Star Wars Anthology / Re: Rogue One (SPOILERS)
« on: December 16, 2016, 10:06 AM »
Anybody see it in 3D and have comments on the 3D effects?  Is it worth seeing?

I was going to go see the movie again today (saw it in standard 2D last night) and was debating about seeing it in 3D.

My showing was 3D. I don't know if it made much of a difference. I think one of the star destroyers was popping out of the screen.

Did anyone notice Moroff on Scarif? This video implies he may have appeared there. I recall him on Yavin, but not on the Beach.

Rogue One / Rogue One 3.75" Wave 3
« on: November 15, 2016, 10:54 AM »
Does anyone have a line on when these might ship. I would think they could arrive by Christmas if Hasbro wants to avoid the debacle they had last year with the trifecta of  only Goss Toowers, Sarco Plank, and Zuvio on the pegs.

I can’t find a better place to post this So…
Does anybody know if these port issues are affecting Hasbro’s distribution? I’m worried this might delay the later waves of R1 Toys to come.

Other Collectibles / Re: Jakks Pacific 20" Star Wars Figure Line

I don't see a listing for the 48" line of figures of vader and stormie.

My question is if the 48" line will continue with Rogue One. I would like a big classic stormtrooper.

Rogue One / Re: The Playset Thread
« on: October 20, 2016, 09:29 AM »
I've seen the Batcave here in Iowa. It's very large, about the size of the Turtles sewer playset. I think its great they're trying it out. There is a market for playsets. I think part of the problem for Hasbro is that outside of the Falcon, there is no static setting in the films. Death Star, Cantina, Jabba's Palace, they're all great but they're here and gone. The Batcave, the Sewer, or Main St. for the Simpsons, these are places kids and collectors can mine play out of indefinitely. The Falcon fits that mold, but she had been absent for 30 years until TFA. The Nerf Falcon didn't really work the same as the BMF did in terms of a playset, but that's too expensive...

I was thinking about buying this batcave as I have no batcave. Now I'm thinking about buying it to boost the playset "movement".

I just searched for Chirrut on eBay to see how many listings there are already. There are so many that it passes my test of "stuff that will hit wide distribution very soon".

Rogue One / Re: Rogue One 3.75" Deluxe 2-Packs
« on: October 6, 2016, 03:29 PM »
While the back-packs in these things are definitely a waste and overly clunky - there's not a figure I don't like out of the two Rogue One 2-packs - Moroff may actually be my favorite 3.75" figure we've gotten in the Rogue One line so far - either him or K-2SO - both are really well done and look really good in my opinion.

It looks like Moroff might be the only two pack figure with a useful backpack. His backpack component looks similar to both the imagery in the trailer and the Micro Machines Figure.

Wave 2 found at Target in Webster City, IA

These are also just found in Hudson Wisconsin and Cottage Grove Minnesota. The Cottage Grove Target have this dpci down to account of either one or two yesterday and then it spiked up today. Apparently a restock might be all it takes to get these in your target.

Rogue One / Re: Rogue One Rebel U-Wing Fighter

Im curious and apprehensive to see one of these toys in person. I would like to know if a custom compartment could be added to the under carriage to seat four figures or so.

Sometimes the trailers give me the impression the U-wing isn’t very big. The picture below shows a scene where troops are jumping out. It seems the troop area is below the wings, yet the space in which troops are jumping out of looks to be less than a six or even four foot tall space. I realize I am nerding out in advance, it just seems like these early shots are not explaining the scale of the ship all that well.

Here’s a weird bit of Information. I have been wondering about the size of an appropriately scaled Grummgar for the 1:18 or 3&3/4” figure line. The short answer is a hair under 6 inches as Grummgar should be 8.85 feet or 2.7 meters tall. I figure this as Hasbro seems to scale a six foot actor to a four inch figure, with 2 inches scaled to 3 feet.

With this in mind maybe we should vote for a 6” Grummgar in an upcoming poll.

The forum over at rebelscum is doing some detailed reporting on MMs. apparently the collection is already up to series 5, and Rogue One is wave 6.

The hasbrotoyshop site has some sets of never seen featuring the AT-TE, Hailfire droid Resistance transport (B-wing-ish ship). Has anyone seen these in stores?

I am looking for ideas to add taller landing skids to the TFA X-wings. My hope is to change the current look where the x-wing is barely as tall as Poe's shoulder. It would be a nice cheat for display purposes to find/make landing gear that props up the ship by 2.5" or more.

Any ideas?
