One thing though, if you don't mind me saying.  I think it is a little overcrowded with troops... having a number of them lying down in a non-battle might be a bit of overkill, but is a great show of Imperial force.

 :P

Yeah, you've got a valid point there. The truth of the matter is though, when this was shot in April I was very anxious to do something that showed off the "might" of my Republic/Imperial Forces since the ROTS figures had just come out...and I was army building like crazy.

Yes there is, however it is incomplete as of now. If you're interested, you can moniter its progress here.

Announcement: Special Editions of the previous two installments of The United are forthcoming!

Other than being obscenely busy with private and social matters in recent weeks, I have been working on the series! However, the further into the story I push, the more I realize how much work and information needs to be put into the earlier chapters. So, thanks to that, I've decided to go ahead with releasing special editions of both The United: The Sacrifice the Bearer Beared & The United: The Politic of Conquest and Rebellion I.

The lowdown?

The special edition for TU:SBB is, for the most part, rewritten to reflect the general style change this story has taken. Nearly all the original pictures remain, although a few have effects added to them.

The special edition for TU:PCRI is more or less an entire overhaul of the existing incarnation. Totally rewritten and reshot, PCRI is going to be done the way it should have been done.

When can you expect to see them?

PCRI should be ready for your veiwing pleasure within a week. Most of the shots have been taken, and the story is ready to go. I'm going to be out of town for a trip this week (Tuesday-Friday) so I'm hoping to have it up either before then or after then.

The special edition of TU:SSB is up now and can be veiwed here

This thread is for both special editions of the existing stories in The United. Hope you enjoy.

The mid morning is a bright one on the sterile, white streets of Imperial Center Monument. The Monument, an offering to the brave warriors of the Clone Wars, is as gargantuan as the war it was created to honor. Devoid of permantent residents within the 10 miles of its confines, the Monument lacks the intimacy of the surrounding early Republic Archechture.

But not today, today is a day of celebration. It is, afterall, the second Empire Day. Coruscanti and off-worlder alike join in the merriment of the occasion...many opting to take in the festivities at the Monument.

Near the boxes of the Military High Command and Imperial elite, a crowd of nearly two million flock to see the heroic zenith of the age, Emperor Palpatine.

The Emperor stands tall, hiding his digusting and distorted scares from the public under his robes. Similarly, The Empire has activley tried to supress any resistance left over from the Clone Wars.

As The Emperor gazes upon the crowd, he cannot help but feel a certain twinge of hate. They're inferior, he'd often say to himself, and hence do not have a right to exist. This justification could not, however, supress Palpatines inherit logic. Where would he be without the inferior rabble? he would often realize. That realization enraged him. Rage that was turned into into motivation. Motivation that would, of course, go towards the implimentation of his ultimate goal...to become the Force persona.

The Senatorial procession makes its way down the street, turning sharply into the Executive boxes. A young human male of dark pigment carries the banner of the former Galactic Republic ahead of two Imperial Security officers in smart blue uniforms.

Behind them, a small cockade of blue robed Senate guards march proudly.

The crowds quiet as the standard bearer approaches the executive arena. He passes a column of Clone Troopers, who are unsuprisingly at the ready. The column of soldiers is flanked by Imperial Veterans of war, who wear antiquanted Phase I armor.

Behind these troops, several Clone Troopers stand arranged in an eerie living statue like pose…each precise to a fault.

And in front of all of this stands the commander, arms crossed proudly at his back, his smug expression atypical of a “fit and willing Imperial son”.

Under the Emperors box severial Imperial Senators stand, notebly Mon Mothma and Bail Organa. Beside them stand many of the Emperors closest advisors, wearing simple and dark colored robes.

It was once said by the now deceased poet Jahkaus Amoul that the “Greatness and pomp that was once the regal Galactic Republic is now gone, replaced only by cold unfeeling utility. In essence, the Galaxy has been made sterile, and callous,”.
Despite being a rose colored image of the late Republic, it is true. Society had lost an ornate elegance since the rise of The Emperor. This is represented in the attire of the Emperors advisors and friend’s, who feel that there is no longer a need or a want for unnecessary pleasures. Only for what is now.

