Just read that the picture shown possibly might be Thing in "mid transformation" and isn't the "final Thing look".  I'm hoping that is correct :).

Oh man, the hunt is back on.  To be honest, this is the wave that I'm most worried about finding (as many of us probably are).  Let's hope they pop up in abundance near everyone soon!

Should be a great game tonight, and like Scott mentioned...a great battle this early in the year.  I tend to favor the Vikings (hoping they win, I mean), but it will be tough...Philly at home.  Hopefully we'll have a shootout between Culpepper-Moss and McNabb-Owens.  Something entertaining anyways.

Pats continue to win, although it wasn't exactly a picture perfect game yesterday.  They should do well this year though.  Chiefs go to 0-2, and apparently the defense isn't quite fixed yet.  I couldn't really bring myself to tune in for the ESPN game last night (Dolphins - Bengals), although it did sound like it ended up being an exciting one.  As far as the teams I follow, it was 1 for 2.  Denver lost a stinker (7-6) to Jacksonville, but Detroit went to 2-0.  They aren't exactly Super Bowl contenders, but it would be nice to see them back in the playoffs.  Speaking of Lions...I miss watching Barry Sanders :).  Even though his streak was broken yesterday, much props to Jerry Rice.  That was one heck of a run.

GalacticHunter has some images up of the packaged Wave 3 (Bounty Hunters Wave) of Galactic Heroes.  Really looking forward to these sets.  Nothing much new here otherwise on the GH front.  No sign of the AOTC packs, but we don't have a K-Mart, and I think that is where they have been found so far.  I noticed that TRU now has the Falcon playset on the shelves though.

Anyone catch the Star Wars VH1 special this weekend?  I believe it was called "When Star Wars Ruled the World".  Saw it, taped it, and it wasn't too bad.  Of course, I always enjoy me a Star Wars show, especially the nostalgic kind that look back on the good ole days :P.  They did have interviews with quite a few of the stars (Mark Hamill, Carrie Fischer, Harrison Ford, Billy Dee Williams, Peter Mayhew, Frank Oz, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, Warwick Davis, John Williams, etc.)  Kind of nice seeing all this Star Wars attention over the past week too.

Yeah, I wasn't ever really able to get into this line, although there have always been a few figures I wouldn't mind having sitting on the desk here (Homer for sure, maybe Ralph, Bart, etc.)  It seemed like a "fun" line to collect too, and if I hadn't had as much $ wrapped into Star Wars, I might have considered it more.  It is however, sad to see it come to an end.  But, congratulations Scott, even though it is a little sad, it has to be satisfying to have a true "complete" set, and knowing you are done.  Although you don't ever really want to see lines end, there is a part of me that thinks it is satisfying knowing that you have the whole works, or that you aren't continually getting further behind with each wave release.  Cheers to the Simpsons line, they had a good run.

I have McAllister in my other league as well.  I also have Shaun Alexander, who I decided to bench since I heard he wasn't playing.  Well, he did.  Didn't exactly have a huge game, but could have done better than the Duece.  Hopefully Westbrook can come through tonight and have a decent game, he's my third RB in that league.  Seems like a lot of fairly high profile injuries thus far this year.....Stephen Davis, Charles Rogers, Duece McAllister, Kellen Winslow, Tommy Maddox, etc.

Just checked that one out this afternoon as well Tydirium, looked pretty cool I thought.  Seems a little more exciting when you can see actual "finished" shots, with the ILM work and everything.  The cockpit view is quite cool too.

Haven't been able to talk the Mrs. into this set yet, but just to help anyone who hasn't picked it up yet...I see that KBToys.com has the Sinister Six boxset in stock for $39.99, which is $5 cheaper than Amazon anyways.  I don't know what it goes for at retail (hasn't shown up here), but if you want to save a few bucks, might be worth a look.

I've ordered a few DVDs through them, and have had great luck thus far too.  And, often times, their prices are much lower than what you would find at retail (what I've found anyways).  Plus, if you are buying any box sets (that cost over $25), it will likely have free shipping which is always a plus.  I currently have the Star Wars Trilogy on preorder through them, but haven't decided if I will cancel or not.  Right now it says the shipping date is September 24th (to ship out), and if that doesn't change, I will probably run somewhere here in town to pick it up and cancel the order.  Anyways, to summarize, I think Amazon does a pretty nice job with their DVD orders...at least I've never had any complaints about them at all.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Episode III line....April 2nd, 2005
« on: September 17, 2004, 01:39 PM »
Thanks for the news scoop Jeff (and JD), always great to hear some "rumblings" now and then.  Although I am more of an OT person, I can say I am starting to get psyched for ROTS.  It will be interesting to see what the "action features" all entail this time around, and how bad it will be.  I went out at midnight last time to get the Episode II figures (most I had ever spent at once on Star Wars), and look back now and probably should have waited to get better versions of the main characters later on.  Hopefully I'll be able to hold out this time and wait it out.  I guess it all depends on what the figures look like, and what is available at launch.  I don't mind that there is only 29 figures or so, it becomes kind of overwhelming at launch sometimes too.  Looking forward to getting some sneak peeks at pics of the figures...and I hope they don't wait too long to release a Chewbacca (and the other Wookiees) figure. :)

SuperHeroHype has news regarding some pics taken from the set of the Fantastic Four movie.  Although they aren't necessarily the clearest or closest pictures, you can get your first look of Michael Chiklis in his Thing get up.
