said though, I'd prefer we get two VOTC Stormies with this... remember they were there when Luke was handed over to Vader which would be a great pack in! But I don't see them ever doing two of the same figure... maybe a VOTC Stormtrooper and POTJ Imperial Officer... I'd be pretty damn pleased with that, although that's not going to happen.
:)
-
Considering Hasbro's current love of Vader, I'm shocked he isn't one of the pack-ins.
-
I'm going to go a step further and think that it's a cardboard cut-out of a scout and AT-AT Driver. No figures, just cardboard placeholders.
-
OK, now that we've seen what the Big H can do to a rehashed X-Wing to make it desirable, what do you think we'll see with the AT-AT?
Two brand new figures? Diorama pack ins?
I'm quite curious what this sku will bring...

If it is anything like the Endor AT-ST re-releaese a few years back, I expect rubberly legs and 1 repack and 1 modified repack

I have high hopes for this... diorama pack-ins would be super cool and make me buy it for sure.
Maybe, just maybe they'll pack in a VOTC Stormtrooper and an Imperial Commander or something... I'd be happy.
Maybe even a third figure, a VSTC Biker Scout with a Speederbike.
:)
-
I really hope the pack-ins are nothing new. I have 2 AT-Ats already dont need another.

About what I expected, however, I am pleasantly surprised that we're getting the newer At-At driver sculpt. I hope there's no electronic consul in the back.
-
Pretty cool. It might have been neat to package a speederbike in there for the Scout Trooper. I like the mud on the AT-AT's feet. I am not going to buy this but it looks nice IMO. Nice job with the pack-in figures this time.
-
Well, it pretty much looks like everyone was expecting - AT-AT with green/brown weathering and two pack-ins. No surprises like the Dagobah X-Wing offered us. :-\
Since I've already got a vinty AT-AT and the POTF2 flavor AT-AT, and the pack-ins aren't new figures, I think it's an easy pass for me...
Great for those who still need an AT-AT or AT-AT Army Builders though.
-
Tough to pass up.. the packaging really sells the thing though
-
I kind of like the packaging too. Like everyone has said, its about what we expected - and I agree, a packed in speeder bike would have been nice. I think Hasbro should have those things out on the pegs/shelves right now, with the VTSC scout as well as the upcoming Luke. I know I kind of wish I had more than the 1 I have right now ;).
Since I missed the earlier AT-AT, I'm excited for this and hope to pick it up. It will be the most I've ever spent on a single collectible, but hopefully it will work out. Looking forward to it.
-
God... I don't know if I'm gonna get this or not. The only place I have space for this is on my Hoth scene, and it would look really out of place.
:)
-
I won't be buying it, but it looks VERY cool.
-
Hells yeah. This'll be my first ATAT and it looks pretty dang sweet. Little disappointed about the non-VTSC Scout, but the new ATAT Driver makes up for it.
-

Right on there, for $90 a VOTC Scout would ease the pain. It would have been really cheap if they included the old one. Hopefully the production firgures will have some dirt deco applied to make them more unique and really exclusive to the Endor AT-AT.
The big questions is what inside? will they keep the Hoth dialogue or put more sound effect in there.
Notice the side cannan sheilds are missing, will they cost reduce the inside computer as well?
I will be a bit dissapointed if they do and feel ripped off.
-
Notice the side cannan sheilds are missing
They are missing in the loose shot, but are pictured on the boxed foto.
-
The side gun shields are missing on the loose photo, but are there on the box photo.
edit - looks like Jayson beat me to that! ;)
This paint scheme does look cool... maybe I'll go ahead and buy this, but only if the money situation is ok at the time.
:)
-
Very nice to see the pics, and even better that i don't need to buy one. ;D
-
It looks nice, but I think I'll pass. The price is just too much for what you get.
-
Everything about this looks great, the paint job, and pack-in's. I just don't have the space or budget for this item. I hope it sell well for hasbro, they have done a great job on this one.
-
I bought my POTF ATAT at Toys R Us on clearance for $19.99 back in the late 90's.
Hopefully I can do the exact same thing this time around - because I'm not paying $90.00 for some green paint and some pack ins that I already have half a dozen each of anyway.
-
Nice, but I'll pass, the price as the main reason.
-
ICK!
I'm somewhat colorblind so it looks like the AT-AT has had some major diarrhea.
Glad to "read" that it still has the electronics from the POTF2 version, but what voice compenents could they use from Ep6? I mean this thing was only on screen, for what - 5 seconds?
Maybe we'll hear screams from teddy bears being squished. That'd be nice.
-
Maybe they will have some exchange between Vader and Luke on the electronics. Is they where they have their discusion after Luke surrenders? Or right in front of the AT-AT's entrance?
-
No, it's on a bridge in the Imperial Outpost on Endor.
-
That's one ugly paint job. Plus the box is way too busy, IMO.
I already have two AT-ATs, three AT-AT Drivers, and 8 Biker Scouts, so I'll be skipping this release. More for those who want them. :)
-
For $90 I'll pass as well. I've got the POTF2 Version and am running out of space. Plus this is $90 more that can go to C4. :)
-
If I bought OT, I'd seriously consider this. I really feel Hasbros reuse of the POTJ Scout is a poor move.
-
I want one and find almost every aspect of this re-issue appealing.
.
.
.
But for $90? No, I think I'll wait for the post-Christmas clearances.
-
Dangit Hasbro! You swindled me again! ;) A VTSC Scout would of been better thoe.
-
Too much $ for something similiar that I picked up on clearance in 1999 from TRU for $20.
-
Love the fact the pack-ins are nothing to me... I can write this one off completely.
Nice paintjob though.
-

$20?! :o
-
AT-AT's were like flyshit in 1998, Artoo... Hills, Ames, KB, and TRU all had them on clearance at the time. Some of those stores were regional but KB and TRU had them in PILES. I got like 4 AT-AT's ranging in price from $20 to $30... Same with the FX X-Wing.

