I don’t believe it.
This is amazing.
A perfect way to re-use sculpts to give collectors what they’ve been asking for.
-
It's a great set, but I'm still going to pick the nit of three Thrawn figures in the last three years. Wish they would have used the 2013 Mara Jade sculpt with a new head to give us a TVC carded Mara Jade instead of a third TVC Thrawn if they needed a repack in there.
They can make it up to me with a TVC HTTE Luke, Luuke, Mara set after this one. ;)

I'm not sure what to say about this.
On the one hand I love getting stuff we don't have and especially something like Joruus that is all new.
On the other hand, what in the actual f*** heck is going on? They're choosing to make figures from something that is 30 years old and (I'm assuming) not even canon when they haven't made so many other more relevant figures from Andor, Ahsoka, The Mandalorian, Skeleton Crew, Bad Batch, Solo, the Sequel Trilogy.
Rob - I'm not sure if you're serious or being sarcastic. I know I don't plumb the depths of Star Wars discussion groups, but are people asking for Joruus C'boath (and kitbashed Thrawn and Palleon figures)???
If people really are asking for this, then I guess, great, but these are way down my list when there are a lot of more relevant (in my opinion) figures that should be prioritized with brand new sculpts. I don't recall this being anywhere high up on people's lists either when there is large scale voting.
I've got a ton of figures/toys displayed at home by theme, and I'll be honest that the "Expanded Universe" stuff like this doesn't get put out. Its left in a bin and deprioritized.
I assume this is targeted at those over 45 who read these novels/comics back in the day. If you were going to pick something that was targeted at oldsters like us I would have thought something weirder and even more random like Vlix would have been selected.
When Hasbro is choosing where to spend time on all new sculpts and they choose Heir to the Empire, I'm really a bit at a loss as to how they got there. (Same goes for The Shadows of the Empire figures they're working on - really?)
-
Palleon was in The Mandalorian, though only as a hologram, so perhaps this knocks that one out (though people will want him on a Mandalorian card).
-
I like it.

Oh I'm serious. Heir to the Empire was the greatest thing in the universe to me when I was a kid. I read it so many times and have wanted a Joruus C'boath figure since the late 90's. Palleon is a great add too, I don't need the Thrawn but the one they made back then is very very old so if it gets the other two done, I am fine with it.
I do hope it leads to another handful of figures... Talon Karde, Luke, Jade...
I don't exactly plumb the depths of discussion groups either, but when Hasbro announced these figures in 6" scale, there was a lot of... chatter... about how 3.75" collectors have been asking for these for decades and boom, 6" gets them.

I am shooketh. I was just looking at my old TLC & POTF2 Thrawns yesterday and was considering swapping the Ysalamiri out to put on the new figure. Despite BS getting these, I had pretty much given up hope for this kind of classic EU stuff in TVC. What a cool set, especially considering only 1 of 3 figures is fully new, (not counting it's accessories. Both the figures and the cardbacks look great. Count me in for two sets. :)
I second the notion for a follow up set w/ Luke, Mara Jade, & Talon Karde!

I can't believe we never got a Joruus C’baoth back in the day with all those comic packs and the depth of the line at the time.

True. Originally, Timothy Zahn wanted to have Joruus C'Baoth actually be a clone of Obi-Wan Kenobi that turned to the dark side. George Lucas squashed that idea.
I always thought of modifying a Ben Kenobi figure a bit to make a Joruus C'Baoth figure but never got around to it.

Do you seriously doubt Hasbro's ability to re-release that figure on a cardback with The Mandalorian logo????
Seriously, I'm happy for the HTTE fans who have wanted something like this for so long. I can't say that I'ma fan of the Zahn trilogy, but I'm friends with enough people who are. And if this bring them some happiness? By all means, enjoy!

Oh, I don't doubt it at all.

Pulse has moved this up to June 6.
-
Like most everyone else, I'm confused after reading the email from Pulse.
Email says I'll be charged soon, but also that the item is delayed to June.
The original May release is still listed on the product page, giving me a flicker of hope.
I'm not upset, I just don't know what to believe! :P

"We're emailing you for one of the two reasons below."
Either your stuff is about to ship or we changed the estimated delivery date. Good luck guessing which one it is!
-
If it’s the delivery date moving it says it in bold type a little ways down. It’s still clunky but the info is there?..
-
Hasbro Pulse sent me an email saying my new approximate ship date is... today. But no actual shipping notice.

I got a bunch of those as well. Some of the new ship dates have already passed though, so I'll get them when I do.
-
I just emailed Hasbro CS to suggest they rework their email structures, they’re a waste of everyone’s time with how poorly built and full of passed dates they are.
I’d rather not get these emails than get them in a way where I have to go decipher them and wade through obviously wrong info.
-
or at least do something like EE does where they send an end-of-the-month status of preorders.
Of course, the bad thing is that it would be shocking to see how many open preorders I have with them.
-
Is it bad that I never ordered this set? I think I will at some point, but I didn't feel a tremendous amount of urgency to get it.
-
Yet another Thrawn is boring, but I'm pretty excited to finally get Joruus and Pellaeon.
Also hoping that since Mara Jade won the March Madness poll this year, that increases the chances of Hasbro doing a TVC HTTE Luke, Luuke, and Mara set next.

Got another one of these pointless Hasbro update emails today... maybe I can expect to get one on the 28th of every month until it finally ships?
-
The email I got said either shipping soon, or shipping on a date that was 3 or 4 weeks ago. So I assume it was a legit shipping soon email.
