The Vintage Collection / Re: 2020 TVC Wave 1 (aka New TVC Wave 11)

Additional figures from this wave will be revealed on Fri/Sat this week at the Hasbro Star Wars panels at the Lucca and Barcelona cons.

Cool! Been wondering about that. Have a feeling I'll be canceling my pre-orderes and ordering a full case.

Okay. I couldn't resist and picked up 4 more tanks, so I'm up to 8. Sad part is, it's going to be tougher and probably more expensive to find the pilots for them now.  ::)

You could partially avoid that problem by customizing one of them into a Rebel-captured tank. Paint a rebel insignia and maybe some stripes on it. Then you can just throw a couple fleet troopers in there.

I've been toying with the idea of doing something like that with one of my Republic gunships or AT-TE's.

Just seeing this now. Neat idea.

I did pick these up to round out my imperial battalion, though. Still can't find a wiff of Tank, pilots. Wonder how many Tank Pilots were made vs the actual tank. The feel the tank pilot is begging for a re-release.

Short lived case assortment? Only got a change to order Boba Fett once and it came damaged. Haven't been able to snag another since.

Finally pre-ordered. Not 100% on buying a 2nd to open, but it's still cool.

The Hasbro Star Wars team made a point of discussing this numbering change, and the Darth Revan situation to an almost exhaustive degree.

Yeah, the Yavin Leia in the wave 10 mixed case is definitely labelled VC164.  Shipping now from select etailers and found at TRU in Canada.

The Feb 2020 date is when the single-figure cases of Leia are expected.  I guess we will have to wait and see if there is a running change where those have the VC150 instead of VC164.

I sent an email to Hasbro PR asking for clarification but haven't heard anything back from them yet.

I found the 150 Leia at Target.

Got my opener!

Okay. This is an absolutely beautiful ship. However, I have gripes;

1) Mine came with a messed up cannon. It's assembled incorrectly and the tip is rotated 90 degrees, horizontal, as opposed to the rest that are vertical.

2) I think it's been mentioned that the landing gear are shoddy. Not a huge deal breaker, but a tad disappointing.

Still, beautiful ship. Thumbs up and major kudos to the designers.  ;)

Rob and I have already traded. Putting out there that I have one duplicate and would like to trade for a different version. My duplicate version is;

Blue Head
Green Body
Orange Right hand
Red Left hand
Yellow Right leg
Purple left leg
Blue Light saber

Let me know if you wanna swap.  ;)

I was horrified to see the that my Rouge One Stormtrooper, VC 140 is yellowing already!!!

What gives? I thought that Hasbro would have figured out the chemistry already. Seriously. I've just spent 2 months Hydrogen Peroxiding my 300 stormtroopers that have yellowed and I have 4 cases of VC140 on order. This is quite disheartening as I intend to display my army ultimately.

Here are a few observations:

Note that all figure are stored in a specially made cardboard boxes. They rarely get exposed to sunlight.

Bikerscouts;

- all VOTC figures yellowed. After hydrogen peroxiding, some whiten well, others get close, but all start yellowing within two weeks without exposure to sunlight.
- Movie heroes/3.75 inch black series, none have yellowed that I have noticed.

Stormtroopers;

- all VOTC stormtroopers (I have 72) have yellowed to some degree. Hydrogen peroxiding seems to be holding.
- most VOTC based variants have begun to yellow to some degree. Again, hydrogen peroxiding seems to be holding.
- Tantive IV/Evo sculpts have slightly yellowed, not nearly to the degree of most VOTC based figures. Hydrogen Peroxiding works well, have yet to observe yellowing coming back.
- all 3.75 inch black series with ball jointed hips/VC41 types, I have yet to notice any yellowing.

Given that the latter releases of Bikerscouts and the Black series/Vintage 1.0 stormtroopers don't seem to have the yellow plague, I expected that the plastic used in VC140 would have been chemically engineered to eliminate the yellow plague problem. Evidently this is not the case.

This must be fixed.

I managed to snag one more set via ship to store. I only got it for the figures, so if anyone wants the actual playset, minus the figures, it's up for grabs for half the cost plus shipping.

My Shadow troopers arrived SHOVED the wrong way into the box. Absolutely unacceptable. Seems like I'm not the only one, reading many people receiving these wave 10 figure packed without any care whatsoever.

My wave 10 case is on the way from EE as well as my 3 Shadow troopers from Amazon.  :)

and for the second time I've promptly broken the barrel of her gun off trying to put it in the holster.

Same here.  That gun/holster combo is pretty poorly designed.

I turned mine around with the grip pointing forward. Fits better that way.

Pre-ordered mine as well. It's a good time to be a SW collector.

For convenience maybe, but this is a new face on a figure we've already bought, we just had a movie launch with half a dozen 3.75" figures, and there are rumors that they're going to let that scale die next year.  So...

Thankfully that rumor was quashed at the Hasbro Q&A at NYCC over the weekend.

I’m kind of torn on this X-Wing...  I didn’t get the Trench Run version, but got the TVC Biggs X-Wing that uses the same tooling.  While the new fuselage and detailed cockpit are quite nice, the wings and main landing gear remain basically unchanged from the POTF electronic X-Wing from over 20 years ago and are dated...  If they changed that part of the model, it would be fantastic.  Otherwise, I may just stick with my 1/30 scale Revell X-Wing kit, which is actually bigger than the TVC model!

I dunno. I have all my x-wings huddled together and the Biggs Red 3 and Trench Run Red 5 stand out from the previous mold based on the POTF F/X mold. The latest tooling is so good that, as I mentioned before, I'm very tempted to customize the previously released X-wings using the latest tooling. Yes, $100 is a lot, especially considering that the same tooling was half as much 8 years ago, but it's still high quality.

I will still always love the POTF F/X version though. There's something perfect about the engine lights.