That was a good time for custom fodder and army building. I picked up 5 AT-ATs clearanced at $20 each, plus a bunch of expanded Universe ships, Rontos and Dewbacks for $3-5.
For all those who want to wait for these to go clearance though...remember THAT is a big reason we're not going to see any new ships from Hasbro. Everybody bides their time and waits for the clearance price...Hasbro thinks there's no market for ships...and those who waited but miss grabbing them at clearance end up paying even more than the original retail price a year later to a "dealer..."
-DD
-
Well, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get this first chance I see it. I have two TRUs that are semi-local, and both are pretty high-traffic.
-

$20?! :o
I picked 'em up for $10. :-X
-
I think a window box would have worked wonders for this toy - as well as a speeder bike pack in. I can see these clogging up shelf space along side with the CW Gunships though.
-

That makes me actually want to be a collector during POTF2.
-
It was actually during TPM. KB and TRU were dumping everything POTF2. I got dozens and dozens of figures for 1 buck or 2 and AT-ATs, Falcons, FX X-wings for 10 to 20.
-
I agree with DD, if people always wait for clearance, then Hasbro has NO REASON to make large items. At least not new ones like an AT-TE or what have you.
:)
-
PASS.
Twice as expensive as it should be, boring, the ****** biker scout version for the pack in, and way out of scale to boot.
-

I miss that time. Almost makes you wish Hasbro would over produce again. :-X
-
Yeah it was after POTF2 ended that this stuff got dumped. IT was in part because Episode one was a failure at retail and had expectations on it that no toy line ever should've. So it was during E1 this stuff got dumped... It's about the time they also dumped the last of the E1 figures (Softgoods Wave, Damaged Destroyer Droid, Holo Sidious) and the like... It had its positives but it also had its negatives...
Who can turn their nose to $5 A-Wings though? I have 6 red A-Wings if not more, I forget. I just wish I'd bought more Ronto's, Dewbacks, T-16's, Vader TIE's and the like. :)
As far as waiting for clearance goes on this new AT-AT, one must remember that the POTF2 clearance dumps were all general release itemst hat were available anywhere from K-Mart to Kay-Bee to Wal-Mart and others... They were everywhere and Star Wars actually had real popularity driving those kinds of production/sale ratios. Now vehicles are generally made exclusive unless they fit an assortment sized box and can be produced relatively cheaply...
The AT-AT will show at one store, not 10 different ones, so there's differences in how it'll sell right there. IT's going to be far less abundant at retail than the POTF2 version (not that it'll be "rare" though, that remains to be seen, but given what usual minimum numbers are to crank out a batch, I wouldn't apply "rare" to much of anything).
This is more a fair test then to see if people are just willing to buy the item at what they judge as the right price. For me, I'm happy as a clam it has two figures I want because it's overpriced IMO and like Dressel said it has other flaws I don't care for with it... I'm just not interested in it.
I have a feeling the ratio of people paying above retail on something they missed because they waited for it to clearance is WAY smaller than people who just wouldn't care if they couldn't find said item for the price they wanted to pay... It's a sign of economist's "real demand" is all... If people bail on the AT-AT it just says to me that Hasbro has to do better to command the price they want, and to them they either can't, or won't, and they'll have to make their assessments on that then.
The CW Gunship, which I thought would be blowing out the door, are sitting. THat's a pretty great item, though IMO overpriced. That alone is a bad sign for anything over $30 really. But if it's not worth it to people then that's the way the cookie crumbles is all...
-
I get it just because I don't have one. $89.99 is alot of $$$ for me. I can't wait for it to go on clearance. It won't go on clearance probably because they won't order alot of they like in 1997.
-
I may wait for a little bit to see if the price goes down.Hearing what happened back then makes me want to wait, well unless I get it as a B-day or X-mas gift.
-
Well Artoo, like I said, this is an exclusive... There's not going to be 10 of these sitting at every retail outlet you visit, so I wouldn't make the assumption that 1998-99's clearances will happen again... It's an apples and oranges kind of comparison.
-
Well,if they sit long enough it will like the Target exclusives!
-
I agree with DD, if people always wait for clearance, then Hasbro has NO REASON to make large items. At least not new ones like an AT-TE or what have you.
:)
I know what you mean Chewie. I agree. However, I got 2 of these already like many other collectors. The Vintage and the POTF2 versions. I like the new mud on it. However, I don't want another one and the only way I would even consider getting this again would be on clearence. I probably won't even get it on clearence either unless it is insanely low and my wife says "Sure honey, you can have a 3rd version of that AT-AT your parents bought when you were 7!!!" I am sure that would go over well :)
I just hope Hasbro does NOT pull the "Oh the vehicles just don't sell well." routine. This thing has a great shot at shelf warming IMO. I just hope they don't act all shocked if it sits there and goes on clearence like they have in the past.
I hope we do get something that is actually all new next year and not just a repaint.
-
Well Artoo, like I said, this is an exclusive... There's not going to be 10 of these sitting at every retail outlet you visit, so I wouldn't make the assumption that 1998-99's clearances will happen again... It's an apples and oranges kind of comparison.
I agree and disagree. Will there be a quantity of these sitting around? I think there's a strong possibility. Price is sure going to be a factor, and look at the CW Gunship, 5 TRU's that I've been to in the last 2 weeks had 15-20 of these sitting on the shelf. But on the flip side, we are talking about TRU. I can't remember the last time they had a good SW clearance sale. The last time they clearance a big item like that was the Naboo Starship. They didn't even clearance out the OTC Falcons that were cloging the shelves two years ago or any of the slew of exclusives that they carried in recent years that sat.
I say this because I don't want anyone to get to excited if they start seeing these lay around, because if you wait for clearance, you may be waiting a long time. A long time.
-
I'm in the boat where I missed the POTF2 version, so I'm looking to picking this one up. The price is awfully steep I think too, but if I can find it locally it probably isn't much different than picking up the older AT-AT on ebay. We'll see. I don't really care whether it is Hoth or Endor, and I'd actually probably sooner have a "Hoth" version since that's where they were seen the most - but whatever is cheaper in the long run is what I'll do I guess. I wish I would have been fortunate enough to find some of these on clearance like many of you did, $20 for these (or $10 - heck, even $40) is a real nice deal. Our local KB didn't have these, although I remember getting an FX X-Wing and Falcon for about $15 and $25 respectively, if I remember correctly. Anyways, I am glad to see these OT ships hit retail again.
-
Another reason to not wait for a clearance is that it's a TRU exclusive. Have you ever seen TRU clearance out their billion Millenium Falcons that still sit? Their shelves full of VOTC Landos? Older figures from OTC/POTJ/ROTS? Nope... chances for a clearance on this sucker look dim.
-
I love AT-ATs, but at 90.00, I would have to pass. 11 years of collecting doesn't leave a lot of room or $ for something I have with green smears on it, no matter how much I liked the metal dinosaurs. Maybe if I can score it for $65.00 or less somehow with coupons or something...
-
Like many, I missed the opportunity to purchase these at retail. I am also in tears now knowing some of you got a hold of these at $20. :'(
I was really hoping for a hoth version with all the bells and whistles. I can maybe see someone buying 2 or more for their hoth diorama (I would be one of the crazy few). This endor version just doesn't say "buy more". The POTJ biker scout seems a little dull now since we have the VTSC version.
Even as much as this costs, I know I won't be able to hold back when I see these staring back at me at TRU. On another note, I feel sorry for the kids who will be begging their parents when this comes out.
-

