Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Survivor 9: Vanuatu
« on: August 17, 2004, 04:25 PM »
Here's a little-known fact about me.

I haver never watched an episode of Survivor.  Ever.  Not even the first year with the naked guy running around.  In fact, I couldn't even tell you what day it is on (Wednesday?).  I'm not even sure why.  I guess it's just because I used to work nights and never got into it.

And, for whatever reason, it just doesn't appeal to me to start now.  I know it's silly and that it's not like you need to to have watched from the start to "follow" the story (like with Alias or X-Files).  It's just that for what ever reason, it seems to me like I'm "jumping on the bandwagon" if I start watching it now, so I just don't watch it.

So, I guess, in summary, it is safe to say that I will NOT win any Survivor related game.

That's funny Jeff.  Good use of some of the more complex fodder to use up.  Fat guys just rarely translate to good fodder.

The only thing I'd do is change up his pants to match...  maybe shave off that front thing (sash thingie) and make him wearing those big Joey Buttafuoco pants or something.   ;D  Dunno why but that makes me laugh out loud.

One of the things I am planning on doing is re-painting the lower body.  I was thinking of keeping the sash, but giving it more of an "oily-rag" look.  As for the LOL part, well we've got to have some funny unique customs in our collections or it'd just get boring ;)

I guess there is an additional positive for this cantina set #1 being released:
Now you complete-ists can pick up your Saga Carded Set... cheaper!

I've noticed that with the confirmation of Cantina Scene #1 box sets hitting stores, the eBay price of the Saga carded versions are dropping from $150 to as low as $35!

$35 BIN Kitik

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: VOTC/OTC Purchases
« on: August 16, 2004, 09:16 PM »
I have not found a carded "handstand" Luke yet either, Dave.  :(

BUT, I did grab OTC Jawas, Snowtrooper and Tusken Raider repacks at Target tonight!

In fact I scooped up an extra Jawa/Tusken/Snowtrooper for those interested...
edit: sold already! - Jeff

So, now I'm set with OTC #1-28, and I'll have all 6 of the currently shipping vOTC (luke, leia, han, ben, vader, yoda) by Friday!  :)

Every garage has one, so the Rebel Alliance must have had one too...

dead image link removed

He was assembled from a Jek Porkins, Malakili, and a few other spare parts (including his "torch"). I like the look of the Ringer T-Shirt, has a Rebel Logo on the back of the shirt, but none of my pics seem to want to turn out today :(

Maybe I'll add a few more of my Hangar techs this week...

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Dagobah wave
« on: August 16, 2004, 01:45 PM »
I am one of the dorks who will end up with FOUR Dagobah Lukes:

"BackPack" Luke - loose (displayed with OTC Dagobah R2 and OTC Dagobah Yoda in the pack)
"Handstanding" Luke - loose (will be displayed with Saga X-Wing Dagobah R2 and vOTC Yoda)
"Backpack" Luke - carded MOMC
"Handstanding" Luke - carded MOMC

So, I guess my answer is I bought an extra so I could have him posed BOTH ways.

 ;)

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: JD Book Club: What Are You Reading Now?
« on: August 16, 2004, 12:04 PM »
Just finished re-reading all the Harry Potter books, now I thought I'd go back and re-read Shadows of the Empire...

Jeff

Finished SotE, then read the Clone Wars MedStar book that just came out on paperback.  Kind of like ER with Star Wars, Jedi, and Clones thrown in.  Very good little book.  Not the best, but it occupied my time on the plane to and from Boston.

Next up, I'm working on "Mystic River".  Haven't quite started it yet because my wife has about 40 pages left to go, but she should finish it up tonight, then I can start to read it.  (I never saw the movie, so it should be all new to me).

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: what's your favorite scary movie?
« on: August 14, 2004, 12:55 AM »
As sad as it is...
The scariest movie I've ever seen was Jaws.

As a kid, I didn't go swimming for MONTHS after I saw that thing.

Lots of movies have "freaked" me out, "grossed" me out, "weirded" me out, but nothing, and I mean NOTHING ever flat out "scared" me like that movie did.
