Other Toy Lines / Re: Transformers

Has anyone seen the next line (revealed at NYCC) in the War for Cybertron series? War for Cybertron: Earthrise. Man do the figures look nice, and I think I’ll be buying another Optimus (and Starscream for that matter). They also revealed Cliffjumper, Wheeljack, Grapple, Hoist, and more! So much for the “ah, I’ll just get Optimus.....and Soundwave.....and Megatron......” I’m not as experienced a Transformer collector as many of you (I had/have some G1, a few reissues, and dabbled in Classics before unloading them all), but it seems like Hasbro is killing it with Transformers lately.

Although this isn’t “officially official” yet, I am very excited for this set. Both of the figures look great, and I always loved this scene from my favorite movie. Can’t wait.

Kind of wondering how big this "event" is going to be this Friday. It could just be me, but the store I work at has been getting in Frozen II and Star Wars stuff over the past week plus, and I'm guessing it has been about 6 to 1 Frozen to Star Wars ratio. A few cases of Black Series and a handful of GOA, no sign of TVC stuff yet. At least as far as action figures go, it hasn't been much so far.

Is this expected to be out this Friday, or is this a "later this year" type of thing? I'm interested in both this, and the Poe version, and was wondering if we should be on the lookout this week. As much as I'm looking forward to them both, I guess I'd be ok if they spaced them out a bit.

That's odd....is it some sort of TFF screw up?

Not sure if this is confirmed, but I've been listening to the Galaxy of Toys podcast (with special guest Jayson from Yakface!), and they mentioned on there that things like the Skiff and Jabba playset were register locked....possibly until next month? I think they are trying to space things out a bit.

The Vintage Collection / Re: 2019 TVC Poe Dameron's X-Wing Fighter

I really like this for some reason. I know we have seen our share of X-Wings over the years, but I like that the sequel trilogy is finally getting a Vintage Collection quality vehicle of their own. Weird that this is kind of the only Rise of Skywalker vehicle we are seeing for now, aside from Galaxy of Adventures or LEGO.

The only big X-Wing I have is the Dagobah one from like 2002, so I should upgrade to this.

Same. I have the Dagobah one on display, and still really like it, but it would be nice to have a nice ANH one. I guess I do have the “Power FX” one from the POTF2 days, but this new one looks really nice. Might have to wait a bit at $100 though. The box on this is so, so nice.

Looks really nice, and man I never get tired of these vintage boxes. Like others, the prices on the vehicles are kind of steep. I want all of these, but will have to pass and/or wait to spread out the spending on nearly $300 worth of vehicles. Still though, the actual vehicle (and figure), look really nice. Like Ben said, I want a 3 3/4” Mandalorian though first before I’d grab this too.

Post-Sequel Trilogy 3.75" Lines / Re: Triple Force Friday - October 4th

Although we have started to see a lot more pictures get released now, after the fact, I was initially a little surprised how short/condensed the "global video" was. Some neat new Black Series reveals - and that D-O looks pretty cool - but overall it was sort of here's some Funko, here's some Black Series, and here's some LEGO. No TVC  at all, some GOA stuff, and that's about it. I guess I remember the Force Awakens one being several hours? Maybe I'm remembering that incorrectly.

The Black Series 6" Figures / Walmart Black Series 6" Jedi Knight Luke
« on: September 23, 2019, 10:21 PM »
I know it isn't necessarily a rumor since there was photo evidence last week, but that upcoming Jedi Luke looks pretty rad. Only bummer is that I think it is rumored to be Wal-Mart exclusive.

Looks pretty cool to me. I've kept up on the main title from the beginning, and think this is kind of a nest, "non main" look for him too. Nice accessories as well.

The Vintage Collection / Re: The Future of Star Wars Collecting?
« on: September 23, 2019, 10:16 PM »
Agreed here as well. I enjoyed the 5 POA line for what it was, and like it was mentioned...the Solo stuff was pretty great. I do prefer a little more articulation, specifically in main characters or troopers, but I think a midway point between the two articulation/price wise would be great.

Personally, what I really miss - and I know those days are gone - is the more "one line for everyone" approach we saw in the vintage, POTF 2, etc days. A more simplistic line. We collectors may share some of the fault for that with detail and articulation demands, as well as the switch to 6" as the go to collector line. I've posted it before on here, but the POTJ line was one of my favorite times to collect. Figures were good for the time, prices were reasonable, it was fairly easy to keep up with a 24-40 figures per year pace, and I don't remember too much being difficult to find. Throw in some deluxe and vehicle stuff here and there.....all good. I wish we still were in a time where we could just have a Star Wars line that was for collectors, kids, parents, whoever....instead of having 4-5 different lines trying to catch each small segment of the market.

That’s pretty cool. I would have liked a bonus TVC carded BB-8 to go with it but oh well.

Love that idea. Vehicles are tough for me. I love getting them, and always go after the OT ones, but I find I have trouble finding display space for the rest. I've tried to stick to things released in the Vintage Collection line. All that said, I kind of like the looks of this so far, and kind of want to pick it up. Not sure if I like it $100 worth, but we'll see.

It will be different to see where vehicles go once the "saga", at least the Skywalker side of it, wraps up. I mean, have we seen our last release of things like the Falcon in 3 3/4" scale - at least for awhile? Will we just see 1-2 vehicles per year as 6" becomes the primary focus? Or will this new 5" line going to see all the vehicles going forward?

Post-Sequel Trilogy 3.75" Lines / Re: Triple Force Friday - October 4th
« on: September 17, 2019, 05:20 PM »
I was thinking about this today, but it is looking like this will be the cheapest Midnight Madness - or Force Friday - I've ever been to. I'm guessing that is true of many. The lineup for me (and that's even if I can find it all), is the vintage collection wave, aaaand a handful of Black Series figures. We have the rumored Vintage Collection vehicles, but since they haven't "leaked", I'm guessing they won't be out that day. Not that I'm complaining about not having to spend a fortune, but if I find everything I'm looking for I'm looking at 6 TVC figures and maybe 3-4 Black Series figures.
