I couldn't be happier with the way things have shaken out so far this season. :)

You mean how the schedules worked out and you get to play 4 games against the hopeless NCF North this year?

The NFC North is bad, bad, bad.  Three teams with one win and the Packers (0-3) play tonight to try to join them.   :(

Daunte Culpepper - 2 more INT.

At this pace, he'll throw 40 INTs this year... will Blanda's record 42 INTs in one year be in danger?   :P

Guess we'll all have to keep watching.

The Vikings suck.  They knocked Vick out of the game and STILL couldn't stop the Falcons from running all over them.  Sure, the Vikes have 5 injured Defensive players, but come on - even Matt Schaub got off a few long runs on them.  He had almost as many yards as Vick on the same number of carries...  :-\

The Offensive line was horrible (again).  What happened to the team that showed up against NO last week?  Too bad they were replaced once again by the team that played against Cincinatti 2 weeks ago.   :(

Guess no one else is ballsy enough to make some predictions... lame Canadians all claim to love the sport but are afraid to make any brash predictions.  ::)  :P

I'm getting pretty excited for this week... should be fun to have the NHL back!

Time to see how I did...

Jeff's Picks for 2005:

AL East - Boston
AL Central - Minnesota  8)
AL West - California (I refuse to call them LA or even Anaheim  :P)
Wild Card - New York

NL East - Atlanta
NL Central - St. Louis
NL West - San Diego
Wild Card - Florida

Well, in the AL my Twins failed me and I mixed up the order on the Red Sox and Yanks (but they did make it a close race).  Not too shabby.  Over in the NL, the fish let me down, letting the Astros sneak in there instead.  Eh, 75% isn't too bad.   :)

My playoff picks...

New York over California
Boston over Chicago

St. Louis over San Diego
Atlanta over Houston

Boston over New York
St. Louis over Atlanta

St. Louis over Boston - time for the Red Birds to avenge last year...

So, after a few days to digest the price, and even though it's not really in my price range, I'm going to do it.

I've heard that StarWarsShop may be getting in a few of them to sell, you might want to keep an eye out to see if they can do better than the European prices (although the shipping might kill you).   :-\

Kubricks / Series 5
« on: October 3, 2005, 11:39 AM »
I'm going to stick with my earlier guess for the chases this time around...

These are my guesses for the chases on Series 5...

Dagobah/Dirty R2-D2 Chase (from the Yoda Box)
Blue Snag (from the Red Snag Box)
Boushh (from the Slave Leia Box)

I don't really mind when they throw out a brand new figure as the chase - it kinda makes it more fun for me.  I'd rather pay the cash for a new figure than a variant I guess.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Carded Wedge, finally!

I am so stoked that he includes the propper helmet now!

ditto!  And, I'm still glad that this figure got changed from that original plan of just re-releasing the first PotF2 Wedge.

I'd love to see a 2006 Internet Figure for Biggs using the same set-up - Dutch Vandar Body w/Biggs head and removable helmet!   :)

Hasbro must have heard that all the fans aren't planning on buying as many of these as the once thought...

I was checking EE this morning to look for new stuff and I noticed that they made a few changes to the case assortments for wave 6.

Most notably, the wave 1, revision 0 case no longer will have 3x #65 501st Clone.  Instead there will be 1x #18 C-3PO and 2x #65.   That seems like a really strange substitution... take out a clone, add a 3PO?  :-\

Also, the revision 1 case which had 2x #65 and a bunch of repacks was CANCELLED.   :-\

And I take it that the Collection 2 "find" that GH posted a few days ago is looking like BS more and more? Has anyone actually found these?

It's looking more and more like that was a fraudulent report, especially since he said they were 3x per case in the case he found.  A quick look at EE this morning shows that Hasbro CHANGED the case assortment - the 501st is not at 3-per-case in ANY of the case assortments now...

OK, so I'm a little late, at least I got my WiP in on time.   :-[

I thought about fiddling with the skin color for my BH, but I really like the shade of green now.  I did go back and touch up the pants a bit and also re-painted the torso and touched up the chestplate and dry-brushed the arms a bit (cn't make it out too well in the pictures though).  Here is the finished product -

Bounty Hunter Torpas P'hil, one of the most dangerous Salamandro Bounty Hunters to ever work for Jabba the Hutt.

OK, so a "dangerous" Salamandro is like saying a "dangerous" bunny rabbit.  As Phruby guessed, I was shooting for a bit of "Marvel" for my inspiration - one of those classic Marvel Bounty Hunters that probably any of us could escape from!   :D

This guy found his way into Jabba's employ when Jabba helped his tribe "acquire" some medical supplies they needed.  To pay for the supplies, the tribe sold Torpas to Jabba.  Jabba was a bit concerned as to what to do with Torpas here, until he discoverd Torpas' ability to "see" where others couldn't.

For instance, he had an uncanny ability to "see" where prey was likely hiding, even in the most crowded cities..  Maybe it was the force, maybe just keen eyesight with those big eyes.  Jabba often sent Torpas along with the "real" bounty hunters when a particularily nasty mark goes off the grid.

So, there's the story on my Bounty Hunter.  On to next month!  :)

Looks like we've got 10 teams (or soon will once the 10th adds his team).

Now, on to a draft day...  From what I read above, it sounds like Sundays will work out best for everyone involved (Wednesday being the second choice).

I'll check out Yahoo and see what we can get...

OK, looks like Sunday is out unless we want to draft in the morning.   :-\

How about this?

Draft Day (via Yahoo LIVE DRAFT):

Date:  Wednesday, October 19th
Time:  9:45pm EST (8:45pm Central, 7:45pm Mountain, 6:45pm Pacific)

That will give us about 2 weeks to get the rosters set and up and running.  It also gives us time in case we encounter technical difficulties on draft day and need to move the date.

Everyone on board for the 19th?

Enough bull****.

So I don't see why we can't play.

You really can't see why you are not allowed in the Fantasy NBA league?

On top of that, I spent over 80% of last season in 1st place in the basketball league and won the past 2 baseball leagues, it seems kinda rigged and illegitimate to exclude me for that, and Kevin because he wants to play.

Your prowess at Fantasy Sports (NBA or MLB or NFL or whatever) has no bearing on why you are not playing.  It has no bearing on why Kevin is not playing.

No one is keeping you out of the NBA league because they are afraid of losing to you.

It's because of this stunt and similar stunts all throughout your JD Fantasy sports history.  Every single league you play in, a bunch of bull**** starts that the Staff members have to step in and handle.

It is for this reason, and this reason alone that you will not be playing in the JediDefender Fantasy NBA League.

It is for this reason,  that most likely no one will ever want to play with you in another Fantasy Sports League here at JediDefender.

I do not appreciate being dragged into this mess because of a decision I made regarding an entirely different league (a decision which is once again validated) and I will not be bullied into allowing you into the Fantasy NBA league by holding another Fantasy league here hostage.

After going 38 days without stocking a single new basic figure, the local Target store FINALLY put out!

Someone beat me to the #57 Bly and #60 GrevGuard they had, but I walked away with 1x each of #58 Wookiee, #59 Gree, #61 Senator Dork, #62 Lady Senator Dork, #63 Nemoidian Commander.

Good to see Targets are getting this wave in too... they rang up at $5.44 each under the same Collection 1 DPCI (for those that like that sort of info).
