Yeah... I did that.   :-*

I used two cheap clearance Bossks from the PotF2 green card blowouts to craft my two custom Saurin.  One, I did just what you said Scott, I used a Ponda Baba body and painted him (black pants, ugly green/yellow jacket like in the picture.

The second, to be a bit different, I used a Ep1 Rune Haako for the body and painted up the robes.  This gave the second one a different look, with a bit of a difference in height and head position.

BUT, I'd still like an official Hasbro version though.

ps.
I really should get off my lazy ass and finaly take some snap shots of my custom figures now that I have a digital Camera...  maybe I'll do that tonight with a feature on my Cantina Customs?

TWO Saurin were in the Mos Eisley Cantina, Sai'torr and Hrchek Kal Fas:

I agree, they are very cool aliens and different enough from Bossk to warrant a figure.

As far as OTC goes, most TRUs around here have Jedi Scene #1, TIE and X-Wing, and Vaders TIE.

A few of them have had the vOTC figures turn up, but there are still a ton of Saga figures piled up on the pegs... no room for basic OTC unless someone decides they need a bunch of Hoth, HoF, and Jedi Ladies (Aayla/Bariss)figures and buys them up.

I believe that Obi-Wan from set #2 is from the PotJ line, not the Ep1 Final Duel version.

He is the "Chocolate-Dipped" Obi-Wan, without the rubber cloak/shell and saber...

The Ricky W thing got me thinking... when we drafting?

I will be away the whole first week of August for work (1st-8th), but I have no problem if someone "auto-picks" for me.  I can send my list/ranking to Scott or someone to draft for me if we need to do it during that week...

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Has Anyone Built a Deck Before?
« on: July 27, 2004, 04:18 PM »
I wouldn't keep that downspout where it is, it might cause some problems later on down the line...
Yeah, that is a work in progress.  Just a temporary fix until we can re-work it.  The drain pipe will wrap around and drain alongside the deck into the Rock landscape that will surround it.  :)

Gotta love those hangers for the boards, some brilliant mind thought those up.  Are you 12" or 16" spacing?
Joist Hangers are great time saver!  We went with 16" On-Center because that is what the city inspector recommended with the deck at 14'x14'.  If we had gone out to 16', they would have had to be 12" joists.

Can't tell, but I presume you poured the concrete for the posts?
Yeah, we dug out our 42" holes with the help of a Toro Dingo Power Auger (like a little tank with a drill), then filled them up with nearly 400lb. of concrete per hole (5 - 80lb bags).  :o  Took a bit of work to level the posts since the backyard is hilly, but we got it straight in the end.

Also surprised to see how low to the ground the house is.  Up here, you see very, very few houses that you can just step out of.  Most have steps, 3-4 and the elevation of the floor is about 3-3.5 feet off the ground, presumably to allow for windows in the basement.  Do you guys have a basement?

The house is a split-level and on a hill, so, the basement (lower level) is a walk-out as Scott said.  It is great because the "basement" is no where near the dark and dingy kind you get with a in-ground basement with tiny windows at the top of the walls.

The front of the house has a few steps up to get to the front door, but the back is a walkout.  Hard to describe if you haven't really seen it before I guess.   :-\  Maybe I'll post a few pictures of the exterior of the house with the next update!

« on: July 27, 2004, 12:12 PM »
My NEW current Top Five figure want from the Mos Eisley Cantina (in no particular order):

(Clicky on the pictures for more info!)

1.  Hem Dazon (Arcona) -

2.  Brainiac

3.  Bom Vimdin

4.  M'iiyoom Onith

5.  Hrchek Kal Fas.

If you've never taken the time to look through the Cantina Roll-Call feature at the Official Site, you really should.  It has some GREAT old pics of those classic Cantina Dudes!  It's probably one of my favorite all-time articles at the Official Site!

« on: July 27, 2004, 11:34 AM »
I will buy this 3PO of course, but I too was hoping for at least knee articulation so he could sit in an Endor Throne or sit in the Falcon!

As it stands, I'll just stick him next to OTC Lobot and the rest of the gang at Cloud City.

« on: July 27, 2004, 11:33 AM »
The more I look at the pictures, the more I like this wave.

Pablo - interesting looking Jedi = diverity for my Geonosis Arena scene.  Looks to have some good articulation in there too.

Yarua - I too hope for the removable bandolier!

Sly - creppy and a little boring, but a very good likeness.  Makes me want a "Dar Wac (Rodian Aide)" to go with her and Mas Amedda standing around the Supreme Chancellor Palpatine.
