Wal Mart will have an exclusive Bonus Disc. IIRC, it's a documentary on R2 and C3P0.

There is still a debate on whether it is a "free" disc or not...   :-\

For Example at Wal-Mart.com:

The Widescreen Ep 3 = $15.87
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4127388

The Widescreen Ep3 DVD with 2nd Disc = $20.87
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4242488

We will have to wait and see if Wal-Mart is going to offer the 2-disc set for the $16 price in stores on Nov 1st.  No one has received any solid confirmation one way or the other yet.

..and on top of that Circuit City is issuing a free lithograph with purchase, whereas Best Buy has a store exclusive lenticular cover.

Decisions, decisions.

I'll be headed to Best Buy - they will price match the lowest price I can find and they are offering two free bottles of Coke according to the weekly ad.  That puts them over the top for me...  :D

Revenge of the Sith / Re: ROTS Figure Sales (or price hikes)!
« on: October 17, 2005, 02:26 PM »
At the Targets around here, everything appears to be included in the 10% off sale mentioned in the ad, EXCEPT for the exclusives - Mustafar figures and Battle Packs.

I bought in my receipts today and got a nice price adjustment on the 15 basic figures I've purchased over the last 2 weeks!   ;D

OK, so let's see...

Saesee Tiin = just an Obi-Wan repaint with new head? (nice color match on the head and arms  ::))

Lame.   >:(

Hmmm... I'll still buy them most likely.  I like the Cody and the RotS Clone, Anakin may turn out nice too (hard to tell in the small picture).

If it's true that the Spud is only 1-per-case, just take the lazy way out!

Spudtrooper is still IN-STOCK at Amazon.com.

And, if you act now, he still qualifies for FREE shiping!

I grabbed mine 2 weeks ago from Amazon - can't beat the free shipping offer and it's only $1-2 more than Target and Wal-Mart.

I'm sick of rules not being clearly laid out in their entirety for all to see before we start anything.

In fairness, the rules were laid out right here with a specific mention of the 82 game cap:

Here are the settings as they currently are.  These are all subject to discussion/vote/whatever.  I like it simple but I can change.

League ID# 2296
League Name: Jedidefender
Password: berry

Draft Type: Offline Draft
Max Teams: 12
Scoring Type: Points Only
Max Moves: No maximum
Max Trades: No maximum
Trade Reject Time: 2 days
Trade End Date: March 9, 2006
Waiver Time: 1 day
Can't Cut List Provider: Yahoo! Sports
Trade Review: League Votes
Max Games Played: 82
Start Scoring on: Wednesday, Oct 5
Weekly Deadline: Daily - Tomorrow
Roster Positions: C, C, LW, LW, RW, RW, D, D, D, D, G, G, BN, BN, BN, BN, IR
Stat Categories: G, A, +/-, W, SHO
Stat Modifiers: G(1), A(1), +/-(1), W(1), SHO(3)

With that said though, I don't have a problem raising the cap to 100 games.

That way, it's not a free-for-all since the games are still capped at something.  Plus, you do get some more milage out of the bench players that you have.  You still have to strategize how and when to use those extra 18 games over the year.

I can go either way, but I'll vote to increase the cap to 100 because I don't think it really hurts anything this early in the year because everyone will still have a chance to capitalize on that expansion.

Congrats to Mikey for a 13 point jump last night.  That's got to be a record so far for a single night.

I believe Jeff scored 19 one night.

Saturday, Oct 8th -

and, actually, it was 20 points.   :-*

3A - J. Thornton (Bos - C)
2A - S. Koivu (Mon - C)
3A - M. Recchi (Pit - LW,RW)
1G, 1A -M. Hossa (Atl - RW)
1G, 2A - W. Redden (Ott - D)
1G, 1A - B. Stuart (SJ - D)

1W - E. Nabokov (SJ - G)
1W, 1SO - D. Hasek (Ott - G)

Forwards = 15 pts
Goalies = 5 pts

Total = 20pts  ;D

Jeff, is the league capped at 12 teams?

Yes, we are capped at 12 teams (ie our league is full).

And are we doing 12 round in the draft?

Yep, 12 rounds to cover the 12 roster spots:

PG
SG
PF
SF
C
Utility
Utility
five Bench Positions

My game is at exactly the same time as the draft. I have 120 guys ranked, so just wanting to know if I need to add any.

I think having 120 ranked, you should be covered...  ;)

The number of transactions can be limited.  The other solution has already been mentioned: a longer waiver, say 4 days.  That would prevent flipping players on a daily basis.  Plus you may end up losing a guy on waivers or may not get a guy you request because of the priority of the waiver wire.

As long as we take steps against constant flipping (either a max on transactions or a 4-day waiver wire), I have no problem raising the cap to 100 games if that is the highest we can go...

In some ways, I like the cap.  In others, I dislike it.   :-\

I can go either way, but I really don't want the league to turn into a mess because some people abuse the system by constantly adding/dropping players to ensure that they have someone playing every night...

I've been in leagues where guys used 50% of their roster to constantly add/drop players so each and every night they had 4-5 players playing which really gave them an edge to those who like their roster and try to to shake it up too much.

Like I said, I can go either way on the cap though.  Perhaps if we drop the cap, we consider setting some limit to the maximum number of transactions that you can make through out the season?

Jeff

Sweet!

My daughter asked for a Darth Tater last week, and there was pretty much no way I could say no.  It has quickly become one of her favourite toys (after the Barbies, of course).   ;D

Yeah, I originally wasn't going to pick these up, but since they only run $7-9 I thought what the heck.  They will be fun to have these around as star wars toys that the nephews are actually allowed to play with!   ;)
