Got my shipping notice as well, estimated delivery of Friday. Like others, kind of a mix of excitement and also "ok, where is this going to go?". I kind of thought I had a place for it, but you never really know until you have it in person. I've personally never owned any collectible this large.

The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6" Black Series Solo Wave 5
« on: March 4, 2019, 12:22 PM »
Found this wave (minus Mace) at Target last week. They all look pretty great, again just amazing how much the face scan improves these. Passed on Holdo for now, as display space for the 6" stuff is kind if limited for me. The Padme and Mudtrooper Han are standouts for me.

Been looking for the Gold Parallel for a long time

Nice! Your Willrow collection is just......amazing! Just curious, how is the rest of the collection looking these days? Always liked the way you had things set up.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Jurassic Park Toys
« on: March 2, 2019, 07:48 PM »
It is a slippery slope, but I did end up picking up a couple of the JP Legacy figures at Target (Alan Grant and Muldoon), and the jeep as well. Have to say, just a fun toy line, and would be great for kiddos. The figures, while not Vintage Collection quality, are pretty good and kind of what I wish we would see in the Star Wars basic line.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Transformers

Was back at WM this week to return the used car battery, and I was weak and picked up the rest of the minibots. They did have several of the trailer-less Prime re-releases on hand too. I have one from years ago, which I think was cheaper than the $50 they are asking for this, and that one had a trailer. Still neat to see on the shelf though.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Transformers

Thanks Ben, I appreciate the info. I may just forget it then. I doubt our black hole of a Wal-Mart would have these anyways. I sort of wanted Bumblebee, then thought it might be fun to collect minibots. Still sort of interested in these re-releases, I wasn't able to get many Transformers as a kid so it is kind of like getting many of them for the first time. I got a Prime reissue a few years back, as well as a Sideswipe from when our KB went out of business. Had a Soundwave at one point that I had to sell, although I wish I hadn't. From time to time I still think about trying to get a few modern versions of my favorite characters that just display nicely on bot mode. Saw a new (I think?) Optimus and Megatron the other day at Target. I know the Masterpiece versions are really the best, but I don't know if I can spend that much.

I was at Wal-Mart for the first time in a loooong time this week to pick up a car battery, and decided to take a stroll through the toys while walking back and happened to find a pile of the minibots. Card condition was a little wonky on most, and they only had two Bumblebees, but I decided to grab one. I think I may go back this week to grab the rest. Always loved the minibots, and the reissues in general always have that sense of nostalgia. Looking forward to more, are these all coming to Wal-Mart then?

Kenner Retro Collection / Re: 2019 Kenner Retro Collection
« on: February 22, 2019, 10:35 AM »
I’ve been listening to/reading a number of recaps and opinions from Toy Fair, and these figures definitely seem to be the hot button issue. Some of them brought up an excellent point that I was thinking about too, it was only a matter of time. Retro, especially these days, have always been a thing. Heck, look how often we see Transformers reissues, and people don’t seem to have as much problem with those. I just bought a Bumblebee one this week, and was happy to find it to go with my reissue Prime and Sideswipe. I have a set of reissued Ninja Turtles figures I picked up at TRU years ago as well. I remember looking at (and wish I could have bought) the reissued Masters of the Universe figures when they were out as well. Honestly, Star Wars is one of the few “big” lines from the 80s that hasn’t done this aside from the POTF2 four pack. They (Hasbro) seem to have gone out of their way to make sure everyone knows they aren’t REAL vintage, from the cardbacks to the date stamps, etc. so hopefully there aren’t any issues there.

It may be that the reactions were just as divided with those other line reissues I mentioned, I’m not as plugged into the various other fandoms as I am with Star Wars. I just wish there wasn’t always so much conflict in our fandom. I am not at all directing this at people here, but just with various podcasts and videos I’ve been taking in from creators I very much enjoy, it seems like many are upset by this. I get they aren’t for everyone, and that’s fine, but I guess they don’t bother me too much. I know I’ll likely pick them up if they aren’t too difficult to find.

The Bullpen / Re: Marvel Legends
« on: February 18, 2019, 01:04 PM »
As it always seems with Legends, it all looks pretty great but there is just SO MUCH! I've been very nearly a completist with this line over the years, but it is getting really difficult to keep up and I don't have room to display 2/3 of them anyway. I'll be picking and choosing as well. I usually buy up the Spidey themed waves, and I like to try to keep up with new MCU characters if I can. Otherwise I stick to classic versions, which they have covered a lot of. Like you said, figures like the new Scarlet Witch or Magneto look great, but I already have them too, so we'll see.

Off the top of my head, a few I am excited for are Nightcrawler, Scorpion, Hydro Man, X-Factor Cyclops, Cannonball, Classic Loki, Silver Samurai, and the MCU stuff. Also the Dr Doom shown is a more recent version from the comics where he was more heroic and went by the "Infamous Iron Man" while Tony Stark was down for the count.

I usually don't worry too much about the Celebration exclusives, since I'm unable to go I just figure I won't get them. That said, these do look nice and I kind if want to pick them up. I never thought I'd say this, but part of me is a little nostalgic for that TPM cardback in a way. I know the line ended up being retail death, but it was kind if fun times when things first started hitting. Happy to get the Obi in the regular line at any rate, photo real continues to change the game for this line.

The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: Black Series Hyper-Real Figure Line?
« on: February 16, 2019, 06:55 PM »
I've read some today saying the Vader looks pretty nifty in person, still think I'm out though. I mean, how many different scales/lines do we need? As a side note, I guess those rumors of a 5" or 6" line of basic figures were just that - or still to be revealed. They didn't seem to show much "basic" today anyways.

The Vintage Collection / Re: 2019 Walmart VC144 Skiff Guard Lando

Glad to see Skiff Lando coming out again, one of my favorite figures since way back in the vintage days. Poo on it being a WM exclusive though.

Really cool to see them really supporting the barge with releases like this. I was able to get one preordered after missing all of the preorders this morning at Target. Looks great, I thought the last release always felt a little flimsy, and I had guys falling off of it all the time.

The Vintage Collection / Re: 2019 Walmart Jabba's Palace Adventure Set

My highlight as well. I hadn't heard any rumors of this, and would not have expected this - particularly in a non-cardboard form. Only bad part is the Wal-Mart exclusivity. Any word on price?