As the Senatorial procession advances, a human male wearing common clothes jumps forward with a blaster and fires it into the heart of the young standard bearer.

Shouting “Long Remember the Death of the Republic!”, the man is quickly taken down by the Clonetroops. Inadvertantly, the commander of the the soldiers is brought down by friendly fire.

The crowds panic and begin to flee. Soon The Emperor could take no more: “STOP! This is a time for celebration! We shall celebrate the sacrifice of this brave matyr just as we shall celebrate the self-elimination of this barbarian!
And so the people did return, trusting in the judgment of their beloved leader.

After all, he did survive the Jedi Rebellion.
And like the Jedi Rebellion, the assaignation of the Standard Bearer was nothing more than  yet another insidious manuever by the great manipulator. The Galaxy was once again about to be plunged into night.

Let me guess Travis, you and your buddies make fun of gays, lesbians, blacks, jews, mexicans, mentally handicapped, any other group that aren't like you and your kind, but I'm sure you use words other than what I did!!
If by that you mean the membership of Rebelscum Forums, yes.  :-*

However to be serious for a moment, as a friend of Travis, I take serious offense to your statement. It perfectly exemplifys why you were and are not Moderator material. I would appreciate it if you would leave me out of your slanderous shitfests in the future.

Such an akward chapter to write! I've decided that for claritys sake, I'll post an introduction to the chapter. Its lengthy but neccesary, I think, so enjoy.

++++++++++++++++
Like a Jewel shimmering upon black sands, the suns of the Kobarra System showed brightly through the windows of The Serpents Tongue. Anyone who was lucky enough to make it through primary school on Kobarra, would likely recall the educational film they were shown about the System. Senator Reigen was no acception. As he sat looking at the stars, the cheesy voice once again filled his head.
An astronomical oddity, the Kobarra System revolved around not one or two stars, but three. Over the span of their seemingly immeasurable lifetimes, the three suns (Draakan, Wobistdu, Mergan) reached magnetic and gravitational equilibrium, and eventually mustered a force strong enough to attract 4 wandering planets. The first (according to Kobarran National Astronomical Law) called Yuana, is a planet of large, apparently sterile seas. Once the capital an aboriginal empire in the Kobarra System, life on Yuana was wiped out by diseases brought by Coruscanti settlers prior to the Sith Wars.
The second planet, Teilde, is a frozen planet with temperatures ranging from -126 standard near the ancient continental shelves, to +34 on the plains. Inhabited by the stout and ill tempered descendants of aboriginals, Teilde is a favorite retreat for Kobarran aristocrats during the summer months...which can be particularly humid and, for lack of a better word, nasty on Kobarra.
The third and most important planet in the system is the lush and tropical planet of Kobarra. Hosting nearly 35 million inhabitants across its 3 continents, Kobarra is a hub of commerce in its region of the Labacht Sector. Most Kobarrans have a mixed aboriginal and Coruscanti heritage.
4th, Groumann is a stable and relatively untouched planet. Apparently lacking an atmosphere, Galactic Astronomers have long debated its status as a planet...