11 years of collecting and you can find somewhere to fit another AT-AT? :o
Where do you live?
-
While yes its overpriced and comes with a sucky old POTJ Scout trooper, I have to support this. Yeah ,I will feel like a new prison inmate for a few moments but If this sells well we might see someting big and new.
After 15 years of collecting, my SW room is getting really full but I sure as hell will make room for an AT-AT thats meant to step on Ewoks. I will make room for anything cool ReHashbro dishes up for that matter.
The POTF2/EP! clearence will not happen again, Hasbro learned its lesson make no doubt. They will play conservative and make more if demand is high which would take time after the fact.
I have not seen the CW gunships sitting yet but knowiing TRU they will not mark it down. Xmas is not that far away, they will be gone by then. Same goes for the AT-AT, sept is perfect timing for this item. A big box on xmas is always a kid pleaser.
We do not even know if they took out the light up veers and sound box in the inside yet. I am assuming they did. hopefully some new sounds like trees being crushed will be put in. And Ewoks screaming.........
-

I actually have a working sound FX unit from the POTF2 AT-AT. It includes the lights for the control module lower cannons, so I doubt they will change much more than the picture slides on it.
If I bought ALL of the OTC, I buy this, but I'll just have more $$$ for clones or a Falcon instead.

Not much room, but like I told Jedimoses, the suspended ceiling in the basement provides just a little extra space....

Endor AT-AT Revealed (http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/Endor_ATAT_Revealed_99158.asp)
The Biker Scout is new... it's the Flip Up Visor figure from the Fans Choice a few years ago. $90 for an exclusive figure? Thanks Hasbro.
:-\
-
Oh great, now I need to change my boxers :o
-
Wow, that's pretty cool.
Still hard to justify though....
-
I'll still pass on this. Cool but not something I need another of.
Give me an AT-TE though, and you can charge me $200.00 Hasbro.
:)

:-\
Wait a couple years and it'll be carded with the 30th Anniversary of the release of Jedi. :D
-
If my eyes don't deceive me, it's not the Rebel in Scout disguise... It's just a generic face under the flip-up visor. The Rebel that donned the scout armor has a bushy blonde beard. If you watch the few scenes you see the trooper you can see his beard fairly clearly.
That figure looks to be fairly generic... I'll still be passing on it. A flip-up visor on a ****** figure is just a ****** figure with a flip-up visor. :)
BTW anyone else think the way that story was worded on Scum's front page was funny? I mean I'm not knocking the news because I think Curto does a great job himself most of the time but Jeremy's wording of that like it was "brand new" was sort of either uninformed on his part or he's trying to make it out to be more than it is. We've known at every community now for how long that the pack-ins were the scout and Driver? That just struck me as odd... I'm sure there's images of the AT-AT in their own forum already, so it's not really news on these mystery figures. That's been in the know for a bit of time at this point.
-
Thats pretty awesome. Although, I can see plenty of thefts for that figure already since its in that bubble. Much like how a bunch of Red Astromech were missing from the Royal Starhip years ago.
-
Gotsta love Hasbro.
"Let's put a brand-new head on this six-year-old body that we're including with a $90 exclusive vehicle, instead of putting it on the brand-new body that's currently available for $10-12 everywhere."
-
It's the Furth & Ullman Business Model that they work off of...
When I was learning about that though, it was usually just referred to by its initials.
-
FUBM?
???
-
NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so happy that i didnt need to buy this thing. Now i have to reconsider for a figure. :-[
-
FUBM?
???
Almost... The last 2 were just redundant on a test though of course.

