Saga Collection '06 / Re: 2005 Holiday Figure - Darth Vader
« on: December 13, 2005, 11:53 AM »
I ordered this fig within hours of it going on sale and mine still has not shipped ???  Was there a limited initial shipment that swshop received?  Anyone else still showing in stock in there account but not shipped?

My listing still says "In Stock", but I have not yet recieved a shipping notice.  I just attributed it to laziness... the same thing happened with the Covert Clones - it took them 4-5 days to ship after they were "in stock" even though I ordered within hours of the original posting.

Hopefully the ship notice will come int he next day or two...  :-\

Since it utilizes the new saga card will he include a exclusive mini holo figure as well, hmmmm

It would be a good way for them to put out a General Grievous Mini-Holo; you might just be on to something there Jayson!

The more I look at this figure, the more he grows on me.  I really didn't like the #36 Exploding General figure, so this will be a much nicer display piece for that scene on my SW Utapau shelf...

Ooohhh....  I'll guess $15 plus tax.   ::)

Seriously though, a General Grievous on fire?  Unique and cool looking, but did we really need it?  Especially for what it will cost?   :-\

Oh well, put me down for my 2 to fufill my 1 loose, 1 carded disease.   :P

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Who were you in a past life?
« on: December 12, 2005, 07:53 PM »
Wow, I guess I was either a monk or a lone gunman...  :P

I don't know how you feel about it, but you were male in your last earthly incarnation.
You were born somewhere in the territory of modern USA South-East around the year 1075.
Your profession was that of a monk (nun), bee-keeper or lone gunman.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your brief psychological profile in your past life:
Such people are always involved with all new. You have always loved changes, especially in art, music, cooking.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The lesson that your last past life brought to your present incarnation:
There is an invisible connection between the material and the spiritual world. Your lesson is to search, find and use this magical bridge.

"There is an invisible connection between the material and the spiritual world. Your lesson is to search, find and use this magical bridge."

Sounds like I was force-sensitive in a past life...  :D

Wow!  I'll finally be able to combine my love for Coke with my love for coffee.   :D

Kubricks / Series 5
« on: December 12, 2005, 09:50 AM »
I'm actually digging this set a bit more simply because they are new Kubricks to feed my addiction...  :-[

* Luke - pretty cool figure and there aren't a ton of Lukes yet, so I like him.
* Imp R5 - Will go nicely with my Imp R2.
* K-3PO - the only real "dud" since so many other hoth figs would have been nicer, but he still looks well done
* Ten Nunb - growing on me.  At first, I was bored with him, but I think he'll complement Ackbar and Nien nicely.
* Ewoks Wicket - Who cares what they call him, he'll still look great with Paploo/Logray/Wicket as a nice generic 'wok.

So yeah, I'll be picking up this set and I probably won't even complain about it...

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Chronicles of Narnia
« on: December 9, 2005, 11:09 AM »
So, are these notions mistaken?

I saw the same thing on ABC News a few days ago.  Disney basically admitted that it is going to push the that angle, but stressed that type of marketing would be aimed at groups already "involved" with a religious base (youth groups, church groups, etc).

"Rice said only 5 percent of the marketing budget for "Narnia," which opens Dec. 9, targeted faith-based groups. "

In other words, they aren't bringing up the message to the "regular folks" in commercials and trailers (as they are afraid of alienating non-christians), but they are making a lot of promo info available to your local priest/minister/pastor/revenend to use with the youth groups.

Personally, I'm going to just ignore the marketing (which is usually a good idea anyway  :P) and go see the movie.  I've read the books and enjoyed them, so I'll see the movie.

Sure, maybe some folks out there will try to use the movie to push an agenda, but that happens all the time nowadays where certain groups try to use movies to get the message across... Ep3 is anti-Bush!  JarJar is racist stereotype!  Batman Begins is right-wing agenda to exploit our fears of terrorism!

There will always be someone out there who uses a movie to push their message, this time it's just really easy to see who's going to use it and why...

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Battle of Geonosis Wave
« on: December 9, 2005, 10:02 AM »
Another thing to consider is that this is just the initial case assortment.  Hasbro seems to be following the "revised cases" path they used this year...

For example, the Carkoon case now has 2 differnt cases available.  First was the Wave 1 case, which has an uneven mix, and now there is also a Wave 1 Rev. 1 case that has an even 2x each figure case pack.

I'd guess the current case pack is just the first one and at least one other case mix is planned, we just have to wait and see...

Kubricks / Series 5
« on: December 9, 2005, 09:45 AM »
Since we are rolling on the subject again, were were my guesses/wish lists for the next few Kubrick Series (from way back when Series 5 was announced):

Series 6:
1.  Luke X-Wing Pilot (3:12) w/Wedge Antilles & Biggs Darklighter Chases (1:48 each)
2.  TIE Pilot (3:12) w/DS Trooper Chase (3:48)
3.  Walrusman (1:12)
4.  Hammerhead (1:12)
5.  Grand Moff Tarkin (3:12)
6.  Garindan (1:12)

Since we got Walrus Man as a chase in Series 5, I'll swap him on my list with Wuher (1:12).

And then, for Series 7:
7.  Hoth Luke (3:12) w/"Wampa Damaged" Luke Chase (1:48)
8.  Hoth Leia (3:12) w/Probot Chase (1:48)
9.  Skiff Guard Lando (1:12)
10. Gamorrean Guard (1:12)
11. Squidface (1:12)
12. Royal Guard (3:12) w/Imp Dignitary Chase (3:48)

Now those would be sweet.   :)