Yet, none of that was important at the moment. That all too familiar tug of hesitancy in his chest was an unwelcome reminder to the Senator that he had come to do a Martyrs work.
Or at least it seemed that way. After rising to power, Reigen recalled, General Uparte worked to establish a apartheid against those on the planet who were "More than 30%aboriginal". As arbitrary and idiotic as it may have seemed to most people at the time, many on the planet supported Uparte's radical visions of "Core World Superiority".
When aboriginal groups, like the Cabaas Organization and Regular ARs, started to oppose the racially charged actions of Uparte's administration during the Naboo Conflict, Uparte's response was quick and unrelenting. 120,000 aboriginals were rounded up and killed indiscriminately. The Holonet paid no attention to (what the editor at the time described as 'a pointless Xeno story') the slaughter and no action was taken against Uparte's government galactic ally.
As a result of the massacre, Reigen remembered looking down at the canopy of one of Kobarras many rainforests, the Legislative branch attempted to reign in Uparte's Executive authority. Naturally, Uparte resisted and soon the planet was engulfed in Civil War. The DUKP (Democratic Union of the Kobarran People) tried, desperately, over the course of 10 year period before the Clone Wars to have the Republic intervene on the behalf of the DUKP. Their attempts were met, at first, with apology and eventually with scorn. Disenfranchised with the Republic, the DUKP officially allied itself with the Separatist Movement one year before the Battle of Geonosis.
Not long after this, Uparte traveled to Coruscant where he delivered some of the most famous words of the pre-war era: "The Barbarians and their Battle Droids must be stopped!" Upon returning to the capital, Uparte learned (with the help of DUKP Z-59s) that the city had fallen in his absence. The occupation was to be short lived, however. When the war finally started on Geonosis, it is said that Palpatine personally ordered troops to Kobarra to reinstate Uparte's government.
Thud!
"Turbulence?" Reigen inquired.
"Just a bit, Senator." The captain replied.
Captains had a way of replying on Kobarra. For example, when Captain Trevador Istante of the 134th Battalion was captured by Confederate Spies during the siege of Ante-Oche, he was shocked to learn of Uparte's radical xenophobia and attempts at Genocide. Renouncing his ranks as a Captain of the Grand Army of the Republic, Istante joined the CIS backed DUKP and quickly rose through the ranks.

"You know what I heard, Senator?" The captain said interrupting Reigens train of thought.
"What's that?"
"They're going to torch the Orchovilas to get rid of the remaining of the DUKP cells."
"I wouldn't hold it past Uparte, Captain."
The Orchovilas, for the less informed, is the name of the area of dense rainforests south of Kobarra Ciudaht. It is suspected by the 'Shield and Saber' (the Defense Department) that Istante and his band of rebels are HQ'd there and have used the region to stock pile Confederate built weapons of "immense chaos".
After the DUKP's defeat at the hands of the Republic two years prior, Istante took charge of the remnants of the organization and fled into the wilderness. As the planet rebuilt from the Civil War, the DUKP and it's hero Istante were largely forgotten. It wasn't until the attempted assassination of General-Executor Uparte (an assassination attempt that left the president irreparably scarred at that) that Istante and the DUKP were in the news again. Being the irrational and all together unstable man that he is, Uparte launched a campaign to "route out the DUKP once and for all in the name of His Majesty, The Emperor."

"You were there for the bombing, right?" Captain Tourpak asked.
"You're very interested in Xeno history for a Core Worlder, Captain."
"My apologies. However, not all of us young folk are Empire-thumping COMPNOR officers, Senator."
Just then, The Serpents Tongue touched down. Reigen tried to formulate a reply, but the urgency of his visit was too much. Within seconds, he was down the hall heading towards to exit.

That's a pretty swift custom there, if I do say so myself. I really like the blaster, it sort of defines him in a sea of generic Jedi.

Name:Courisc Neymo.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: How's the weather?
« on: November 16, 2005, 01:06 AM »
Basically, it's warm and muggy here. Last I checked, the Greer (GSP) station was reporting a temperature of 66.
The powerful system responsible for bringing the snows to Canuks and Mid-Westerners will sling its Cold Front through here over the next few hours. Unlike in Tennesse, Kentuky, Ohio and Indiana, it seems like we'll be spared from any widespread Severe Weather outbreaks due to a general lack of instability. Dosen't mean we won't have an isolated wind event though...*ahem* regardless, I'm going to see this system through. One of those things about wanting to be a meterologist, I suppose.

Tommorow looks nice though, Colder atleast. Matter of fact, we've probably already reached our High Temp. for today thanks to the impending passage of the front.
Speaking of the front, looks like it may touch off another round of Severe Weather in the mid-Atlantic tommorow...but I'm guessing it'll be pretty short lived over the lower mid-Atlantic since the front is already knocking at the western slopes of the Appalachins...I won't venture a guess further nord, since I'm relativley unfamiliar with storm patterns up there.