Almost... The last 2 were just redundant on a test though of course.
Oh.
Oh.
It's just that I've always known it as the Furth & Ullman Corporate Keynote Executive Model, that's all.

always one step ahead of me... >:(

It's what I do.
-
You and Bertha... Goddamnit. :-X ;)
-
I don't know whether to be upset that, for the second time in as many days, someone has mentioned me and Berthaa in the same sentence (even if one of those mentioners was Berthaa herself), or to be just plain befuddled that you're admitting that she's somehow one step in front of you.
Either way. . . not good.
-
I just wanted to see if you'd heard... I assumed but, hey ya never know. ;)
-
NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so happy that i didnt need to buy this thing. Now i have to reconsider for a figure. :-[
If you do, you'll just be encouraging more of these dirty tactics to sell you the same vehicle twice.
I'm passing unless it can be had for less than half the price at some point.
And I really, really hope that's not supposed to be a Jango-face under there.
-
I guess I am the only one who feels better about buying this. That trooper gives me more incentive to keep my preorder. (not that I would cancel it)
Very cool plus it still has the computer, I cant wait to see what they updated sound wise with it.
Nice!
-
I was planning on buying this either way. I've just always had a thing for the vehicles, and I like the new deco job. The revamped Scout Trooper is just that much more of an incentive to buy this piece.
-
I guess Rob has a point, if they end up reducing the price at some point I'll probably get one. But no way when it's gonna run me about a hundred bucks with tax included.
:)
-
Yeah, I learned my lesson on stuff like this when I shelled out $155.00 for an EXCLUSIVE and LIMITED TO 5,000 Imperial Shuttle that later ended up at kbkids for $60.00.
-
Good point. Another reason I did shell out the cash for the Shuttle is because it wasn't something I had several of (like I do of the AT-AT). I will kick myself in my own nuts if I pay full price for the AT-AT. Just can't justify it.
:)
-
And I really, really hope that's not supposed to be a Jango-face under there.
I hate to break it to you but....it is Jango under there.

I never intended to get this myself, but seeing this pic actually kinda disgusts me :(. No offense to the prequel fans out there, but I like my trilogies completely separate. To my mind back in '83 (and to this day) those were regular soldiers, not clones.
-
So how many people have changed their minds on buying this now that we've seen the "new" pack in figure?
I have to say no right now, $90 can buy a lot of basic figures (well, not as much as it used to...)
-
I have to say no as well. I think they did a nice job with this set. However, there are other things to buy.
-

I agree with the basic figures. At $6 each, that's 15 Sandies, or Clones, or whatever else. :o
-
I will have to pass. I don't have an AT-AT, but I find the flip visor Biker Scout rather lame. I think a removable helmet would of been a much better choice. Why oh why would a helmet such as the Biker Scout's helmet have a flip visor? ::)
-
I was already pretty sure I wouldn't buy it - but that pack-in is so lame that the clearance price that it would take for me to buy one is getting lower and lower.
I'm thinking $20 or $30 tops, and you can bet that visor would never be raised.
-
I think a removable helmet would of been a much better choice. Why oh why would a helmet such as the Biker Scout's helmet have a flip visor? ::)
It's actually film accurate that way, as opposed to the Jango Fett face, which isn't film accurate, since the only Scout that we ever saw* with the helmet face flipped up was the Rebel that was putting it on as a disguise. If you look closely at the side of both the prop helmet and the action figure, you can see where the face mask is "hinged" to the overall helmet construction.
*"saw" is an operative term, since it was only for about two seconds before the wipe to the Death Star, over the shoulder of Han and Leia, and from the back at an angle. :)
-
I think to have made this better, all they would have had to do is pack in two VOTC Stormtroopers instead. Damnit Hasbro.
:)
-
Chewie, I think that to have made this better, they could have done the following:
1. Pack in 2 AT-AT Drivers AND a VTSC Biker Scout WITH a Speeder Bike.
2. Lower the price to about 60 bucks, tops.
3. Rerelease the VOTC Stormtrooper, clean, on a card already and continue releasing it until the cows come home.
Or, in my ideal world, they could have scrapped it altogether and use the resources to make an AT-TE. ;D
-
No one has mentioned the fact that the At-At still has the lame electonic consul that takes away troop transport space. >:( Now I feel like I'm going to be spending $100 for one figure.
-
I find it funny that Hasbro thinks, after the slam dunk of a VTSC scout sculpt, they should put the new helmet on a POTJ scout, which is inferior on every level.
They should just throw the mold in the garbage, don't rehash an old inferior sculpt when you have a superior one.
-
Still passing on this. For one, I have two AT-ATs, and those are a pain to store as it is. Two, I don't like the Endor paint job on this one. And thirdly, that pack-in Scout- wouldn't all the accelerated-aged Clones have been dead by the time of the Battle of Endor?
-

Eeeexxxactly.
Had it been the VTSC sculpt, I honestly would've probably bought this for the figures and given the walker to the kids as a bday gift this year. The toy's solid no doubt, but $90's not gonna get me to buy unless there's something in there I want badly enough. Someone will cast the head I'm sure, and I'll buy a cast, and that'll go on a VTSC body... Screw Hasbro's pack-in attempt to make collectors want this more than they otherwise would've.
-
I'm upset that the VTSC Biker isn't in use. :-\ Oh,well.

I'm with you Jesse, and I don't see many of these zooming off the shelves at $90 anyhow. Looking at the CW gunships piling up at $45, the AT AT should sit twice as long.
-
Don't forget the VOTC Landos. ;)
-
With $40-ish Gunships sitting, I'm not expecting the AT-AT to shatter records either, but stranger things have happened of course. I'm not gonna expect it to move well either though.. The big ticket items never have, even when the "extremely limited" ploy has been applied to them (*cough*Shuttle*cough*).

I hear what you are saying and totally agre with it. I hate when they add pack-in figures that probably won't be released elsewhere. I am honestly on the fence with this one.

