50 years ago, a gallon of regular gas was about 30 cents. Now it's around $2.50. But are today's gas prices high compared to 1950?

To answer that, you have to take into account inflation that has occurred over the last 50 or so years. By calculating inflation, what cost 30 cents in 1950 costs $2.33 today.

With just a bit of analysis, that means gas prices today are only about 8% higher than they were in 1950.

I heard an Oil company spokes person slip durring an interview (about two years ago) and say specifically that the higher prices have nothing to do with actual rises in cost or inflation. They're just charging more to get more proffit. Much like Target is doing with their exclusives. 

I've seen a lot of folks complaining that the government do something about the prices... bad idea folks! Why do some people always want the government to run EVERYTHING?

If the corporations wouldn't rape us (i.e, pharmasutical, health ins, energy companies) we wouldn't have to ask for help.

44 exclusive items in the 3.75" scale in one year?  That is approximately $900 plus tax/shipping if you tried to grab one of everything!    

Anyone else think that's just WAAAAAY too much running around to do in a year?

Thanks for the tally. That is a lot. This upcomming spurt is a huge chunk of that too. I'm more worried about being able to physically get what I want though, especially the Target stuff.  They have 5 alone. It's bad enough they seem to make limited quanties and that every Scalper and his mother are on top of it, but the stores themselves seem to be a hurtle as well.

Anyone else worried (like me) that this is a sign of things to come where the retailers demand HUGE lots of exclusive goods?   

Didn't this happen and fail in the 90's? It was mostly 12" though. Do you think the market may be different now?

The Targets in my area must have locked Star Wars out of the system or something because every DCPI # I have (tie, evolutions, 5 pack, lava, stealth and COLLECTION 1) doesn't work in the scanner.

Seems every time I open my mouth, the opposite happens. I asked an employee to look up the number and sure enough, they had some in back.

I don't know Pete, I can't say that it sucks yet. Sure, the POTF2 Pilot is a huge let down, especially since the Saga one is pictured on the back, but the ship is more important to me. The wings are huge! They seem to me a bit over scaled, at least when compared to the cockpit. It's going to take some getting use to.

Anyone notice in the contents that the box says 4 wing panel pieces? Also, how about the recycling of the old Tie instructions (old small panels?) Funny.

Yep, I'd love to get two of these to open.  I'm just a bit nervous since it's a Target exclusive... I'd like to see it be a widespread release.

You know, there is a bright side to an exclusive like this. It is an EU type character, therefore, if you skip it, you're not really missing anything.

My brain is going to explode! When I first heard about this, I thought (and was hoping) that this was the Target clone switching retailers on us, but NO! it's in addition to it. The pain! The Pain!

Anyone have an idea how many are coming to a case(please don't base it on how the non-exclusive BP's are packed) and....HOW MANY cases the store gets ? Has somebody actually seen them pulled from the case to stock?

Peter_Fett said he pulled a fresh case from a pallet last night. Said it was a case of 6, 3 per case.

It sounds like the stores aren't getting very many of these.
I hope they send multiple shipments so these aren't hard to get.

I would hope it be the same as the cantina sets, pleanty to go around, but we have yet to see. It seems like it's always the case where a store initially get one case and then more and more as time goes on.
