Kubricks / Re: Kubricks and Minimates

I think I read that too...

I remember a March date for the X-Men set and a price tag around $40 I think.  I wil see if I can dig up the link I saw:

http://kubrickworld.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1072&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=xmen&start=15

Here it was at KubrickWorld.  About the middle of the page...

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Basic Figure Leak: Already?
« on: January 28, 2005, 11:11 AM »
I called the Target store in question to see if they would hold the figures for me, but they were all gone.  :(

Sounds like it was just one case of Collection 2 figures that was mistakenly stocked along with the Sneak Preview waves (which they had plenty of).

Dang!  Missed them by that much!  Ah, well if they can leak once, maybe they'll leak again soon...

With the black appendages its got to be well above 200 though...

You'd have an Oreo Cookiee Stormie Brigade!

Especially if you can head swap the Black Stormie head on the other bodies...

You better get cracking on ordering about 100 more 3-packs so you have them all Colman!

Has the price been mentioned at all for this ship?  I'm guessing in the $20ish range, although $15 would be nicer.

Once again, it's in the first post of this thread!  I better copy the whole thing down again for you lazy people!   :P

For those of you who like using the DPCI trick at Target:

Post-OTC/2005 Vehicle Assortment ($19.99 each)
Assortment #: 85196
DPCI#: 087-06-1246
* Use this number to help you score the Episode 3 Sneak Preview vehicle!

Now we can all keep tabs on when Target gets in Episode 3 Sneak Preview vehicles!

$19.99 according to the Target computer... not suyre about Wal-Mart, but I'd guess in the $8-20 range for them too.

We used this stuff:

Ugh, that stuff sucks ass.

We used that and a little paper scorer (Paper Tiger) and it took FOREVER.  We only did a small bathroom, I can only imagin doing a larger room.  Redoing the wall must have been fun after that...  :P

Is there a Target DPCI# for the new ship floating around somewhere? It seems really odd that this isn't out there yet with the Sneak figs spewing out en masse right now.

Yeah, it's the first post of this thread!   :P

Revenge of the Sith / Re: ROTS must have figures for you?
« on: January 27, 2005, 12:24 PM »
All of them. :-[

When it comes right down to it, I'm a basic figure complete-ist, so even if it's Anakin Skywalker #4 or a sucky Action Feature Clone trooper, I've still got to have it.

Now, if they start throwing out RotS re-packs, those I can skip.  But if it's a new figure, whether I like it or not, I'll buy it.   ::)

Kubricks / Re: Power of the Kubricks!

Okee Dokee...here is my stuff updated as of tonight with nothing not displayed :)

Very nice.  I like the bigger case you've got Scott, but ultimately decided on the JL cases because of the space I had to fill.  The 7 JL cases fit perfectly on top of my large shelf allowing me to fill a previously dead space.  Eventually, my Bat-bricks will be chased out as more SW Kubricks are released, so I'll have to buy a few more cases for them and the other bricks I don't have on display (Back to Future, Muppets, Sesame Street).

Looking at your cases reminds me that my work isn't done yet...  :-\

Still have to nab Logray, Beaker (chase), Sesame Street S2 (Bert, Oscar, Elmo, Herry), and Japan Batman and Robin (I bought the USA box set cheap on eBay, but I'd still like the Japan Batman and Robin because they are different).  Eh, something to spend the $$ on between now and April I guess.  :P

Kubricks / Re: Power of the Kubricks!

Nice!  Are those the Johnny Lightning Cases?

It looks like this is the case Jeff uses.  Correct?

Yeah, I'd very much like to know what types of cases those are as well, especially since IG-88 can actually stand up in those! Give me details, like where you found them, how much, etc. They don't look like they're individual pieces. Do they come in sixes?

Yes indeed!  The Johhny Lightnig Interlocking Showcase.  Each case has 6 spaces and they can interlock to form different arrangements.  While doing my research, I came across many places that sold them:

$5.99 at TRU
$6.99 - $7.99 at "Collector" Shops (Hub Hobby, Model Shops, etc).
$7.99 at Target (costs more because the Target version comes with an exclusive JL car).

They are always in the JL section of the store, but I haven't seen them at Target since Christmas.  I have seen them restocked at TRU recently though.  I did some checking at JoAnn and Michaels craft stores, but never really found any case that worked for the space I had.

I actually got mine by ordering a few from a local hot wheels dealer guy (4 cases for $20), then managed to snag a three more after Christmas at Target (only $3.84 on Clearance).  Each of the Target cases actually came with a Johhny Lightning car, but I just gave the 3 cars away to the nephews.  They don't care that they are "fine die-cast replicas" just that they are cars.

The only Kubrick I have that didn't quite fit was the Carbonite block, as you can see in the picture, it is kind of tilted to get it to fit in the space.  Otherwise, everyone else (Astromechs,/IG-88) fit nicely.  :)

Very nice, I'll have to drop by and see it in person one of these days...

Despite what Pinky LaRue had to say, I kind of actually like the color.  It gives the space a much warmer feel than it had before.  Very homey, though I imagine there usually are more toys scattered across that floor than the pictures show.   :P

We have actually looked into that Legato Carpet, nice to see someone I know try it and like it.  My wife and I did the DIY thing with Pergo flooring in our bedrooms, and the Legato is basically the carpeting equivalent of Pergo.  Nice, easy, DIY "carpeting for dummies".

Was the carpet installation fairly straight-forward or was there a lot of cutting involved?  How easy were the edge of the room to handle?

Well, I had a little time tonight, so I decided to open up the EB Set and the TRU 5-pack (the Speeder Bike set is staying boxed for now).

I got them all put in place in my Kubrick display case and I took a few new pictures of my Kubrick set-up.  Enjoy the pictures...

The Whole Kubrick Case (Star Wars and Batman):

The Right Side of the Case (clicky below for larger pic!):

Coming along nicely, but I don't have anymore room for Series 4!  I'll have to move the Bat-Bricks someplace else when the time comes...   :(

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: DVD 3-packs. Ugh.
« on: January 26, 2005, 02:50 PM »
Pass.

I've got those figures loose, no plans to buy them again.

It will be interesting to see what the price will be and where they will end up.  I would imagine the leader would be Wal-Mart since they did the DVD packs for the OT.   Might not be a bad deal if they end up in the $10-15 range like the OT sets did...

Feedback / Re: Scott's feedback
« on: January 26, 2005, 09:50 AM »
Uh, oh yeah, I forgot to post this one last night.

I bought a figure for Scott.  He gave me $0.35 for it.  It was special and I will never forget it (even though I already forgot about it once).

Your Pal,
Jeff