Now there's an AT-AT I can justify buying two of! ;D
A little late to be posting this but I'm loving that flip up mask on the Scout. Hasbro sure knows how sucker us out of our money.
-
I have a question for the barbeque chef...
Anyone notice that we're getting the Scout we should have gotten with this with the tins? ???
-
RS is reporting Endor AT-AT Found.
-
Uh oh, in our neck of the woods too. Time to start hitting TRU again. :P
-
I was able to confirm that one of the TRUs in my area is getting a shipment of these tomorrow. My problem is that I really can't justify the $90 price point right now. If they order these in the same quantity as they did the Falcons last year, these will still be here a year from now. But if they learned their lesson and have only ordered a limited amount, I may miss out. The last release came out well before I started collecting. It's just the price that is making this decision so hard right now.
-
aaahhh :-X. Too much stuff coming out at once, I really want this too. never had one when i was a kid, but that price, ouch!
-
I have a feeling if I see it, I will snag it. I assume the first wave will get snagged by the guy who works at my TRU who has an Ebay store.
Just for the ATAT and Scout Trooper...
-
After researching..... I've yet to see a store that was getting more than 2 on it's initial shipment :o.
-
After researching..... I've yet to see a store that was getting more than 2 on it's initial shipment :o.
That ........is lovely. ::) Well, the hunt is on.
-
Well, I saw it and couldn't resist. I bought it. I'm proud my friend he resisted the temptation. I've got 'splaining to do. I can confirm, two per case (at least that's all we saw).
-
Brent, where did you buy it?
-
How do the nose cannon lights come on :-\?
It's my first ATAT and it may be defective :(...or the operator is defective/in error :-[ :-X.
EDIT: NM....I took it apart and found that slide contacts for the nose cannons were not hitting the electrical contacts making the sound and noise impossible...they were not hitting them because whoever built it left the wires routed in the way of the electrical contacts preventing normal operation. Rerouted wires and op checked good! ;D
-
After researching..... I've yet to see a store that was getting more than 2 on it's initial shipment :o.
Wasn't it this way with the CW Gunship as well, then a week or two latter each store received a fleet?
-
Well ..my store received only 2 each(gunships...then 3 weeks later 10..none since)...they're sold out now.
--THFG pack sent only 1 case to my store..none since
I know that TRU sends more product to what they consider high-volume stores..I guess the 3 or 4 TRU's I know of didn't get large quantities of gunships or THFG's..I guess those stores aren't high volume?
I actually don't want TRU to overload on these ATAT's since they're a huge box on the shelf and at their price will sit like the falcon's saga(what, over a year?).
Overall from my point of view this year it does appear TRU is lessening on their exclusives versus how much overproduction in the past. :-\
-
Brent, where did you buy it?
Sorry, to not respond. I got mine in the Northern Chicago Suburbs.
-
You live on Chacago? Wow! I'm gonna be there for a while starting on Friday. :)
-
In general I love all things AT-AT, but for 90$ you can get one without the dirt/paint. On both my figures and ships I would rather they made them clean, and let people decide for themselves if a sandtrooper or AT-AT needs more detail. :(
-
Actually I have a POTF2 one for sale (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=11704.0) MIB ;)
-
I think we're going to see a lot of POTF2 AT-ATs for sale in a little bit!
Everybody wants that new Biker Scout!
;D
-
which is crap, really(the new included scout)..when you consider how spoiled we all are in today's age of SAC. I guess the new Biker is OK for customizers-- Although what kind of customizers? The kind that haven't already made their own moveable visor yet?
Having this in hand and being thoroughly dissapointed in the biker scout(no elbows/no knees. I have to hope the reason for a said huge sale would be for the new detail on the new ATAT.
-
Everybody wants that new Biker Scout!
;D
I'm going to wait for the SA one in the tin.
-
I'll wait for the one in the tin as well. I had initially planned on picking up the AT-AT, just because I always wanted one in my collection, but Mikey was nice enough to hook me up with one of his POTF2 versions, so I'm quite happy with that. I'd rather have a "Hoth" version than "Endor" anyways, and with the $90 pricepoint, it would have been tough to spend that much on it anyways. I'm wondering how many of these will sell, especially with the superior Scout showing up later in the tin.
-
Having this in hand and being thoroughly dissapointed in the biker scout(no elbows/no knees.
Was this a surprise to you?
It's been known for some time that this was gonna be the POTJ Scout body with a new head. One point of articulation for every year since it came out.
-
For a total of six (for those of you who don't know what year it is). Or for that matter, the year the figure was released.
;)
-
Would the flip up visor count as an extra point of articulation? ???
-
No.
Then I'd be wrong. :)
Seriously though - does this AT-AT have the same sounds as the POTF2 version? I'm just wondering if it still has the ESB dialogue in it....
-
Don't care, I'm buying it.
So, the answer is no, Matthew ..it was no surprise about the figure as I did read about it earlier in the thread...my motivation to buy this vehicle was purely based on the fact that I did not have a walker yet, period. Turns out that later on it was determined that it does have electronics so a plus there. Can one still be dissapointed still in a figure even if he knows before hand of it's shortcomings? Yes. 'It 's been known for some time..blah, blah, blah'..thanks expert.
My only dissapointment of the vehicle itself is like ..was it Anton? mentioned earlier about that damn electronics panel being so big it takes alot of space away from extra troops going inside..on the flip side, there is electronics period which is better than some of the rumor earlier on about that.
I did have another temporary dissapointment with mine in the beginning with the sounds and lights in the head not working..but, like I mentioned earlier, I took the head apart adjusted the wiring and now it works fine.
The DS
-
I don't own the earlier versions but the button on the far right does sound like the ESB full energy blast of the shield generator and it's followed by an explosion sound.
The button in the middle sounds like the typical dual 'chin cannon' or whatever they're called sounds....you also hear this and see the lights too when you activate those guns on the head.
the 3rd button sound may be new? Mine gives different sounds when I push it.
It sounds like the ATAT marching then ending with a stomping sound(like it stepped on something). Sometimes though, after the marching it makes a long drawn out hydraulic sound..is this new?
At least I know the pics on the electronic console are new...there's a pic of an Endor ATAT parked next to the landing platform.
-

Jeezus.
Your original post read like you might not have been aware of the limited articulation--so I was just clarifying.
Gimme a break--I left my special "Darth Slothus Decoder" glasses in my other pants this morning.

