My pal Mike pointed something out to me today... apparently industry experts are expecting the price of toys to increase about 10% after Christmas (since most stores have their Holiday Orders set already).

The higher oils prices affect so many things - cost of raw materials (plastic), cost of shipping (raw materials and finished goods) plus added costs for the new set of safety testing (at both manufacturer and retailer levels) after all the recent lead-based scares.  It all leads to the presumed price increases...

So, will we see $7.75 for Star Wars figures in 2008?   Will high prices ultimately be what kills the line? 

We want your votes! Hasbro is looking for a final wave of 5-6 figures that will round out the Saga Legends line, and which will be on shelf approximately March 2008.  JediDefender Forum Members are welcome to post in this thread a list of the "top 10" figures they would most like to see Hasbro re-release.

Your "top 10" lists must be posted by 11:59PM (Pacific) on Thursday, August 16th.  

On Friday, August 17th, the lists posted here will be compiled by the JD staff and the "top 10" choices from the JediDefender Forum Members will be forwarded to Hasbro!  The following Monday, August 20th, the lists from the various participating fansites will be combined together (with each website getting an equal voice) to generate one final "Top 20" list which will then be posted by Hasbro for netwide fan voting through the end of August.


Rules/Clarifications:

- Ineligible Figures:  Any figures that have been used for exclusives or mainline sets from March 2007 or later (or previous exclusives whose retailer is still stocking them). This means that figures from sets such as the McQuarrie convention exclusives, Order 66 2-packs, Tusken Raiders, Mandalorian packs, Battlefront II packs, AT-RT Patrol, 181st Tie Interceptor Pilot, ARC-170 Battle Pack, Lucas Family pack, Stealth Scout Trooper, Felucia Battle Pack, Ambush on Ilum Battle Pack, Clone Attack on Coruscant Battle Pack, the Hunt for Grievous Battle Pack, Kir Kanos/Carnor Jax comic pack, 2007 vintage assortment, and other upcoming sets are ineligible. Some figures will not be eligible because tooling is not available at the time due to their use in upcoming products. This includes any figures from the previous (2005) Evolution packs among others that may not be available.

- Eligible Figures:  All other 3-3/4" figures that were either released as basic figures, Vintage figures, vehicle drivers, or released as part of a multi-figure set prior to March 2007. Exclusives and other sets whose figure are eligible for consideration include Republic Commandos, Death Star Briefing Room, the Saga Tins, Zev Senesca, the figures from the Toys R 'Us AT-AT, and the like. Pretty much all other figures are fair game!

- Votes for Ineligible Figures will be removed by staff when compiling the final list.

- For ease of compiling the lists, PLEASE POST ONLY "TOP 10" LISTS IN THIS THREAD.  All discussion of the poll and lists should be posted in the existing 2008 Saga Legends "Fan's Choice" Discussion thread. 

- Also for ease of compiling the lists, please limit your lists to TEN figures.  Ten figures, that's it - we don't care about any "runner-ups" or "honorable mentions".  If you vote for more than 10, the extras will be deleted.
