Modern Trading / Re: To All I Am Trading With...
« on: January 23, 2006, 06:23 PM »
Thanks for all of the kind words and well wishes, they certainly cheered me up when I really needed it :D

My second surgery was this morning and went very well. There were some complications, but the doctor was very good and took care of everything. I'm very uncomfortable, have a mouth full of stitches, a swollen face, and whacked out on painkillers right now (so forgive any spelling errors and the overuse of the word "very"), but I'm on my way to a speedy recovery :)

Thanks again, everyone :)

If there are any outstanding packages on my end going out to anyone, it may take awhile to get them out to you as I just got out of the hospital an hour ago :(  I had to have emergency surgery on my jaw. I have to go back in tomorrow for another surgery, but I'll get your stuff out to you by next weekend at the latest.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Terminator Toy Line... 4" Scale.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there is a strong chance that they will not see the light of day. It been reported that Palisades Toys has gone belly-up in the last 2 weeks or so :(   If these things have already been manufactured, hoefully they will end up in close-out stores like Big Lots or even dumped clearance priced at KB depending on who bought out Palisades' assets.

Palisades has not updated anything on their site in quite some time and their e-bay store is empty. They appear to be liquidating everything but the desks their employees sit at through their Palisades Direct portion of their website (which is not responding as of this posting :( ).

It's a shame as they finally seem to have corrected the QC issues that plagued their first series of "Army Of Darkness" figures. I got a single Series II figure (King's Knight) for 2 bucks from a Suncoast that's closing down and it's construction is lightyears better than the 100 or so Series I figures I got on clearance this summer (no more brittle clear plastic joints!).

I was really looking forward to these :(

Joe Defender / Re: G.I. Joe Toys Thread

After work today I stopped into the Rt 17 Paramus NJ TRU looking for the new BBI Weapons Sets (didn't find any though :( ) and found a pair of DTC Joes hidden behind the shelfbound Sigma Six figures.

I thought they were BBI sets at first as all I saw were small cards stuck behind the Sigma Six stuff, but when I pulled them out...

I took them to the nearest bar-code scanner:

They are in the system. A little pricey for a single figure, but when you factor in shipping from online stores, it kinda evens out.

I called Rasputin (a local collector and friend who I met through JoeCustoms) to see if he wanted them (he didn't) and he theorized that they may have been returned by someone and that I should ask an employee to bring out more from the back. I found an employee and asked if there were any more of them in the back and he said the 2 in my hand were all that were left as the ones put out last night or this morning sold pretty quickly.

Looks like Joe just may be returning to retail at TRU in some capacity.

Also of note, new JLU 3pks and ML Apocalypse Series figures were also present so it's time to start hitting your local TRUs again!

Added some Star Wars accessories and an Army Of Darkness Series II shield to my haves.

Also added an EU Mara Jade cardback with an unpunched 3-D Playscene! The only damage to the card is minor creasing at the top back of the card just to the right of the j-hook (almost 2 inches above the playscene), and the area where the bubble sat on the front (outline of where bubble was glued to card) is marred from removing the bubble.

Other Custom Figures (non Star Wars) / Re: Postman figure?

:D  I wish they did make that S-Mart Ash figure. It would have worked well. Too bad Palisades toys is going out of business.

S-Mart Ash IS available! You just have to hunt like crazy to find one as "Army Of Darkness" Series II are blind-boxed and S-Mart Ash is packed out at a ratio of 1/64 :(

Check your local Suncoast Motion Picture Company stores. I scored a pair of "AOD" Series II figures from the Bergen Mall (Paramus, NJ) store that is closing down for $2.00 or so each. I got the Duke and a King's Guard Knight, both of which will end up customized alongside their more cheaply constructed Series I Knight bretheren in my Doomtrooper Legions :)

Just before I packed everything up for the move, I took pics of my "Hobby Room". I'll be setting up my new room next month when I have the $$ for the adjustable shelves I want :D

I thought everyone would get a kick out of these pics :D

Just added 2 minty-mint complete Kenner "Predator" action figures to my Haves. They are the original Predator from the Deluxe "Alien Vs Predator" 2pk and the blue "Warrior Predator" from KB's Exclusive "Hive Wars" line (and is a significant figure as it was originally to have been included in the cancelled 3rd wave of Predator toys from 1994 and is considered to be the finest Predator figure produced in the entire line). Both figures have all of their accessories (masks, spears, and in the case of the original Pred- his rifle) and are in tip top condition with tight joints :D

Very sweet work!

I'm not much of a Marvel fan anymore, but you've truly captured these characters very well. I especially appreciate this version of Colossus as I always felt that this costume was much more practical (and cool looking) than the older, more traditional costume he usually wears.

Nice job!

P.S.- Check your Inbox :)

Updated to reflect current deals and added a new want.

I need another "G.I. Joe" VvV Wave 7 or DTC B.A.T. Attack "Robocop" Overkill for my "Brotherhood Of The Serpent" Battledroid project.

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: New Customs by the Findswoman

Another great batch of customs, Findswoman!

Your softgoods never cease to amaze me :D

Great work as always Chewie!

It amazes me how many quality customs you pound out almost on a daily basis! Anyone can pump out poorly painted Clones (and usually do so in great numbers :( ), but to produce professional-grade customs in these numbers is very impressive! I do the same myself occasionally, but usually only for a week or two then I take a break for a few weeks only doing maybe one figure or vehicle a week or so. You, on the other hand, seem to work almost constantly. Now that's dedication :D

Now for the specifics:

B4-D2 is one of my favorite figures you have done in a long while! While all of your figures are great, there's just something about this one that screams "cool". I may actually have to swipe this recipe (although in different colors and some additional details just to differentiate mine from yours), which is something I have never done before!

The ITK Droid, while a very interesting concept, falls a bit short. Literally short, as in "those little arms couldn't really do much damage unless the victim is basically placed up against the droid" ;)   Give it some longer (possibly articulated in some fashion) arms and you've got yourself another winner! The head looks fantastic as does the weathering.

Great job on both of these :D