Expert

C'mon you know you can't come on here without those!

So it sounds like the sounds are the same as the POTF2 version except for the deletion of the ESB dialogue.
No surprise there.
Are there little hologram pictures about the sound buttons (on the control panel)?
The POTF2 version had a picture of Vader and a Hoth base.
-
The old one had the sounds of stomping on a snowspeeder and an explosion that follows
-

Ruiner..
if your talking about the ones at the top of the electronics console? The 2 that have a light behind them? Those are different as I mentioned above.
-
Has anyone with the previous release taken out, or tried to take out the consul?
-
I have thought about it maybe 100 times but never gone through it. I have several previous AT-ATs but never saw the point of doing it.
Maybe I'll get busy on Sunday.
-
If I recall correctly (I don't have batteries in the 1998 version to confirm this), one of the buttons has different sounds depending on how long the button is pressed. If it is pressed briefly, it only has the walking sound; if the button is held down slightly longer, it gives you the walking sound as well as the "whining" sound right before the Snowspeeder is crushed underfoot.
It's akin to the 1998 FX X-Wing (which I just posted about in another thread) in that if you press R2's head down briefly, you get the "R2, fire up the converters" line before the engine whine, but if you hold R2's head down slightly longer, you get the engines to light up. I would assume, given the way it's being described, that the new AT-AT has a similar (if not the same) sound setup.
-
I actually have an intact functioning panel with wires from the POTF2 version.
Has anyone with the previous release taken out, or tried to take out the consul?

You removed it yourself, or did you find it in a collector shop or flea market somewhere?
-
I have removed the console from the original one ANton... The problem with removing it is taking it out requires cutting the floorboards of teh back for the most part... Or cutting wires and resplicing which is quite possible too.
-
good point Jesse
Definately I would guess the best way to go be to cut the wires then install reconnectable splices on so you could convert back to the electronics panel mode if you wanted to.
-
I just find it amazing that the electronic feature in the modern ones have certainly made the vintage one an appealing one to own still. Hasbro definitely should have made this console removable to allow greater play.

I fired up the vintage one for my daughters a few weeks back. It took a little bit to get the 20 year old gears working again, but once they did it was a blast. It was a very cool play feature to be able to manipulate the walker's head and shoot at the same time. I love AT-AT's, but not enough to drop this kind of coin for a grass-stained version. Now if it had an Endor landing platform playset....

Seriously. I've always wanted to build one of those.

Vague thread titles is what's going on.

probably better if thread/post merged into TRU ATAT thread?

I don't think anyone knows... I've heard people who had AT-ATs shipped over the weekend and others who got cancelled orders. ???
Since you can still place orders for it (it still says it is in-stock), I'd suggest just going over there and placing a nw order and trying again.

I saw this in the store yesterday. I'm holding off for a little while. I bought the Dagobah X-Wing, but I'm not going to buy some $180 worth of exclusive vehicles in the space of a couple of days. I'm going to wait to buy this AT-AT and the TIE Fighter. I just think that TRU should have spaced these exclusives out a little more.

Boy is that ever true. I wasn't going to get the TIE or AT-AT, but if I was I would be bummed. Toss in a 40 dollar gunship, a 25 dollar battle pack, and you have $245 in TRU exclusives in 4 months time. And we aren't even near a movie or christmas.
-
Plus ones standard monthly purchase of basic figures. That's quite a month.
-
Saw the AT AT at TRU today, $89.99
I plan on seeing these on the shelves for months to come.
-
I bought the X-Wing, but I'm not touching the rest of these unless they're on clearance - and not the 10% off kind of clearance, more like the 75% off kind of clearance.
-
Same here!
-
Saturday at noon I called up the Lancaster TRU and they said they had 11 AT-ATs and 7 Tie fighters. By the time I got there they were down to 6 AT-Ats and 5 Ties. I picked up a walker and 2 Ties. The manager said that they've been selling those consistantly.
Waiting for items to go on clearance here is a gamble, we still have Mon Mothmas here they're holding on to for regular price, yet you can get a 12" Bariss Offee for $12 and change. Over here if you want it, you better get it when you see it, because nothing is garunteed to stay. We only got one case of Hunt for Grievous BP months ago.
-
Waiting for items to go on clearance here is a gamble,
I always felt that way toward TRU in general. It seems to take them forever to put stuff on clearance and the items never seem to sit long enough for that.
-
You are right, waiting for clearances is a real gamble. The way they rotate through stock, and appear to be ordering fewer units in general, makes most any item a "buy it while you can" type of thing- if it is something you want.
Plus when/if they do hit clearance, they move really fast. Those Target skirmish battle packs were scooped up in a heartbeat around here once they hit the 50% + off mark.

I picked up the last walker at my TRU.It looks great!

