30th Anniversary Collection / Re: Battle of Death Star Wave
« on: January 5, 2006, 01:30 PM »
OK, so I am officially confused now.  We've got these figures from the rumor mill:

Rebel Sentry
Luke Skywalker (Ceremony)
Han Solo (Ceremony)
Rebel Pilot
Death Star Trooper

Is this wave "Battle of the Death Star" Wave?

Or is it the "Battle of Yavin" Wave?

Are they the same thing, with 2 different names?

Color me confused...  :-\

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Consolidated Customs Threads
« on: January 5, 2006, 10:43 AM »
*bump*

As a reminder, since we have a lot of new folks here -

From time time to time as this place gets too cluttered with new threads, we may start consolidating your threads into one big thread so that all of your work is collected into one space.

That way, it is easier for others to view and comment on your work instead of trying to dig through a bunch of threads to fins a certain figure/custom.

Thanks!

You know, looking at those pictures, it just hit me that the 400% Stormtrooper Luke is different from his 100% buddy.  They have two totally different hairstyles...  wonder why they did that?

Strange that I never noticed that until now...  ???

I guess my buddy was right, there are new pics in the latest issue of Lee's.  :)

SA Utapau Clone Trooper = GOOD

SA Commander Cody w/Removable Helmet = GOOD

SA Coruscant Fireman = Good - loving the ball jointed knees!

So far, so good!

I'm also hearing reports now that the pictures are in Tomart's Action Figure Digest as well...

Perhaps Hasbro decided to throw the print press a bone and let them carry the photos of this wave first?

Interesting picture that is.  I saw it a couple of days ago on ebay in an auction.  I'm wondering if RS pilfered the photo or the seller pilfered the photo from RS because it's identical.

Tell me the pic in this auction isn't awfully familiar looking

You aren't seeing things, 'bug.  The auction you have linked is by one of Scum's new sponsors - "Mundy Enterprises".

It looks to me like he gave RS the picture so they would pimp his auction on the front page...  and from the looks of it he sent them a few other pics too - Hoth Wave bust-ups and more.

Hmmm...  I'm hearing reports that there are pictures of the Coruscant wave in the latest issue of Lee's Toy Review magazine.

Anyone else heard this?  Anyone have a scan?  Or at least a discription of the figures?   :-\

Might have to check the local shops and see if I can check it out...

I am hoping to stick to my $100 a month budget again this year, but I may have to end up selling some stuff to stick to that budget thanks to Celebration 3 and RotS pile-up of goods...

Well, well, well...  My target Budget for 2005 was $1200 out-of-pocket.  What that meant was that I could spend more than $1200 if I needed, but only if I sold some stuff and used that cash to go over the budget.

How did I do?  Not so good...  :-[

Actual "Out-of-Pocket" Expenses for 2005 = $2354.81   :(

OK, so I actually spent a bit more than that, but I sold off some stuff I bought so that lowered the total back down a bit.

I think that if I had skipped the trip to C3 and skipped the Kubricks for 2005, I would have been fine... of course the Kubricks and C3 were probably my two favorite things from this year, so I'm glad I blew my budget for them!   ;)

Once again, I am extremely happy that I manage to skip a lot of the "other" lines.  If I were collecting GG busts, bust-ups, MR stuff, Sideshow, etc etc I'm sure I'd rank right up there with the rest of the high-rollers.   :P
