I picked up cases from DNStoys.com. I received my shipment from them last week and received all 5 cases in one shot 
. I wasn't expecting that. I was able to get rid of the extra sets (at retail of course) I had pretty quickly to fellow collectors so it worked out pretty well.
I wasn't planning on trying to put together a carded and loose set of these but now I'm reconsidering
. I have Matt to thank for that

After checking out their site I noticed that the e-mail they sent to me is the same thing they posted starting a BLOG on their site. Everyone should cruise on over and post their disappointment. Looks like they haven't learned from the whole SDCC Clone bust fiasco

After seeing that Blackhole Stormtrooper bust I sent out an e-mail to them to inquire. This is the response I received:
Dear Ray,
Thank you for your email.
Gentle Giant is proud to announce it has teamed up with their Japanese
distributor, Blister, to cosponsor the Gentle Giant @ Blister Event Tokyo
this May. On hand at the Japan Event will be the creative forces of Gentle
Giant to answer questions and give the fans an inside look at how Gentle
Giant works. And as a special treat for those in attendance, the Blackhole
Stormtrooper mini bust and Chrome Darth Vader Statue will be available for
purchase for the first time. The edition size of the Blackhole Stormtrooper
mini bust will be 1000 pieces. 500 will be made available to the Japan
Event, the rest will be made available through Gentle Giant's U.S. channels.
The Chrome Darth Vader Statue has an edition of 2500 pieces. 1000 will be
made available to the Japan Event. Those who preordered the Chrome Darth
Vader Statue at last summer's conventions will be guaranteed to receive the
statue and the remaining quantity will be available worldwide through Gentle
Giant's channels.

I hope it's not an April fools joke! Well... I hope the quantity is . GG should know better than to make any one of their busts an edition size of 1000. You would think they would have learned their lesson with the SDCC Clone Trooper.
Speaking of SDCC, I hope everyone is putting in their opinions at the SDCC 2006 blog! This is the only way of giving ourselves a fighting chance.