I think it looks about as bad as it possibly could. Hasbro insists on using the same mold they used when I bought the thing in 1980. If they were still making figures the way they made them in 1980, would you buy them?
It's time for Hasbro to just admit that 26 years later, we've made some advances. How many times did they issue us that stupid ill-scaled TIE fighter with that classic "bowling ball attached to 2 Flinstone's wheels" look? From 1977 to 2004.
Figures have come a long way in that time span, the vehicles should have as well.
To me, the AT-AT looks downright stupid. The head is too big. The body is too small. The snowspeeder and TIE fighter are now 1/2 the size of the AT-AT. The snowspeeder looks positively ridiculous next to the AT-AT. The small die cast action fleet snowspeeder next to Hasbro's AT-AT is the correct scale.
Sometimes I think I'm too critical of detail as a by-product of my professional work, that's just how I've been trained. But this vehicle is just grossly out of whack. It looks awful.
They are piling up in my TRU to boot, doesn't look like they have sold one yet.
We got that TIE fighter about 5 or 6 times before Hasbro finally admitted that the wings were grossly the wrong scale, and now they fixed it. The previous 6 versions? They're fit for the trash now.
I just wish they'd stop giving is the same old vehicle bull**** from when Reagan was in office, admit the scale sucks like they did with the TIE (and X-Wing i guess), and correct it. Just fix it.
-
My son got the new AT-AT for his birthday from wife's friend. It was the hit of the year! He has yet to let the thing out of his sight.
-
On TRU.com you can get them for $60. Of course that is if you buy 2 for 3. :-X
-
Really? That's sorta cool.
-
I am stll thiking about it.
-
Thiking? ;)
-
Saw 3 of these on the shelf today, looked up, and saw dozens more on the very top shelf. I don't see them going anywhere for a long time.

It's a children's playing toy. Does it have to be 110% accurate? Methinks not. Besides, a completely to-scale and acurate AT-AT would have to be taller than a normal sized table and likely hundreds of dollars.
-
...and likely hundreds of dollars.
It's amost halfway there now ;)

Well, granted I don't expect the level of impecable perfection of the Naboo Flight Crew Member, one of the best figures of all time. But what I do expect is something of a little more relative scale; that is, a body that is at least 2-3 times as big as the head of the AT-AT, not almost a 1:1 head to body scale like we have now.
-
It's scale in no worse than the falcon, sandcrawler or shuttle in my book. It is a good way for me to get on the floor and play with the munchkin and watch him use his imagination. That is where this gets fun. :D
-
Nothing is worst than the Sandcrawler for scale. The Falcon is close in worst of all time.
-
When it comes to scale in this line, I've just accepted that your odds are low of getting anything "accurate". Not to say it doesn't happen, it does more than people realize, but I think it's more a fluke when it does happen than something intentional.
The AT-AT is project I've had for years now... 40"-ish high (rounded) is about where you'd be for scale, and a little longer than that. I'd love it, but I don't expect it ever.
For me I'd like to see a scale AT-ST (in the feasible range of resculpts) first. It's got to be the most inaccurately sculpted vintage vehicle they still crank the molds out for, and to get one in perfect scale to the figures wouldn't be difficult. This is the single vehicle I think I'd like to see resculpted from the OT at this point... The Snowspeeder is a close runner-up though (I'm not counting the Speederbike, I think they'll give it a go sometime).

I agree with you completely, Jesse. I'm not as much a stickler on scale, but I am when it comes to accurate design and decoration, and the AT-ST lacks that, big-time. One would think that, what with it being the most prominent Imperial vehicle in ROTJ (other than the Shuttle) and with the two versions released so far in the modern era being so difficult to locate, Hasbro would take the opportunity to completely redo it with a new two-person head and completely new mold and stick it out in their precious "Starfighter Assortment." I would think that it would fit in that size box, disassembled slightly, and they could even do a totally redone AT-ST Driver figure to sell in the 30th Anniversary waves next year.
But, I guess doing that would take attention away from Kit Fisto's and Saesee Tiin's Great Pumpkin Jedi Starfighters and the "We're Fresh Out of Ideas and Milking Molds For All They're Worth" White TIE Fighter, and we can't have that.
-
I'm just amazed that these seem to be moving at a steady pace. My closest TRU continues to sell them out and restock them.
-
I'm amazed they are moving as well- this is one case where I thought a repaint was going to be a big mistake by Hasbro- who thinks of Endor and dog poo when they think of an AT-AT? If they had left it neutral but packaged it in an Endor box it could have worked for both enviroments...
Now give me a docking station/landing pad for $25-30 and I would be quite happy to drop some cash. But that would be wandering dangerously close to a playset or play environment for the big H.
-
After initially sitting for a bit, these seem to be selling at our local TRU as well. I was kind of surprised due to the pricepoint, but maybe people just missed it the first time around (or someone is getting a pretty nice Christmas present). It actually seems to be selling much better than the Dagobah X-Wing, unless they just keep restocking that or something. Although we all have X-Wings, I thought that set up with the box and muck/etc., it looked pretty spiffy. Granted, its $45, but the AT-AT is twice that.
-
Speakin of which- I'm killing myself.. I bought two of these- one for a buddy and the promptly lost the damn receipt. Turns out my buddy already HAD his and now I'm stuck with TWO of em! One's opened and in my Endor display... the other.. I don't know WHAT I'm gonna do with it!
Oboewan
-
I'm tempted to pick this thing up before the TRU sale ends tomorrow. 10% off Deal or no Deal thing, plus a free figure to boot. Not as bad of a deal, but still expensive.
-
....lost the damn receipt....
Oboewan
This beast is an exclusive to TRU so the should take it back with no problem. If anything the worst that could happen is they give you a gift card with the amount of the latest sale price.

They have this new policy that they won't take ANYTHING back without a receipt or gift receipt...
it's totally the suck!
Mayble I'll just try another TRU or wait until after X-mas to take it back
Oboewan
-
That makes no sense that they need a receipt for the AT AT at least. The stupid overpriced wretched looking piece of **** couldn't have come from anywhere else, being a TRU exclusive.
Unless they're selling it on Amazon.com or something and they're worried you used a coupon.
I don't care enough about the AT AT to explore that possibility.
I think eventually you'll find a manager who has a clue that will take it back for you.
-
I know this is the original old mold for the at-at walker but I never had it, MY parents weren't going to spend $60 for it BUT I did buy today for my son, so he can have it, just gotta love living vicariously through our kids to perpetuate collecting SW Stuff ;)
-

Did you buy it with a credit card? Maybe TRU can look up the purchase that way. They do at Target.
-
Just bought this today. Was in TRU and thankfully, I had just got a GST check which was able to cover the sale price of this (74.97+tax) and they only had one left on the shelf.
Haven't had a chance to open it yet. Unfortunately my mom is a psycho when it comes to me being a toy collector despite the fact that I'm 28. So unfortunately it is currently sitting in the trunk of my dad's car.
-
Man, if you sleep on these exclusives you're bound to miss them. I went back to TRU over the weekend to look at the AT-AT (and Dagobah X-Wing) and wouldn't you know, they're all gone.
I should've picked up the CW Gunship that I've been going back and forth on.
I suppose the upcoming holiday doesn't help either - the figures aren't moving very well here but the ships sure are. Even the ROTS Falcons are moving steadily at full price. They've been warming the shelves ever since their release (a year and a half now)?
-

Yeah.. no dice... but it's been resolved- the guy I'd purchased it for decided he wanted a 2nd one to open after seeing my open ATAT in my Endor display.

At the very least, I hope TRU and Hasbro are pleased with how well this has sold. I'm sure there was some apprehension about putting such a big item out, again, but with the holidays, there as probably no worry.
-
i still want to get one of these. my buddy said he would get me one for christmas but last time we went to TRU there was only 2 left :(. it looks so cool too.
-
it is official. my sis went to 2 TRU's to try and buy me a AT-AT for christmas....and they were all sold out. one of them had 5 in the computer but the employees couldnt find it in the back..and then the manager said that they were damaged and sent back. they won't be getting another shipment :(

Where in Canada do you live? I'm in Kelowna, BC, and we've still got a handful of them. It'll cost a bloody fortune to ship one, but if you want it bad enough I could grab one for you. PM me if you want one.

It's true. The Target exclusive rebel speeders were launched from a nearby hidden base and inflicted heavy casualties.
-
I got one of these for Cristmas today. It's a lot sturdier than I expected, and the electronics are fun. I would rather have had no console inside the toy so I could cram more stormtroopers inside, but you can't get everything that you want in life. Oh well...
-

That's why you should pick up the vintage one. :P Strangely, it can be gotten cheeper than either modern version.

sis pulled a fast one on me...i got one for christmas. it is great. havent been able to put batteries in it yet but with or without im still impressed. good job hasbro

And often overlooked is the very cool function of the light up reciprocating chin guns on the vintage model. Having that set up where you could move the head and fire the cannons at the same time was genius, and that vintage grinding sound as the guns move is pure nostalgia
-
This is absent at my TRUs. Infact no exclusives are, theres only basics.
-
Good News Its back! Walked into my TOys (SO cal) and they had 10 sitting on the self..I picked up two~
-
I happend to see these yesterday myself. If only the Clone Wars pack would pop up like that again.
-
Would like to have one but too expensive
-
Has anyone heard of them hitting any clearance? I'd buy one if it got down to maybe $40 or less.
I managed to get just the Scout (the only thing I was originally after) for about $9 - so anything else is gravy.
-
I have a feeling these will be full price through Christmas.
-
Too bad because I really want one!!!
-
I have a feeling these will be full price through Christmas.
I like how you left the year out of that prediction. :D
With that being said, I'm going to venture a guess at "Christmas 2010" given TRU holding on to their stuff at full price for as long as they can. I think the overstock shelf is going to collapse under the weight of the 100 dollar AT-ATs stacked on top of it before too long. :)
-
Saw a bunch of them today, still full price.
-
They have a few at our local TRU. Since I have a Vintage one and the POTF2 one, I really have no desire to spend $100 on another.
-
Yeah Matt, I keep passing that one by, but i really need to grab one, I was also surprised to see the bantha packs there
-

Same here.....except I wanted the box. ::)

I'm not surprised on those. Christmas is when those will start to disappear.
-
Oddly, the AT-AT's are gone from TRU. Either someone purchased them or they were moved to somewhere else.

When you can double your money it is. At Christmas time they were bringing $200 on eBay. The same will likely happen this Christmas.
-
That's completely ridiculous.
-
Sound like an opportunity for someone who has an extra $100K...
"I'm first!"

But these things were sitting there for so long; I doubt a Scalper would've taken them now.
I was there again today and at least one was back.
-
Have you guys checked the storage rafters in other aisles? I thought my TRU was completely sold out but they had about 10 or so in another aisle almost stacked to the ceiling...Same thing goes for the X-Wing
-
I would love to buy another but $100 is too steep to army build. I did not even open the first one I have but I know it looks killer. If it ever prices drops or if there is a sale I would splurge.
-
Out of curiosity I just checked on Amazon to see if it might be on sale there ... and good Lord, it's $149 now. ::)
EDIT: Never mind, it's actually being sold from a secondary seller thru Amazon. I forgot TRU and Amazon are no longer associated.
-
My local TRU has restocked these and have at least 5 of them. I certainly didn't expect to see them again so far after their original release.
-
Same here, they just restocked & have 4 on shelf....so tempting for another but I am out of room as it is.
-
We probably see a new At at walker in the TLC
I HOPE BIGGER , updated, with holograms simulated, wider cockpit, taller
with the fuel tank
probably including a Luke pilot with arpoon and saber.
